Willow's POV

I knew that this would happen.

I still did what he asked of me because... how can I say no to him?

I love him, so much. Too much.

And in the end, just like I imagined, he was the one to walk away from me.

To not believe me.

How could he? It's his family and I can't compete with that...

"Mommy?" Dylan calls me by pulling on my sleeve. "I'm tired." He whines.

"I'm sorry baby, let's go sit down a little bit, okay?"

I pull him up onto my arms and carry him to the bench across the street.

Between carrying him and walking side by side, we've been wandering for half an hour. The need to put distance between me and those people was too important.

I was hopeful that we could leave after breakfast without an encounter and the pancakes were ready to be made but the doorbell rang and Dylan ran to open it up. Bringing me face to face with my worst nightmare.

"Why did we have to leave? I wanted to stay with da-Liam." He says, playing with the ends of my hair.

I sit down by the bench and bring him closer to me.

"Liam's family doesn't like mommy and mommy got sad. I am sorry I got sad in front of you." I apologize, kissing the top of his head.

"I was worried. But it's fine." He says. "Can we go back?"
