Zach’s words couldn’t have made Brandi any happier. She hadn’t dared to hope that Zach felt the same as she did, but now she knew. He took her into his arms and she was careful with his wound, but she melted into him.
It was as if she belonged in his arms. She never wanted to let him go. Even if she didn’t know what the future held, she would cherish this time she had with him. For the first time in her life, a man actually saw who she was, saw her worth. She wasn’t willing to let that go easily.
“I’m going to burn our breakfast,” Zach said.
She released him but didn’t move away. He plated the food and handed her one of them. “Let’s go on a date.”
“What?” she asked. “A date?”
“Yeah. Let’s do this right from now on. I know you’re living here and all that, but let me woo you. You deserve that.”
