When the elevator doors opened, Zach couldn’t have been more surprised. By the look on Brandi’s face, she had worked up a good head of steam on her trip back. His next emotion was that he was impressed. He’d handicapped her as much as he could knowing she was a resourceful woman, but she still managed to escape.
He also noted that his mother hadn’t warned him that Brandi had left. That was an interesting turn of events.
Brandi stormed in and began poking Zach’s chest. “I don’t know who you think you are buddy, but I am no child.”
That would be the last thought he’d have about Brandi. She was all woman and maybe more than he could handle. She was certainly challenging him. She was no damsel in distress. “I didn’t think you were.”
“You left me there. What did you think you were doing? Were you up to something you didn’t want me to know about?”
