"Um, sorry, can I ask a question?" she asked, her voice hesitant. Caleb's response was immediate. "Yeah, what's that? Tell me," he said, his eyes locked on hers. Piper's question was straightforward. "Is your grandma's name Nana?" she asked, her brow furrowed in confusion. Caleb chuckled, a warm smile spreading across his face. "No, it's an abbreviation for Granny," he explained. "She likes to call herself Nana with the surname together to make it more respectful." Piper's eyes lit up with understanding. "Oh, now I get it," she said, a smile playing on her lips. As they headed to their respective rooms to freshen up, the maid's voice called out to them, signaling that dinner was ready. They both made their way downstairs, arriving at the dining table simultaneously. The dinner was quiet, with only the sound of utensils clinking against plates breaking the silence. Caleb eventually broke the silence, his voice low and smooth. "Don't forget your work tomorrow," he reminded her. Piper's response was brief. "Oh, okay," she said, her eyes flicking up to meet his. Caleb's next question caught her off guard. "Do you drive? Do you have a driver's license?" he asked, his eyes curious. Piper's reply was nostalgic. "No, I don't have one," she said. "But my grandpa did teach me how to drive with his old truck when I was 18. It's been years since I last drove one, though." Caleb checked the time on his wristwatch, his eyes flicking back to hers. "Can I make you remember how to?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Piper's heart skipped a beat as she gazed into his blue eyes, her mind wandering to the way he said that. What did he mean by "make her remember how to"? She felt a flutter in her chest as she took in his chiseled features and sexy lips. Lost in thought, she didn't notice Caleb waving his hand in front of her face until he spoke up. "Hello, you okay?" he asked, his voice laced with amusement. Piper's response was delayed, her eyes snapping back to reality. "Umm... yes, yes, I am," she stammered. Caleb's smile was knowing. "I asked a question," he said, his voice patient. "There's still time. I can put you through to help you remember if you don't mind." Piper's reply was hesitant, but she eventually nodded.
