posed herself, apologizing for the outburst. As she walked away, her mind reeled with the implications. She had been thrown out of her husband's house on March 31st, and just a day ago – or so she thought – she had been shot. Now, she was seven days ahead? The realization hit her like a ton of bricks. She had slept in the grave for seven days, and everything that had happened seemed like a blur. Piper's thoughts turned to the divorce papers she hadn't signed, and she decided to head back to Lucas's house. However, upon arrival, she found neither Lucas nor Maddie was home. Determined to clear the air, she made her way to their company, hoping to explain her absence and the events that had transpired. As Piper entered the office, she was met with a mixture of curious and sympathetic gazes. However, her attention was quickly drawn to Maddie, whose face contorted with rage. "Where have you been, you devil?" Maddie thundered, her hand connecting with Piper's cheek in a resounding slap. The side of her cheek where Maddie had slapped her was bright red, and the handprint was visibly imprinted on her skin. The onlookers pitied her, knowing the hardships she had endured since marrying into the wealthy and influential Lucas family. Just as Maddie raised her hand to slap Piper again, a voice intervened, "That's enough, Maddie." The room fell silent as Caleb Martins, the young and handsome heir to the Martins fortune, stepped forward. His chiseled features and piercing blue eyes commanded attention, and his presence seemed to calm the tense atmosphere. Caleb was known for his dashing good looks, with a strong jawline and perfectly styled dark hair. He was every girl's dream, with a charisma that drew people to him effortlessly.
