Chapter 1 Massacre.

In those days, when humans ruled the world, the kingdom of Zyphagald was the richest kingdom on earth.

Then, one day, they were attacked by creatures from the underworld. They were mighty wolves, larger than regular wolves, creatures with scales and red eyes that drained people's blood to the last drop, and witches who kidnapped young women and children to be a sacrifice to strengthen themselves.

The creatures triumphed after a long and difficult battle, and the world became theirs. But the gods and other celestial beings were not happy with what was happening in the world, so Selene descended to make things right.

With the humans saved from obliteration, the world came to peace.

However, a few centuries later, a strange man came to a deserted village and gave magical abilities to a young human girl.

An ability that defiles comprehension. They possessed far more powers than were required for the world.

One girl became three, and the world was soon populated by the race known as Celeste Venefica Humanum, or Celestial Human Witch.

They were humans with godlike abilities. They could control the weather, and the elements, predict the future, and retell the past.

While each person possessed a unique set of abilities, the most skilled were those descended directly from the first human witch.

The vampires and dark witches were alarmed by the new race's rise and launched a manhunt to capture and extract all of their powers to strengthen themselves.

And thus started the war that upended the entire world. The human witches were destroyed, and the humans were subjected to enslavement and treachery.

The peace of Cliffstone village was broken when a woman's scream was heard, and the village suddenly caught fire, forcing people to flee their homes in search of safety.

However, as they fled the village, they were either killed by arrows or had their heads severed from their necks.

Complete mayhem. Nobody was able to fight back, especially after the night creatures started feeding on the humans, suckling them dry and leaving the corpses in the open.

"My wife!" You fucking killed my wife!" A man yelled as he swung his sword in front of the vampire that had murdered his wife.

"Humans, tch," the vampire said as he easily dodged every swing of his sword before grabbing his head and pulling it from his neck.

"What disgusting blood, I need to wash my hands so his blood does not contaminate the ones I will have later," he muttered as he stepped out of the house. A content smile emerged on his lips as he looked around with his red eyes at the chaos.

"Sir, we are unable to locate the witch anywhere," uttered one of the men leading the slaughter as he approached the vampire.

"Collins, you are the leader of the village, but you did not know when that woman entered here. You are not capable of doing anything right," the vampire growled at him.

Collins stepped away from the man, he was not aware because the woman was a witch and was good at disguising. Before he could say anything to defend himself, he heard a snarl that shook his very core.

The men jerked their heads to face the direction of the snarl, and when they saw wolves approaching, their pupils narrowed.

"Yes, dogs do have long noses," Collins muttered, earning the vampire's glare.

A brown wolf walked toward them. They heard the snapping of bones, and it changed into a man in a matter of seconds.

"Badmus, where is the witch?" the newly arrived man inquired. He had a menacing appearance due to the scar on his face, and his eyes reflected a chilly light.

With an irritating smile on his lips, Badmus replied, "In my carriage, getting ready for a good fuck. Huh, the smell of rivalry and rage combined with death and blood is really sweet—second only to the blood of the witch."

Collins interrupted, "Alpha Kilan, I am sure the king will not be happy with your presence in this village."

The man was met with the two creatures' intense gaze. Collins went on, "King Crowl will not forgive your treachery, particularly if you do not hold the witch at the end of the day."

Alpha Kilan did not comment, just glancing at the man. His gaze swept over the village's ongoing massacre. The entire village was destroyed as a result of the vampires' relentless search for the final human witch.

He turned his nose up to sniff the air as he walked away from the men and toward the other side of the village.

As they followed Kilan, Collins questioned Badmus, who was moving ahead of him, "Do you think he will be able to sniff out the woman?"

Badmus shrugged. He would not be shocked if Kilan was able to locate the woman because wolves were better at snuffing out scents and identifying those of humans or other creatures better than the vampires.

Kilan continued to walk for some time before he noticed an odd smell in the air. the fragrance of the ocean. His eyes reddened and he looked around cautiously, not wanting to alert Badmus and Collins who were standing behind him.

His ears perked up, and at last, he noticed something moving in the forest behind them.

'Joel, head west, the witch is hiding in the forest,' he mind linked one of his companions. Suddenly, he turned and started to walk back the way he had come.

"I told you he would not find her," Collins whispered.

"Alpha, you found nothing." There was obvious mockery in Badmus statement that the alpha could not find the woman and was already departing so angrily. "I am disappointed, all our efforts are in vain, seems like the witch managed to slip from our fingers."

After glancing at them, Kilan moved past them. He already knew where the witch was, so there was no need to speak with the vampire or the lowly human behind him.
