Three Times Divorced.

"Where is that useless child Amira?" A resounding roar from the woman she called her stepmother. Had Amira shivering in fright. She was in the kitchen washing the dishes. She could eat the leftover as her stepmom was always abusive and starving her even after cooking.

Sara, Amira's stepmother has been psychologically abusive, her whole life. She has never missed an opportunity to denigrate, insult, belittle, shame, and otherwise.

"I'm here ma." She quickly rushes down to meet her stepmom.

"What keep you so long? Didn't you hear your name?" Sara asked.

"I was watching the dishes when you called ma." Amira replied while smiling.

Anything that triggers Amira, not smiling back in the way her stepmom wants her to smile. She has herself to blame.

"You have 5 minutes to finish those dishes or else, you have yourself to blame." She said abruptly with a wicked smirk on her face.

Amira quickly ran to the kitchen before any more insults. She's always abusive by her stepmother, pouring all the bad insults on her without a single fault. Yet, she just as quickly flips around her acting normal, trying to hug Freya or pretend she didn't just crush her soul and if she doesn't play along as a happy dutiful stepchild she will quickly suffer even more abuse and have herself to blame.

The disproportionate amount of this abuse has landed over Amira. She has been called everything from stupid to a worthless waste of a child since her childhood.

All because her mother had died while giving birth to her. Was it her fault? She didn't ask to be born, neither was she happy that her mother choose to leave her behind. She would have taken her to wherever she was going.

She didn't ask for all this!

"Oh my God, what happened? Why is the Sandwich not enough?" Sara her step-mom asks anguishedly with a smirk on her face.

Amira choked down in shock, as the question rang a bell in her head. She stood motionless not knowing what to reply. Because she had demanded money from Sara her step-mother, to go to the grocery to get more Sandwich, but her step-mom had refused to give her money. And left her no choice but to manage the available one, since the Sandwich is just for her father. And she thought it will be enough for her father for that faithful night.

"Emm, emm." Amira uttered without mumbling a word. Mr. Ben, Amira's father was looking at her. She stood not knowing what to say because her stepmother was looking at her repulsing knowing fully well Amira did ask her for money for more Sandwich.

"look at her, stupid and worthless waste of child. She can't even talk about what happened to the money I gave to her." Sara castigated her in front of her dad, lying against an innocent girl just because she has no mother.

"Speak up, before I lose my temper and descend on you." Mr. Ben Amira's dad, flared up in anger while slamming his palms against the wall. He looks so angry because the Sandwich won't be enough for him and the time is late to go out for more Sandwiches. It's already 11 pm at the time.

Amira scantily robs the edge of her nose, biting her lower lips not knowing what to say, and when she looks at Sara, her step-mom. She could see her smiling, rejoicing from her current situation because Sara knew she could not, and will never say a word to her father that she asked for money from her for more Sandwich.

Sara was the cause of everything, but that's one of her ways to make the poor innocent girl suffer at the hand of her biological father who doesn't care about Amira's happiness or try to know everything from the daughter.

Amira jumped in fright, taking a wary step back. Her father's angry voice could knock anything off the ground. She felt her heart leaps from her cheek, as she was frightened and she couldn't say a word but stammered in her dull voice.

Amira rolled her eyes inwardly as her eyes turn red. This woman's thick skin is beyond imagination. How she managed to lie against Amira for her dad to hate her the more, was something she couldn't figure out, while her eyes were wetting already. It's unimaginable as she stood motionless.

Just a fraction of a second. A loud and reverberating slap land on Amira's cheek, which had her see a star in her eyes, and she found herself on the floor. And Sara her step-mother looks happier seen Amira being bitten by her father without any wrongdoing. She flipped her hair across her shoulder with so much excitement seen Amira in pain.

The slap from her father is so fatal that it did affect her ears drum. Tears instantly began to flow freely from her eyes as she held on to her cheek while rolling on the floor bitterly.

"What did you buy with the money she gave to you? You're such a useless daughter. You should've died together with your mother, the day she left me." Mr. Ben sparked in a loud voice. And Sara was rejoicing seen Amira in pain.

"Please my love, it's enough. Let her be. You'd kill her when you noticed all the wrong things she had been doing in this house." Sara decides to stop her husband with more lies after being satisfied to see Amira going through pain. She was just proving to her husband that she's a good stepmother by stepping in.

"Let her die if that's what it takes." Mr. Ben spark in anguish and they left her on the floor.

Amira panted and moaned in pain as no one is there to consolidate her, and she was very weak that she couldn't even cry or share any more tears, but groan in excruciating pain.

Mr. Ben's reaction was too much on his daughter. Even after hitting her so badly, they left her in the cold wetted corridor. All he cared about was teaching that unfortunate child of his a lesson without confirming the appropriate truth from his daughter.

Amira was traumatized with all kinds of worries, even when she did nothing. Sara her step-mother will always look for a way to humiliate, embarrass, condemned, and blamed her in one way or the other.

Sara, once told her during a party that she wished her dad never gave birth to her because she is an ugly stain that shouldn't be seen in public. Despite her excellent grades in school, great sociability, cooking, cleaning, and being obedient she was still just a waste of oxygen and a burden and never as good as other people's children.

Sara always makes a way to scare Amira to death and trigger an outburst of insults and be reminded that she was fed and sheltered so Amira should be grateful to have a good stepmother like she because if Amira stepped out of line she would be pushed out into the street.

However, she managed to put herself together knowing fully that her father is been controlled by her step-mother and if she mislay, she will be sent out to the streets. She didn't want to delay any seconds at all, as that might incur more discipline on her.

She swallowed hard secretly and she manage to put herself together and walked straight into her room. She sobbed all true out the night.

Amira was just 16 years of old when her stepmother belittle, abused, accused, and tortured her for doing nothing wrong. She suffered several abusive words from her stepmother. She had wanted to run out of the house but Amira had nowhere to run to except her only friend Freya which it impossible for her to stay with Freya's household.

The last time she was sick as a teenager, she told her dad she felt unwell and the man's response was "good, I hope it gets worse. if you die you'll learn to not leave the house and wander around like a cheap, stupid w***e."

Tears become her daily food because there's not a day Sara won't make her feel pain and the memories of her mother's death giving birth to her. To this day these memories bring her to tears and have terrified her of even having her own children when she's of age.
