It was a seasonal celebration award party for the best employee in Allure and Elegant beauty company(AE) all departments included, the best look will also be going home with some gifts too..

"Shit! I'm the only one wearing pants, embarrassing,really embarrassing thanks for that Arianna".

Arianna cursed,making her way through the throng.

"Are you guys ready for tonight's champion! yeah, yeah, we know y'all are very hardworking but someone got to take the award home tonight, the most diligent worker alright! I am excited,don't know about you!".

The MC's Mickey,a good friend of Arianna,also very goodlooking that Arianna secretly admired at first sight.

He was her definition of Mr right though not 100per but he got 80per of the qualities she loved in a man,maybe they can work it out, she thought but later on,she lost her confidence and decided to stay in the friend's zone with him.

Micky was a naturally comedian too,who could make any lady fall Inlove with him without trying so hard, so it was no suprise that the company choosed him to be the mc for the night.

"Are you ready!"

Micky screamed into the mic.

"Let's count the votes,we have 10 alsome and worthy candidates, they believed that they had worked hard enough to earn this award so with our votes we are going to find out the best candidate for the award".

Arianna's heart raced, she had to hold onto her chest.

"(Sighs)I didn't participate, I don't think any extra would love to lose that bad".

She turned and found Zoey standing by her side,their eyes met, Zoey gave her a lingering smile and took a sip from her glass of wine elegantly.

Zoey is one of the least problematic employees, she's in the same department with Arianna and a friend of hers too.

Her tall legs and physique made her stand out in the crowd, every clothing she put on her body loves her. Tonight she was on Arianna grande inspired ponytail and peach rosy gown with a long spit that went all the way up to her waist line,showing her beautiful well carved pale legs, Arianna wondered if she is wearing any underwear at all.

"Well you never can tell, but I strongly agree with you, who is the extra that will possibly be so dumb to register for the award"Arianna replied.

"You look great tonight"

It was a polite insult because she said that with a distasteful look on her face,Arianna thought.

She adjusted her glasses and nervously smiled back even though she was with Zoey and they talked, all her attention was on Mickey's announcements.

"Thanks,you...you look gorgeous as always".

She replied, demonstrating Zoey's body shape with her hands.

Zoey giggled softly.

"Thanks,the hair is inspired by you"she replied with a wink and laughed.

Arianna also laughed but awkwardly.

"Candidate number 8, Arianna Jonas"Mickey annouced.

"What a sec, isn't that your name?"

Zoey asked doubtfully.

She turned but couldn't find Arianna.

"Hey! where she go? that red curly hair devil woman,betrayer bitch!"

Zoey cursed in fury and made her way to go search for her.

"She is an extra why would she register for an award?"

The employees gossiped among themselves.

Zoey found her at last

She nudged Arianna so hard.

"Got you!".

"Owch!"Arianna winced and rub her shoulder in pain.

"You got some nerves girl!,you wanna compete with the likes of Julie,Davon Ashley, Ryan and others, girl come on!"

"I only wanted to compete against Ashley,most of us extras work even harder than the top employees like Ashley,all she does in the company is look pretty"Arianna sneered with an eye roll.

"Are you jealous of Ashley?"

"No..what!...ofcourse yes!"

Zoey nodded her head with her lips clamped together.

"So who did you vote for?"Arianna asked,her head tilted and brows raised.

"Ashley,I didn't even look at the list of candidates so I voted Ashley'.

"But why though, she literally does less work than everyone else"Arianna snapped in frustration.

"She's pretty and that's enough,the number one goal of being successful in a beauty company is your looks,your beauty...you know that's why it's called a beauty company, she fits in the standard ,her perfect body, small face ,great visual and nice hair too,but her personality's zero I must confess".

"Thank you!"Arianna snapped in agreement with a grimace.

"But that won't count anyway"Zoey said and took a sip from her wine glass.

Arianna pouted,her hands folded.

"So, the votes are here and ready, let's start with the least voted candidate".

Micky announced.

The hall suddenly felt like it was a grave yard even a pin drop could be heard.

"Arianna Jonas,1 vote...

The hall was filled with thunderous laughter.

Micky felt sorry for his friend.

"Sorry Arianna"

He said mutely,and he meant it,even though Arianna may not be able to read these words from his lips movement.

The suprising thing is, Micky voted for her, so that means Arianna didn't even vote for herself, that's why there's only one vote or else it should've been 2 votes, Mickey thought.

"I guess the only one who voted for her,is herself!"

One of the employees snapped out loud.

"She's so immature"

Someone added.

"So shameless"

Another contributed.

"Don't let them get to you, you will be promoted one day to a main employee, you deserve it really".

Arianna tried not to cry,her eyes glistening and her lips shivering,she pressed them together to hold back from breaking down.

Zoey noticed.

"Oh dear, did I make you...

"It's nothing, I used to be foolishly emotional sometimes, I just ..didn't expect you to compliment me,no one from the company ever done that except Mickey "she sobbed.

"You are really a baby Arianna, aww, stop crying".

"I am not crying and watch it, I'm the elder here!"Arianna snapped at her angrily.

Zoey Chuckled.

"Well age is just a number they say....(sounds more serious now) to be frank, you are the most hardworking person in this company, but our company beauty standard's ridiculous"Zoey said.

Arianna agreed with her last words not because she think it's unfair for her not to fit into the beauty standards, but because Zoey is too beautiful to be considered an average.

Zoey is a goddess! She yelled in her mind.

"Thanks Zoey,I appreciate really".

ARIANNA'S POV

Well congrats to you Arianna you have successful made a fool of yourself, wow thrilling!" I screamed in my head.

"Who do you think is going to win?"Zoey asked fixing her eyes away from me.

"Ashley ofcourse"

I sneered.

"Yeah,I think so too"

Then a male colleague waved at her.

"And a fish took the bait"she mumbled and adjusted her cleavage,exposing more flesh.

"Will be right back"She said to me and catwalked towards him.

"There you are our confident Queen"

Someone snarled at me.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

Who else would that be if bot out spot light queen Ashley, whatever she is going to say, promise me you won't cry Arianna.

I took a deep breathe with my eyes closed and turned to her.
