solutely nothing to wear. Waiting tables just doesn't seem to pay enough to buy new outfits for every occasion or for any occasions for th

the grand staircase. We went through a door opposite the dining room and we were in this huge, no that's not the right word, humongous kitchen! In the middle of the kitchen is a great big wooden table that can sit up to 10 people and there are few people sitting around it. The white marble flooring continues to the kitchen. Granite worktops everywhere and the cabinet looks like solid wood, maybe oak. There is a great big Aga on one side of the kitchen and another modern cooker across the other side of the room. I think the whole house where I'm renting a room in could probably fit in this whole kitchen. Another door on the opposite side of the Aga I can see is another big sitting room. 'Hi Guys, meet my 2 beautiful friends. This is Sophie and this is Alice. Sophie, Alice, this is John, Pete, Marie, Chris, and Anthony', Tina introduced us to the few people sitting around the table. The guy called Pete seems to be staring at me. The others have said hello but Pete hasn't said anything. He just continued to stare. Maybe there's something in my face. Everyone then started looking at Pete. Even Tina started to feel uncomfortable. 'Alice, Sophie, why don't I get you a drink? The drink is this way', said Tina. She took us to the kitchen island where there are varieties of drinks. I decided to go for a beer while Sophie chose a glass of white wine. After that Tina told us to go mingle before the band starts at 6pm, which will be playing in the conservatory. What band? As in a music band? Sophie and I wondered around the house. Everything just looks beautiful. I need to buy a lottery ticket maybe I'll get lucky. 6pm everyone started to head to the conservatory to watch the band. I didn't realise they make conservatories as big as this! A 5 piece band is set up in one end of the room and on the other side is a bar area where a bar tender is serving up drinks. There are plenty of room in the middle for people to have a dance in. The lights went out and the only lights that can be seen is the bands disco lights. A guitar player started and the rest of the band joined in the tune of a Bon Jovi song 'it's my life'. Everyone started dancing to the music Sophie and I included. The Band played some really great songs. After 1 hr the band stopped for a rest. I offered to get Sophie a drink while she chats to another friend of ours Claire. While I was waiting for my turn to get a drink, Pete who I didn't realised was standing behind me started chatting to me. 'Bit busy isn't it?' Pete said. 'Yes' was all I said. I still remembered him just staring at me in the kitchen and didn't even bother to say hello. 'Do you want me to get you a drink? What did you want? I'll get it for you.' Pete added. I looked at the queue maybe it's better if he gets it. He is a lot taller than me so he'll be served quicker. 'Oh ok, thanks. I'll have a light beer please and my friend will have a glass of white wine. Thanks a lot. I'll wait over there with my friend.' I said. He gave me the thumbs up and I headed towards Sophie and Claire. They are now joined by two guys I've never met before. I tried to listen to their conversation but I only got a small glimpse of what they are talking about. I think it's something about a holiday in Barbados which is something I never knew anything about as I've never had a chance to leave the country. Pete then arrived with our drinks and he handed me my beer and gave Sophie her wine for which she said 'thanks'. Pete stood next to me for a bit and then he started asking me questions. 'So what do you do?' 'I work
