Darkness in Disguise In the year 2451, humanity's last stand clings to life within the Ember Kingdom, a fragile beacon against a world devoured by Cosmic Trees. These monstrous botanical growths erupted 2452 years ago, offering a perilous choice: unimaginable power or a horrific transformation into mindless, superpowered zombies. These ravenous creatures now roam the shattered earth, their hunger insatiable. Meet Malcolm, an 18-year-old with striking white hair and piercing, cat-like red eyes. Driven by a desire to see the world beyond Ember's walls and to protect his family, he volunteers for the army-a desperate gamble where soldiers must consume a Cosmic Fruit. With only a 40% chance of retaining one's sanity, the alternative is a swift execution by comrades. Malcolm chooses the Dark Eater, a fruit rumored to grant the power to consume cosmic entities and their zombie offspring, absorbing their strength and essence. As he bites into it, a surge of overwhelming energy courses through him, battling for control. Just as he fears the darkness will claim him, it coalesces, becoming a part of his very being. From the swirling energy emerges Sara, a green-skinned fairy with flowing blue hair and intelligent red eyes. "My name is Sara, Master," she chirps, her voice like wind chimes. "I will help you with anything." The army leader, a man hardened by years of battle, hands Malcolm a key. "You've made it, son. Sara will help you understand your gifts." With Sara by his side, Malcolm discovers the true extent of the Dark Eater's power. A shimmering, RPG-like menu appears, revealing his ability to consume anything, absorb its power, and even shapeshift into it, partially or fully. As he fights and learns, he'll gain XP to unlock new abilities, each step bringing him closer to understanding the vast, terrifying power now intertwined with his destiny. The world is a graveyard, but for Malcolm, it's also a training ground, a place where the line between monster and savior blurs, and darkness might just be his greatest disguise.
