Rein is young beautiful girl that falls for her handsome billionaire boss. But there's so many obstacles in her way. Her mother and his family forbids their relationship.
I check my phone one last time to see if my mother ever replied back to my text before disappointment struck and I placed it on the bedside table.
The night is cold and stormy, and this is my first night in my new apartment, alone in this big city. I can't help but feel like this was a bad idea. My mother was right, I'm not ready to live on my own.
A bright lightening strikes right outside my bedroom window, and as I anticipate the loud roar of thunder to hit next, I instantly throw the blanket over my head.
The loud thunder sent shivers down my spine, and I feel like a little girl, wanting to jump in bed in between her parents because of a late night storm.
"Get yourself together girl. You are a grown ass woman!" I say outload to myself.
In an instant, my phone alerts, letting me know there is a new message.
I grab my phone and unlock the screen.
*Hey baby girl. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, it was a long day at work. I hope you're all settled in your new place. I will call you tomorrow to find out how your interview went. Talk to you later. Love you, bye.*
I let out a sigh full of exasperation. Tomorrow is a big day for me and my mother didn't even care to talk to me about it. Her nonchalant text is proof to me that she is still a bit salty that I moved out.
I moved in here this morning and this is the first time hearing from my mother all day. To other people her text may seem a bit normal, but she and I talk about everything. And I was looking forward to her encouraging words to help me get through my interview tomorrow. She knows how important this is to me that I want to be independent and live on my own. And how important it is for me to get this job.
After my father left us for his young assistant that my mother already made very clear that he couldn't have working for him, five years ago, she and I became extremely close.
My father and I... well. He hurt my mother and left us to fend for ourselves. He means absolutely nothing to me now.
Mom and I are all we have. I am the only child and she as well. Her parents, my grandparents, stopped talking to her when she married my father at 19. I don't know very much about them because she doesn't talk about them or her childhood.
The only stories I've ever heard were dated back to when her and my father got together and that was it. I never bothered to push for more information because I could always tell by the pained look on her face, she didn't want to talk about her childhood or parents. If or when she is ready, I will listen.
I get out of bed and close my window curtains and force myself to go to sleep through the rain and loud claps of thunder outside. If i want to live on my own, I have to stop acting like a child.
The next morning I jump up out of my sleep and instantly grab my phone.
"Shit!" I say shout out loud. I must have slept through my alarm and I'm running behind.
"This can't be happening to me." Today... out of all days, I had to over sleep.
I rush to shower, dress and put on some light makeup. I try to keep the look as professional as possible. I can't be trying to get a job at one of the countries most successful businesses looking like a French-whore, as my mother would say.
After I finish brushing my shoulder length jet black hair, I take a step back and and murmur, "You got this."
I grab an apple off the table on my way out of the door because it's the only food I have in the place at the time. Then I proceed to the parking garage to my car.
Traffic doesn't seem to be on my side. After getting on the highway I take a look at my phone and see that I only have ten minutes to get to my interview, and everyone around me is driving so slow, It's infuriating.
"Move it!" I honk the horn twice at the car in front of me. "Where did you get your license, amazon?" I yell out of the window, hoping he can hear me. I eventually find a gap in traffic and speed the rest of the way to my interview, praying I don't get a ticket on the way.
Once I pull into the parking lot, I notice a woman with long bleach blonde hair and an expensive cashmere coat with red bottom shoes, walking away from her expensive car. She looks like she just stepped outside of a magazine as she walked with confidence into the building with everyone gawking over her. I must admit, I am too, gawking.
I hurry up and grab my purse, not forgetting my resume that's sitting on the passenger side chair before opening the car door.
I lose my step once I get out the car and my folder with my resume falls to the ground, and all the papers scatter.
"Shit! No no no!" I say out loud through my teeth.
I hurry up and try to grab the papers before they all get wet because the ground still had puddles scattered around, from last night rain.
I get down, barely allowing my knees to touch the ground to pick up each one of them when I notice the wind blowing one further away from me.
I rush over, stepping my foot into a puddle of water that covers my entire shoe. "Oh no... This can't be happening to me." I say to myself.
Not realizing, I follow the paper into the VIP parking lot as it blows underneath a parked car.
As soon as I reach down to try to pick it up, the back passenger door opens up, a black polished shoe steps out and startles me and I embarrassingly fall backwards on my butt.
