Always ours

Charlene is always singing at the top of her voice in the shower, like that was going to make the lyrics of the song any more real than it already is. Her last relationship did take a toll on her because I can hear swear words not in the original lyric from her. From Beyonce to Lewis Capaldi, she always screamed at the top of her voice. “Good morning roommate, I hope I didn't wake up.” it's funny how she always says that. I am good Charlene, slept like a baby while you took a shower. We have been roommates for the longest time since I remember.

We moved into our little apartment after working our asses off and saving for a year. While I work in daycare and make little earnings from changing diapers and caring for little children, Charlene works in a club “The Hassle” She would always call it, but it's called “FUN”. “G, can I get that sexy tank top of yours? The little pineapple we call our apartment has a little porch where we plant cute little daisies. It reminds me of her, she always smelled like daisies. You see, marriage, and kids, are definitely off my list of things to do. Char always tells me “G, you are going to end up with a fat cat all alone”. It never bothers me because cats wouldn’t break your heart or your head. She rambles all about her job and clothes and shoes. Char, always talks. I plug in my earphones so she knows I am done with her conversation and focus on the latest on my list when I hear a crash sound. That startles me and I look up to find Char on the ground with her ankles twisted at an awkward angle. Oh my God! Char, are you okay? She seems to take a minute to respond and when she does, she sounds really in pain. I try to lift her and “Owww, G, I think it's broken”. I take the heels off which caused this damage in the first place. Char, how did you end up on your ass? “I was trying out my new babies when I slipped on this silk dress and fell”. This is really bad. I try my best to lifher up and place her on the bed. Rush into the kitchen to get some clean towels, grab ice from the fridge and cool her ankles. I wouldn't be able to work my shift now,G, what the hell am I going to do now? I literally need all I can get from my shift to save up for expenses. I feel really bad for Char but it's not like there is anything I can do about it. I guess I wouldn't be spending my day alone anymore, which is not appealing.
