fogged the glass. Luca replied calmly, as if reading from a book, "You saw something you weren't supposed to." She looked at him right away. So why am I still here? He didn't even blink. That

, which sounded like a giggle and a sigh. Don't remember what I said. No. You can't just dangle that name like a threat and then pull back. Who is he? A person you never want to meet. And if he thinks you're still alive, you will be dead. Liora crossed her arms. You know you're incredibly lousy at protecting people. I'm not here to make you feel better. You aren't here to explain anything either. He said no. I'm here to make sure you don't die before I find out who else you've told. She turned her head quickly towards him. I haven't told anyone yet. Then show it. I can't prove that quiet exists! The automobile came to a stop. Luca peered out the window. We're here. She looked where he was looking. A warehouse that is falling apart on the edge of no where. One of the security cameras flickered in the dark. The gate opened a little bit at a time. You took me to a safe haven... or a grave? Her dirty-blond hair was pushed back, and her eyes were sharp, narrow, and watching her like a hawk watches its prey. Tattoos went up his throat and under his collar. Hey Silas, Luca nodded and said, "Yes." Silas pointed his chin towards Liora. So here is the girl who made Corsini mad. She didn't make him mad. She saw something. Same thing. Liora came outside and looked back and forth between the two men. You all talk like I'm not right here. Silas lifted an eyebrow. She speaks. Luca said, "She breathes too." For now. Silas laughed. I guess I owe you $50 now. Luca's palm barely touched the small of her back, but it was enough to push her forward. She jerked away. Please don't touch me. He responded coolly, "I wasn't." Still. Silas used a magnetic swipe to unlock the steel door. Inside was a tiny hallway with concrete walls, a bare interior, and a quiet hum of security systems hidden in the silence. A lovely setting, Liora mumbled. Where is the tour? Or
