Was it a project, a plan, or something more sinister? She felt a chill run down her spine as she realized that she might be holding something much bigger than she'd initially thought. She tucked the notebook into her bag, deciding to study it further when she was safely away from the storage facility. As she prepared to leave, she heard the sound of footsteps echoing outside the unit. Her heart skipped a beat. She wasn't alone. She froze, holding her breath as the footsteps grew louder. The dim lighting of the storage facility seemed to amplify her fear, making every creak of the metal shelves sound like a warning. She quickly gathered the documents and photos, shoving them back into the box, and pushed it into the corner of the unit, trying to make it look undisturbed. Her hands trembled slightly as she closed the lid, the sound of the lock clicking into place seeming loud in the silence. The footsteps stopped right outside the unit. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she accelerated, leaving the facility and the stranger behind. But she knew she wasn't safe yet.
