"Scarlett..." His voice was low, almost unsure, but hearing him say my name sent a jolt through my chest. I didn't turn around. My fingers curled into fists at my sides as I waited-waited for a confession, a reason to hope. "I need you to know that-" "There you are, Liam! We've been searching everywhere." The voice snapped through the air like a whip, dragging me back to reality. I turned, slowly, already dreading what I'd see. "Tiffany?" "Scarlett." She smiled as though we were old friends, but her eyes held a challenge. "Has he told you yet? The full truth?" "What truth?" I asked, feeling my stomach twist. She glanced at Liam, who stepped closer to her. His hand slid around her waist like it belonged there. "What is this?" I whispered, my voice trembling with betrayal. "Talia is my mate," Liam said, and then-without hesitation-he kissed her. As a werewolf, nothing prepares you for the moment you find your mate. It's more than emotion; it's instinct, a sacred bond you dream about since your first shift. I had hoped, believed, that Liam was mine. But in one cruel moment, the illusion shattered. It all happened the night the pack's Luna celebrated her birthday, the night I lost everything. Scarlett Williams, a young and resilient she-wolf, bears the scars of betrayal and heartbreak after fleeing a pack that nearly destroyed her. She swore to never fall under the spell of an Alpha again. But when she's rescued by a mysterious, brooding Alpha named Caine, she's forced to confront both her fear and her instincts. Caine has his own dark reasons for keeping Scarlett close-and letting her go is not an option. What begins as protection slowly becomes something more dangerous: desire, secrets, and a fate neither of them expected.
SCARLETT'S POV
"You don't have much time left , little rogue. If I count to five and you are still here , you're dead!" Alpha Ryan bellowed, and the floor seemed to shake with his words.
"You can't do this!" I screamed , rage erupting from within me as I refused to move.
I was terrified , yes. But the fear welling inside of me was matched by my seething anger. I was determined to stand my ground.
"I'm part of this pack!"
But he continued to count as if there was a bomb ticking in this pack house. "Two...!"
"Oh , no. That's terrible. How can she just go away? She has no wolf." Someone commented.
I could hear her laughter behind me.
"Poor little thing!"
That was what everybody knew. I was already eighteen, yet wolfless. So I shut my eyes and summoned her. 'Kylie , h-help me!'
Just then, Kylie stirred , and her roar filled my head. 'They want us out? Then , fine!'
'But how do we-shit!' My next words turned into a guttural scream as my whole body seized with pain. Every joint in me cracked as though someone had contorted them in a thousand directions.
I dropped to the floor, my breath hitching in agonizing bursts that ripped through my throat. Gritting my teeth , I mustered all of my strength , channeling it into one fierce primal scream that echoed around me.
Kylie took over and exploded out of the window like a bolt of lightning. 'We'll hunt them all down one day! I swear!'
*******************
We fled as far as we could go while I wept in the deepest pit of her head. But Kylie explained that we were just getting started in life , and leaving our family was just a chapter that had to be closed before we could move on.
"Where are we right now?" I asked her. "I can't smell the pack anymore."
"In another territory , I guess?" She sniffed and made a low groan , turning her head from left to right.
"We have to keep moving and find a way out of here before it gets too dark." She kept running , but this time she ran more slowly.
Kylie seemed to be in a state of confusion and discomfort , possibly due to being in unfamiliar surroundings. Despite this , she remained determined to continue and find a way out before nightfall.
Regardless , everything looked brighter and more colorful through her eyes , as though it was daytime.
We even felt better as the grass rustled against our fur. And the smell of damp earth and wild plants was like heaven. What if we were indeed in heaven?
"Can we stay here for a bit longer?" I asked Kylie.
'Sure!' she said , stopping by the thick roots of the tree.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath , savoring the tranquility of the moment. The rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds were the only sounds that filled the air , and I knew that this was exactly where I wanted to be.
'This place is very safe. Though it would be much better if I could find a bunny rabbit. I want to work on my pangs.'
"Whatever you want ," I said with a smile. What Kylie liked , I liked.
"Mind if we take a little nap?"
"Of course. We need some time off."
"So , where will we go later?" I shrugged my shoulders.
"To be honest , I don't know. I've never been anywhere else in my entire life. Anyway , we'll figure it out in the morning."
My wolf and I talked for a while longer before we both fell asleep.
**************************"
The sun was shining through the tree branches when I woke up the following morning.
When I finally stood up , my eyes grew wide as I turned to look down at myself. I had no clothes on , and I was stuck together with dirt and dead leaves.
"Um, Kylie? Are you there?" I whispered, massaging my temples for the little ache in my head.
Great. My wolf was silent. And no matter how hard I tried , I couldn't shift!
'Wait, did I really transform last night?'
My stupid thoughts made me slap my forehead. Of course , I turned into a wolf last night. Without Kylie , how could I have moved to this place?
And my clothes had even been ripped when she appeared unexpectedly. But I couldn't just walk around naked. I needed to gather at least a few large leaves to cover myself. Then I'd walk down the street and ask for help.
Just as I was about to move , I heard someone on their way toward me. "Well , look what we have found here!"

He stood at the door and looked at us, lowering his voice and growling, "What the fuck are you doing, Stella? Do you have to have sex with another wolf in our room the day before our wedding anniversary?!" 'No, no, I didn't! Tristan, it's not like that!' I screamed in my mind. I wanted to explain to him, to ask for his help, but I didn't have the strength to sit up or speak. I could only helplessly watch Tristan' expression change from anger to disappointment to indifference, and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. "I should have known you were like this, Tristan. I knew it when we got engaged. You're so promiscuous that it makes me sick. I think it's time for us to end this alliance." No, Tristan, no... Tristan looked at me coldly and said the words that broke my heart: "I, Tristan Welsey of BloodyClaw Pack, officially reject you, Stella Graymond of Red moon Pack." "You are no longer my Luna and no longer the BloodyClaw Pack's Luna," Tristan said, turning and leaving. Our mating had sealed a fragile peace between our packs. We weren't true mates, but we'd built something-fragile, maybe, but real to me. On the night of our engagement, I was framed as for infidelity. Tristan didn't hesitate. He didn't let me explain before he furiously rejected me. As I left the packgrounds, my heart torn open, my half-sister appeared-Charlotte. Her face twisted into a sneer. "Finally out of the way," she said before thrusting a silver blade into my side. My last breath came with the truth-I'd been betrayed by them both. But death was not the end. The Moon Goddess found me. She showed me the truth. She gave me a choice. And I chose vengeance. Now reborn before the tragedy, I will uncover every lie, unmask every traitor, and make them pay. But nothing is ever that simple... because this life is filled with a lot of twists and turns.
He was my first love. And my first heartbreak. Now, he's back-with a ring, a contract, and a proposition I never saw coming. Darius Ferguson is a name that turns heads. Billionaire. Power player. The kind of man who can make or break anyone with a single deal. The world sees him as untouchable, unstoppable. But to me? He's the boy who disappeared without a goodbye. The one who left me picking up the pieces of a heart he had no right to break. Now, years later, he's standing in front of me with an offer too tempting-and too dangerous-to ignore. Marry him. Be his perfect wife in public. Play the role until the ink dries on his biggest business deal yet. In return, he'll make all my problems disappear. One year. No emotions. No messy entanglements. Just a means to an end. It should be easy. Except nothing about Liam has ever been easy. He still knows exactly how to make my pulse race. Still watches me like I belong to him. And when he touches me, I forget every reason I swore I'd never let him back in. But this isn't real. It can't be. Because I refuse to make the same mistake twice. Even if pretending to be his wife starts to feel a little too real.
Everything has with a price. Including her. I'm Damien Anderson. I run this city. Control is everything to me. In business, in pleasure-I never give up the upper hand. So when a stubborn little thing dares to defy me, it gets under my skin. Makes me want to break her, own her, make her beg for everything I know she needs. That fire in her green eyes? I want to watch it flicker and fade into sweet submission. I give her an offer she can't refuse-thirty days in my bed, and her money problems disappear. No strings. No emotions. Just my wealth in exchange for her innocence. But Lily isn't just another deal. She's an obsession. A weakness I never saw coming. And now? I don't care about the contract. She's mine. And I'm never letting her go.
One glance. One touch. One note of her mesmerizing voice, and I'm undone. Like a dream I never want to escape, she draws me in, wrapping me in her presence. Consumed. Overcome with need. Fueled by an unshakable desire to claim her as mine. One night, I take more than she's ever given, and it only leaves me craving more. Needing more. Desperate for more. She's the one I've waited for my entire life. And I'll be damned if I let anyone-our families included-stand between us. She trusts me. Yearns for me, just as I ache to possess her. Forever. But fate throws a twist we never saw coming. A curveball no one could have predicted. Still, I cling to her light. She's my Angel. Something about her-about us-makes me believe I've found heaven on earth. She's now my world and I'm never letting her go. Not now. Not ever.
Adeline I was already regretting this blind date when my ex walked into the restaurant-hand in hand with his new girlfriend. The urge to disappear hit me hard, so I did what any self-respecting woman would do . I ran to the ladies' room, unfortunately for me , it was a men's room... and so I had no choice but to climb out the window. Except I didn't exactly stick the landing. Instead, I tripped, tumbled into the dumpster, and almost got shot by a criminal who was on the run from a hot cop. --- Kenneth I was staking out a notorious drug dealer, waiting for the perfect moment to move in. Everything was going smoothly-when a woman fell-yes, fell-from the restroom window and almost got shot by the suspect. The suspect bolted. My cover was blown. And the woman? She looked up at me with the most stunning eyes I'd ever seen... and then tried to run. I caught her before she could get away. Annoyed as hell, I slapped cuffs on her. She was livid. I was livid. But the only thing worse than losing my target? The fact that I couldn't stop staring at her. And I had a feeling that wasn't going to change anytime soon.
