"I'll help you become the woman you've always dreamed of being, Adele. I'll help you build a confidence so strong, no one will ever dare to bully you again." ***** When the school's top hockey player-the famous quiet bad boy every female students admired, approached me, a plump, bullied omega no one ever noticed, I was stunned. I rejected his offer, even though I had secretly admired him for the past two years since he transferred to our school. I was too scared. Scared of getting on princess Chloe's bad side, especially since she had her eyes on him too and has been parading herself as his girlfriend all over the school. But it wasn't long before I found myself crawling back to him, desperate to take the offer this time as I couldn't take the torments any longer. I knew this choice would cost me more than I imagined, but for the first time in my life, I was ready to fight for myself. To change my life and existence. Forever. And nothing was going to stop me now...
Chapter 1
Adele Wilson
"Hey, fatty! Aren't you going for rehearsals?"
My stomach wrenched when I felt a tap at the back of my head, followed by Henry's mocking voice.
I held my gaze low, my fingers clenching tightly around the pen I was holding as I gritted my teeth.
'I told you to fucking stop calling me fatty, you bastard!'
I wanted to curse, but it was the last mistake I'd make, knowing what the consequence would be. I didn't want to get expelled for talking back at the alpha's son, and the school's favourite star.
"I'm getting ready." My voice came out in a whisper. I did an amazing job fighting back my tears.
"Here," He smacked the back of my head to get my attention, and I raised my gaze to see his pair of almond eyes, boring into mine, a smirk tugging at the corner of his small lips.
"Bring this to the theatre," he threw his bag at me, hitting me right in the face, and as if it was funny, I heard laughter erupting in the classroom.
"Don't keep me waiting," he threatened and smacked my head one more time before walking out of the class.
I felt a sting in my heart, my fingers clenching his bag tightly, the urge to toss it on the floor washed through me, but of course, I didn't dare do it, unless I was ready to be thrown out of this academy.
My eyes wandered around the class, and they landed on him. On Jason Wolff. The son of the previous Pack's beta who is deceased now. Rumour had it that after the death of his father fifteen years ago when he was just eight, he was sent out of the country to another Pack, and only moved back into Nightshade Pack two years ago.
As always, he was sitting there quietly with his earpiece plugged inside his ears, his gaze fixated on a novel which had his fingers curled around it.
A smile crept up my face as I stared at him from my seat. He was the most handsome young man in the academy. Tall, sexy physique, oval-shaped face, pointed nose, honey-brown doe eyes, smooth skin, and finally, the most attractive thing in his body. His blonde hair styled in a taper fade. Jason was a work of art, brutally carved from sin. A sexy sin, actually.
He wasn't just handsome, but the academy's top hockey star. One every female students has a crush on.
It was as if he felt my gaze on him, because he soon raised his gaze to look at me, and as our eyes met, I felt a spark of excitement deep inside my stomach.
Jason only stared for seconds before he returned his gaze back to the book, and I exhaled deeply- disappointed.
"Jason... aren't you going to watch the rehearsals?"
I felt a sharp pain in my heart as I watched Chloe, Henry's sister and the alpha's daughter, walk up to him and sit beside him, clinging to his arm possessively.
Chloe was one of the strong werewolves in the pack, boastful of a strong and active wolf. She was also the leader of the figure skating club in the academy.
I have always had a crush on Jason from the moment he got transferred into the academy two years ago , but he never noticed me. Not that I expected him to, anyway. I was only a lowly omega. A wolfless plump omega who managed to get into Nightshade sports academy through the kindness of the alpha who offered me a scholarship here.
A gasp tore through my throat when my gaze dropped to the bag on my table, realisation dawned on me that Henry would probably be waiting for me to bring his bag to him by now.
I didn't waste another second as I grabbed the bag, swung it over my shoulder, and rushed out of the class.
My heart thumped hard against my chest as I approached the theatre.
I stood in front of the theater, my heart beating loudly in my chest as I heard noises from inside. I was afraid of going inside. They were going to bully me as always the moment they set eyes on me.
"Aren't you going inside?"
My heart almost ceased when I heard Jason's voice behind me.
The air got caught in my throat, my breath hitched when I turned swiftly and was welcomed by Jason's broad chest.
He was standing so close to me in a way that my gaze was directly on his broad chest.
My heart fluttered joyfully, my fingers twitched as I resisted the urge to touch him. Goodness! Didn't he know that it was a crime for a person to be this hot?
"You are blocking my way." his cold voice pulled me back to reality, and I subconsciously stepped out of the way, muttering a 'sorry'.
I watched as he walked inside. With just a glance, one would think that Jason was just a naturally quiet person, but to me, he was mysterious. I didn't know why I kept getting the feeling that he was hiding something. I don't know.
I walked right behind Jason inside once I was back to my sense.
"Fatty... What took you so long?" Henry asked as soon as I stepped inside the hall, and I huffed silently. That bastard!
"Here," I ignored his question and handed his bag to him. Thankfully, he took it from me.
I had turned to leave when he called me back.
"Why don't we rehearse, hmm?" Henry stood so close to me that our bodies were almost touching, and when I tried stepping away from him, his hand suddenly disrespectfully slid around my waist, pulling me close.
The academy would be having it's thirty years anniversary in a ten weeks, and different activities were going to be done on the day. I had originally applied to be a part of the future skating club since it has always been my dream, but Chloe rejected me. In her defense, I was too 'fat' and would mess everything up for them.
Henry handpicked me by himself to be his co-leading actress for the drama part.
"I've...I've not read my script," my voice came out in a whisper as I held my gaze low, and I heard him scoff.
"Don't be dramatic, Adele. Let's rehearse." As always, he sounded commanding as he let go of my waist, tucking his hands inside his pockets while looking at me.
I turned to leave, but he grabbed my hand, pulling back roughly.
"I told you that I've not read my script, Henry!" I snapped at him unintentionally, but quickly regretted it.
His eyebrows drew apart, his jaws clenched tightly as he threw me a murderous glare that shattered the last straw of confidence I had in me.
"Did you tell at me?" He scoffed, coming close to me, but I stepped back from him. By now, my heart was already pounding hard in my chest like it was fighting for an escape. I could feel my legs shaking beneath me and getting weaker by each passing second. They could barely carry me up.
"I...I... I didn't tell at you. I was... I was just..." I didn't get to finish my statement when I suddenly tripped over something, and the next thing I heard was a loud thud on the floor, and pain shooting through my body.
I winced.
"What was that sound?"
"My goodness! Is the floor alright?"
I heard the students gasping, laughter erupting in the room as they mocked me.
My vision slowly went blurry with tears.
"What is she doing? Isn't she going to stand up?"
"The fuck! She's too heavy. Why not hit the gym,"
I bit my lip hard as tears slid down my cheek. I dug my fingers into the floor as waves of embarrassment washed through me.
"Are you alright?" And just when I was about to get up, a hand appeared in front of me, offering to help me up, accompanied with a familiar voice that had me snapping my head to confirm the person.
My jaw dropped as I was welcomed by those pairs of sexy eyes, piercing down at me blankly. Jason?
I batted my eyelashes, my eyes slowly darted to his hand which was still hanging in the air, waiting for me to take it.
Jason? Showing up to help me? Is this a prank or was he set to bully me like the others? Maybe the moment I reach for his hand, he'd smirk at me and pull away, saying that he was only joking? I've seen that awkward moment a lot in movies, and I always cringed. I never wanted to be in that situation. I've had enough embarrassment today to last me for the next few months.
Jason had never bullied me before. Not once. But still... This was just too good to be true.
My hand was almost shaking as I slipped it into his, and as his warm skin met mine, I felt a jolt deep in my spine.
Jason pulled me effortlessly to my feet with just a hand as though I weighed nothing.
For a moment, the noise, laugher, and murmurs around us slowly faded, until a dead silence played in the atmosphere.
I guess everyone was as shocked as I was...
