A curse was written in blood- Two brothers fated to be rivals. One woman destined to shatter them both. In the ancient shadows of Gravemire, an old prophecy breathes: "Two sons of royal blood shall rise, Both bound to one heart. Only one shall keep her. Only one shall survive." Kylie never asked for the bond- a forbidden tether that ties her soul to Adrian, the lost prince with haunted eyes and a storm beneath his skin. Their connection is fierce, sacred... dangerous. It's the kind of love that bleeds. But when Adrian uncovers whispers of betrayal and secrets carved into the bones of his lineage, all signs point to his brother, Damien-the golden heir, and the man who also claims Kylie's heart. As past sins awaken and the curse begins to stir, lines blur between passion and vengeance, fate and choice. In a world where love is war and blood remembers, Kylie must decide: Which brother holds her heart- And which one holds the knife?
Kylie scrabbled through the woods.
The moon painting her red hair that flowed down to her waist.
She usually does this; Staying away from her pack for a while to enjoy her private time.
Her claws crawled out from her fingers as she smelled something.
Blood.
But there was something strange about it.
She followed the scent and found someone, or rather something.
It wasn't human, nor was it a wolf.
It was a vampire.
Normally, she was supposed to leave.
Or better still complete the work of the person who tried to kill him.
But she couldn't bring herself to do it.
And she was unable to bring herself to leave either.
The vampire looked badly injured.
And there was something else.
Vervain, a herb that is dangerous to vampires.
She tried to turn away, but as if her body were working on his own she moved closer to help him.
His body was soaking wet with his blood.
And his blue eyes were about to close slowly losing the little life in them.
Without even thinking, Kylie took out her dagger.
She slit her wrist open, and brought it to his lips.
He hesitates because he knew the consequences of what she was about to do.
But Kylie nodded in approval.
Then he brought his lips to her wrist and sucked blood from her veins.
She shivered.
Being a Luna, her blood was very potent so it took effect almost immediately.
His wounds started healing slowly.
And she should have left.
He even expected her to leave.
But she didn't, even though every nerve in her body screamed at her to leave.
After thinking for a while, she helped him up and took him.
After walking for a while, they arrived at a shelter.
Her shelter.
A place she usually comes when she needs privacy.
She laid him on the bed, and brought a cloth to clean his wounds.
Even though they were all healed up, he still had blood all over.
She took some time to study his face.
God, he is handsome!
He looked like a Demi-God.
The strong refined jawline, long eyelashes, his jet black hair that was scattered but still beautiful.
She sat on chair and slept there, since there was no other bed in the room.
****
His eyes stirred open as he tried to understand what was going on.
He looked around, this Shead.
It wasn't familiar.
Then memories of last night started rushing back.
Memories of him getting poisoned, and slaughtered brutally.
Then the memories of her.
The Wolf.
He shifted slightly.
Then his eyes found her, staring through the window.
Her red hair falling in soft waves.
And for a split second, he was captivated.
Then she turned.
She smiled softly, creasing her warm eyes.
And he was lost in her eyes.
Kylie moved to the bedside.
She could feel his gaze, and the tension in the room began to thicken.
He was the first to speak.
" Thank you, for saving my life ".
She nodded biting her lips it's nothing.
"No it wasn't, nothing, you saved my life even though you know what I am".
"I'm Adrian by the way".
She paused.
Adrian?
No, it can't be.
As if reading her mind he said yes it's me Adrian
Gravemire of Morvayne Kingdom.
Kylie couldn't hide the shock on her face.
Her mouth threw wide open.
Adrian Gravemire, the most ruthless and cold-blooded creature that ever existed.
The first son of the great King Lucian Gravemire of Morvayne Kingdom.
Their Kingdom has never lost in war.
Which was of course because of Adrian.
He was said to be the God of War.
She was still shocked, but she just pulled herself together and said;
I'm Kylie Silverthorn..... Luna to the Quinn pack.
Adrian was equally surprised.
She herself was popular.
The little Wolf whose father died mysteriously, and mother died during childbirth.
For a moment, the air in the room became charged.
The tension growing thicker by the second.
There was something strange, something either of them could explain.
She broke the awkward silence saying" I'll go get you something to eat".
Adrian took the opportunity to look around.
The place felt safe, even though he wasn't supposed to feel safe with a wolf.
A Luna for that matter.
But it felt safe and strange at the same time.
The chamber looked cleaned.
But the scent.
It was a familiar scent of honey and coconut.
Before he could stop himself, Adrian found himself inhaling deeply and wanting more.
Sooner than later, she was back with a tray of food.
She put it on the bed, he couldn't come down.
Adrian started eating quietly, even though his eyes were all over her.
From her dark brown hair, to her brown eyes, her pointed nose, full lips.
He swallowed hard feeling the tension growing thicker.
Kylie also swallowed, her face heating up under his gaze.
Adrian ate, and after a while Kylie left to go get him some clothes.
They hadn't spoken much since they woke up, not because there was nothing to talk about.
But because they were both fighting something serious.
Something strange.
***
After a while, Kylie was back.
Adrian was already better, he was now sitting on her hand chair.
She tossed the clothes to him.
" Here I got some clothes for you ".
"Thanks".
She nodded gently.
He brought out the clothes, and was about taking off his clothes when she screamed.
Aaaaahhh!
She turned around, holding her cheeks.
Adrian chuckled.
Heat was creeping up her body, it was obvious because her ears were burning red.
He changed, and told her to turn around.
Kylie hesitated, she turned but she her eyes were still closed.
Adrian smiled, which was strange and rare.
"Alright you can open your eyes now".
She did.
And she almost regretted it because for a while, she again lost in the eyes of the man whom she was supposed to kill.
A man who was considered the greatest enemies to her people.
But she didn't have any control over it because she was still looking deeply into those mysterious blue eyes.
