Hermione
"With the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride" Chief said and the crowd cheered as I heard them when I walked into the throne room with my chief bridesmaid.
I saw a different bride kissing my supposed soon-to-be husband. Confusion is an understatement, I did not know what I was feeling as I watched them suck their lips and the crowd cheered. My heart raced as I adjusted the delicate lace of my wedding gown and my flower fell from my hands.
'What in the name of the moon goddess is going on here?' I screamed as the intensity of what I saw sent chills down my spine.
"Hi Hermione, I am your new Luna and I have heard a lot about you," Lamia declared, her tone fierce.
I know Lamia, she is the strongest female warrior and she got her wolf early but what I don't understand is why she kissed Mason.
"Today we unite under the moon's blessings," Mason said, his voice strong yet hollow.
"You are just a princess with no real strength, Hermione, you're too weak" Lamia said, with desperation creaking in.
"Chief, you allowed this? I am the successor of the throne, how can you push me away after everything my father did for this pack?" my forehead crimsoned in rage.
I turned to Mason, with a lowered voice that became shaky.
"Mason, I thought you were my mate?" I whispered, betrayal twisting in my gut as tears blurred my vision.
"You are not strong enough to be my Luna, I reject you, Hermione Underwood," Mason said.
Those words hit me like a physical blow. The Chief, my father's best friend said "It is done!"
On hearing this, my wolf accepted the rejection. "I accept your rejection," I said and I felt the bond leaving my body and going into the thin air.
"Mason, tell her to leave!" Lamia's voice cracked but I was so shocked that I couldn't move, my hands were shaking inside the white hand gloves I wore.
"Let's continue with the wedding", Chief said, regardless of the injustice he could see through.
"I crown you, Lamia Rando, Luna of Whiteclaw Pack and my partner for life" Mason said as he placed the crown on Lamia's head and the crowd cheered, flowers were thrown in the air and some jestful looks that I got.
It seemed this was planned for over a month because it was so perfect and I suddenly thought about how I disrespected my dad for Mason.
I staggered back, with my heart broken and tears ruining my mascara. I felt the eyes of the pack on me, pity mingled with scorn.
I left the venue in tears and ran to my room wishing my dad was alive.
"I am sorry my princess," my chief bridesmaid said rudely as she caught up with me.
"I do not want your pity," I said to her.
"I think you will need it because they will send you out of the pack house soon," She said, smiling sarcastically
"And you know that because?" I asked her harshly.
"Oh, do not raise your voice at me, you are no longer royalty and I helped them stall you here in the name of dressing you up so that they would be done with the wedding vows". She said, sarcasm steaming in her words.
"And I do not work for you anymore, my sister is the new Luna" She continued as she walked out.
I wailed! Life is hard! I held my chest as it hurts so bad, I cried that I couldn't breath properly.
My dad was just buried last week and everything has already turned upside down.
I removed the wedding dress and tore it into shreds angrily. I just sat on the floor thinking about my dad.
He used to warn me about rogues, he never supported my mate bond with Mason because Mason was a rogue.
I stared at the wedding venue from my window as I remembered the times I snuck out of the house to see Mason not knowing he never really loved me.
Two guards came into my room and dragged me out of my thoughts. Without a word, they held my hands in an attempt to take me somewhere.
"Where do you think you are taking me to without my permission?" I asked and the second guard just lifted me on his shoulders.
I wished I knew how to use my wolf by now, I would have left a mark on this guy's skin hairstyle.
They dropped me in my father's room although it now belongs to Mason and Lamia.
"I think we have had a long day Mason, please let me be," I said and tried to walk out.
"I have not dismissed you," Mason said as he walked up to me in a haste to stop me from leaving.
"Did you ever love me?" I managed to ask him as he held my wrist firmly.
"I did what I had to do Hermione," Mason said with a smirk on his face.
"Mason, I gave my Alpha position to you because I loved you and I wanted to lead by your side but you dumped me" I felt like punching him till I wipe out that smirk from his face.
"You can say that again," Mason said and my heart broke into a million pieces. There's no regret or love in his speech, It was all a lie.
"Mason, our two years together was a joke?" I asked as tears escaped my eyes.
"Jokes on you Hermione," He said bluntly as he adjusted his suit, and his coarse voice pierced through my soul.
"Anyways, you are the new Luna's maid," He continued and I became feisty.
"Mason, you would not do that to me, let me go! I don't want any more trouble" I said with my cracked voice in tears but Lamia immediately entered and she slapped me real hard.
"That's for thinking Mason loved you, we were already engaged but we used you for two years to get to this throne," she said as kissed Mason. He held her waist as they stood like a power couple.
My heart sank as I heard Lamia, I didn't want to believe what I just heard. My life had turned into a mess.
After two days of serving them, I acquired a lot of minor injuries on my beautiful skin. I went to my dad's grave to cry all the time. Yesterday Mason forced wolfbane into my mouth, I survived because I was of royal blood. I can't even believe the Love of my life wants to take my life.
"I am bored," Mason said as he caressed Lamia.
They started kissing each other while I was cleaning the floors.
"Why not give our maid a little show?" Lamia kissed him and made seductive moves to undress. I attempted to leave the room but Mason saw me. "I will banish you if you do not finish your chores"
I do not have another pack so I stayed back and cleaned the floors.
They kissed deeply because they wanted me to watch them. I felt so irritated.
"Oh Lamia, my queen!" Mason said to spite me.
I was so uncomfortable.
"That was some show my Lamia," Mason said and their kiss sounds filled the air.
"Yeah, some boring virgins cannot keep up to that standard my Alpha" Lamia said as they laughed hysterically.
I was done and about to take my leave but they stopped me again, "Wear something nice tomorrow, we are having important guests" Mason said.
"Now! Get out" Lamia said as she locked the doors behind me.
The next day, the rogue king and some other guests arrived to celebrate the union of the rogues and the white claw pack.
At the dining table, I served with the other maids. I'm sure they're surprised "The formal princess is now a maid" Yeah! I would gossip about myself if I was in their shoes.
I heard my name loudly mentioned at the dining table andI quickly walked there to know why.
"Is she Hermione Underwood?" Gordon, the Rogue King asked with a paper in his hands. The paper seemed to have information about me because, at intervals, he stared into it and then at me.
"Yes, at your service. What may I get you?" I asked and everyone on the table laughed mockingly including the Chief.
"She is beautiful and naive, I like her," Gordon said.
"The daughter of the Almighty Alpha" Chief said.
"Late Alpha, you mean," Mason immediately added.
"Well, I will take care of her," Gordon said and everyone laughed. I felt so ashamed but I wondered what was going on.
The pack librarian took the paper from him and sealed it with the stamp "Sold"
