Bailey Russo dated Adrian Brooke throughout her university and they made a vow to marry each other after graduation. But on the days of their graduation, Adrian took her best friend as his plus one and publicly embarrassed Bailey as a despicable girl. Bailey was heartbroken and humiliated. After three years, When Bailey crossed paths with Adrian again, she noticed he still has lingering feelings, but she wasn't that girl from years back, she was now everything he hated and called despicable.
As the streetlights began to glow, the city of Mexican was awash in the warmth of lanterns and peopled nightlife just about to commence.
Mesmerizing Bar, Bailey stood holding a few bottles of red wine, paused at the entrance of private room 305. Adorned in her service uniform, a glimpse of helplessness flickered in her eyes. However, she had no choice but to do this, particularly since Adrian would be present tonight...
With a deep breath, she steadied her emotions and nervously knocked on the door of private room 305.
Immediately, all the eyes within the room fell on Bailey.
Scanning the room, she did not see Adrian, some disappointment coloring her eyes.
She had probed earlier; Adrian would be negotiating business with Mr. Kelvin at the Mesmerizing Bar tonight. The latter was present, but he was nowhere to be seen - could he not have arrived yet?
Caught in her thoughts, the greasy-faced Mr. Kelvin in the middle of the seats waved at her, "Waitress, you're slow with the wine, what are you doing standing at the door? Come in quickly!"
At Mr. Kelvin's comment, a lewd-eyed man nearby scanned Bailey and chuckled, "Mr. Kelvin, this chick's really something, huh? You're in for a treat tonight!"
Although there were already a few 'princesses' in the room, their thick makeup couldn't really compare to Bailey's fresh-faced beauty.
Upon closer inspection, Mr. Kelvin indeed found Bailey very attractive. His gaze became even more unbridled.
The man from earlier, whose intentions were far from good, had already approached Bailey. He yanked her into the private room and planted her right next to Mr. Kelvin.
"Come on, introduce Mr. Kelvin to the wine. What's special about them?"
As he spoke, the man tried to grope Bailey's back.
Bailey was utterly embarrassed. She was now squeezed between two men in an already crowded seat, with the addition of her, it became a real squeeze.
Mr. Kelvin, with interest in his eyes, extended his greasy hand and placed it directly on her leg.
Bailey was startled and nearly dropped the tray full of wine in her hand. Hurriedly, she stood up and carefully placed the bottle of red wine on the table, saying apologetically, "I'm sorry, let me introduce you to the red wine first!"
She placed the tray on the table, uncorked the bottle with practiced ease, picked up a wine glass, and poured a glass of red wine.
This was her job and she was diligent about it. However, her earnest demeanor utterly captivated Mr. Kelvin.
Her upper body was slightly bent forward, accentuating her silhouette, and something in Mr. Kelvin stirred. Suddenly, he grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms.
Bailey was taken completely off guard and wound up with the red wine spilled all over her. Her white blouse was soaked through, revealing the undergarment underneath.
Mr. Kelvin's eyes smoldered with heat while his hand roamed freely over her back.
"Miss, standing while introducing is such a bore," he said with a grin. "Isn't it much better to hold you like this?"
He brought his face close to her neck, taking a deep sniff.
Bailey struggled, her face full of anger, "I am not a miss, please let me go!"
Even though she was a waitress in a bar, she was not a plaything.
Mr. Kelvin ignored her protests, and their tussling caused her clothes to become disheveled.
She was all at once anxious and angry, and seeing the amused spectators around, her heart plummeted further.
"Bam!"
The door was flung open, and everyone in the room turned to look.
Bailey was no exception. When she saw the tall man standing in the doorway, dusted with travel, her body trembled.
Adrian...
Three years had passed, yet he was still as noble and handsome as ever, the ideal man in every woman's heart.
Once, he was her ideal man, too.
"Bailey, I will love you, cherish you for a lifetime, and never let you suffer any grievances."
His words that night were still as clear as if they had just been spoken yesterday.
Bailey's gaze was somewhat hazy as she foolishly stared at the man in front of her.
His gaze was like a sharp blade, coolly sweeping across her face, piercing through her memories. Her fingertips dug deeply into the palm of her hand, hiding her heart full of sadness.
Adrian magnetic voice floated over, "Mr. Kelvin, I'm sorry for being late due to the traffic, please forgive me."
"Oh, Adrian, don't be so formal, we're bros, sit down, sit down!"
Although Mr. Kelvin was talking, he didn't stand up, still holding Bailey tightly.
Adrian pursed his lips and went into the box. The man next to Mr. Kelvin immediately stood up and gave his seat to Adrian
Bailey kept her head down, dared not to look at Adrian. She knew, he must have seen her now.
She didn't even know what to do.
Three years had passed, and this was her first encounter with him, yet it was in such an awkward situation.
When he sat down next to Mr. Kelvin, she found it hard to breathe.
She moved slightly, trying to stand up, but Mr. Kelvin held her even tighter, casting a lecherous glance at Adrian, "Bailey, they say that every beautiful woman comes from Mexican, I see it now. Even this bar can produce such elegant beauties."
As Mr. Kelvin spoke, his greasy hand grabbed Bailey's thigh.
Bailey was about to jump up in panic, but heard Adrian mocking voice, "Mr. Kelvin may not know, the more elegant the appearance, the more dirty and ugly the heart is. You must not be deceived by appearances."
