Prologue
"Uh, stop... ahh, no more..." The she-wolf's plea fell on deaf ears as Ronan switched their position, bending her over, taking her from behind. He didn't mean to fuck her bloody, but still, he wasn't satisfied. It was another full moon without finding his mate, and the beast in him would fuck any damn feminine thing.
"You would kill her. Get the fuck out of there; we have something more important to do than that shit," Damien warned from outside the door, but Ronan wasn't listening.
A loud feral growl reverberated through the room, Ronan's wolf threatening to hit the surface as his nails dug into her hips. She was running out of breath, a low whimper leaving her lips. Fresh blood from her flesh stuck to his nails.
"Ronan, hold that shit now." Damien's voice grated on his nerves, earning another beastly growl from him.
"Shut the fuck up," Ronan growled, his voice low, husky, and guttural. Frustration settled in when he couldn't cum, still as hard as a rock. "Damn the moon," he muttered, a bitter laugh erupting from his throat as he pulled away from her. She fell like a rag doll onto the bed, which was wobbling already, the headboard completely ruined.
"You did great." He grabbed the she wolf by the neck, pecking her cheeks lightly before throwing one of his shirts at her. She was great because she was still breathing fine.
"I would come in," Damien said, anger laced in his voice as he burst through the door. He stared at Ronan as he wore his denim pants. "You need to learn to stop going crazy when there is a full moon."
"I learned to stop keeping my wolf at bay when the moon goddess decided to deny me a mate." Ronan gave Damien one last glance before pushing past him. "Do you still think I should pay a surprise visit to Father's wedding?" He paused, smirking. "Wouldn't it end up being bad luck for the groom and his bride... an unexpected guest coming to a wedding signifies what again?"
"That should be his twentieth wife and part of the hundreds he's gotten intimate with. That ain't any bad luck," Damien said behind Ronan.
A side smile almost reaching Ronan's ears stood defiantly in his face as he felt the scar on his face pull. "I should give them something to talk about."

A CAT AND A KITTEN
Arkansas, USA.
"You won't disgrace me, do you hear me? You'll do whatever he asks you to do because you are his, his property... he bought you, get it?" Elysia's father's harsh voice echoed as he gripped her cheek tightly, forcing her to look at him.
Elysia stared back, dead in the eyes, feeling the ache of his nails digging slightly into her cheek. She was done wondering, done hoping, done wishing. Nothing was going to be better. She had just turned eighteen two days ago, and she couldn't live the life of a human or even that of a normal she-wolf, entitled to find her mate at this age.
The most ridiculous part was that she didn't even know what side she fell on. She had no wolf, yet she was born to beta wolves who wouldn't let her feel the love of being their daughter. She was considered the weakest of the weak in the pack and was sent to live with humans when her father thought the bullying was enough. But it wasn't pity that made him do it-it was the disgust and hatred for her.
Elysia's mother, on the other hand, was just a pawn to her father, devoid of any emotions. She never dared to talk back at him, even when he was wrong. She hated what he hated, which was clearly Elysia, and loved what he loved, which was her sister, who gave them more hope.
They had been preparing her for this day, even going so far as to teach her how to use a dildo at the age of sixteen, becoming even more flexible, mostly around the waist side... just to satisfy the Alpha they sold her to. Alpha of their pack-no, it wasn't hers-Alpha of her family's pack, that old man who didn't consider himself old yet because of his young physique, Alpha Jaxon Dravon of the Nightshade pack.
"I need words when I talk to you, Elysia," her father tried to keep his anger at bay. He wouldn't want to hurt the property of his alpha now, no, he wouldn't want her to look more rotten in the Alpha's eyes.
"Yes, Father." He released her as he used the exit, and her mother came in, not giving her a glance as she began helping with the train of her gown. Not even a fake compliment from her. A glare or look of distaste, just like Father, would have been better to know what she felt toward her.
"You should be glad someone is willing to marry you and the alpha at that."
Was she considered just trash? Her eyes were dried of tears, and she could remember that fifteen-year-old girl who would have cried a pool around her if she were in a similar situation..that was her younger self "What do I mean to you, Mother?" The question she had been wanting to ask her for years of being her daughter.
What her mother said next knocked the breath out of her.
"Just like you mean nothing to the pack, your presence just being like a weed, the sight of you all too irritating... You mean nothing as well to me. I regretted the day I hadn't just given you out to the alpha to have you for dinner at birth, but we are still doing the same... you are still his, but a property now... at least you are being useful for the first time."
She thought that would hurt Elysia? And yes, it did, but she covered it up with a smile, seeing a slight look of confusion cross her mother's face.
Jaxon sat on the throne, his smile curling like a vine on his face as he played with a glass of wine in his hand. His face packed with hair as he watched Elysia walk down the aisle.
Slight murmuring came from his pack members, whispering about the worthless girl venturing into the room. To the humans who knew wolves existed, the wolves were considered beasts, but to the real beasts, she was the beast.
A gasp left everyone's lips-and hers-when a black cat dropped dead from above, landing right in front of her, halting her steps. Something liquid trickled onto her face until it reached her nose before she noticed how red and thick it was-blood.
"I have always known she was nothing but bad luck. Why does the alpha choose to take pity on her and marry her? She is meant to be thrown in the forest of the damned."
She wasn't shaken by the words going around her but by the blood that still stayed glued to her face. She hated blood. She trembled slightly, looking down at the floor.
"Walk!" The alpha's voice pulled her back out of her trance, and the tall man stood from his seat right on the altar. Two women, who she knew to be his other wives, began walking toward her to help her to their husband, who was going to be her husband too.
As soon as she got to the altar, she stood right in front of Jaxon, who had gotten back in his seat. The pack shaman came forward in a white ceremonial robe, holding an ancient staff.
"Under the blessed gaze of the moon goddess," his voice was loud enough to cover the murmurs. "We gather here to bind Alpha Jaxon Dravon and Elysia Spencer, daughter of the beta of our pack."
Jaxon suddenly stood, towering over her, gripping her hand tightly.
"By the authority of the pack and blessing from the moon goddess, I hereby bind you in this union."
"Father."
A masculine voice cut through the air.
Her breath hitched.
She turned-last of all-to face the man at the doorway.
And when his lips moved, she thought she heard the word that could have changed everything.
"Mate."
I'll haunt your every step Lia." His whispers send shivers down her spine. He would stop at nothing to claim her. ~ No one cares about her, not even her father who pushed her into the devil's den with a smile on his face because he wanted an alliance.
