" Hello? Is that how you greet your mother" Mrs. Chan scolded.
" Good morning mother! I had no idea it was your number , it's been quite a while since we spoke"
" You don't have to sound so pathetic, how are you doing over there?" Mrs. Chan asked
" At least better than you thought I would be, let's skip the pleasantries, what do you want?" Yoo-na asked walking around her room.
" Tsk! You mean I can't call my own daughter to know how she is doing?" Mrs. Chan said abruptly.
" I'm hanging up now" Yoo-na warned.
" I need you back in Seoul as soon as possible" Mrs. Chan said swiftly.
My eyes widened in shock " SEOUL!! You want me to return to Seoul."
" I just want to see my Nina again, it's been too long since we last saw each other , and I'm also worried you aren't doing too well without me " Mrs. Chan said this time her voice laced with sincerity.
" It's pointless worrying about me, I'm an adult, capable of taking care of herself, I can live on my own"
" What if I said I had a tumor and was dying soon? would you come then...?" Mrs. Chan asked, her voice cracking
"What! Even the tumor wouldn't want to be hosted by you, " Yoo-na shot back hung up the call.
Yoo-na deeply exhaled as she moved towards the window gasing at the city, It's has been five years since she has been to Seoul and suddenly her mother wants her back, the bond between Yoo-na and her mother wasn't that strong, so there was no way she wanted her back just because she missed her.
"Fishy" Yoo-na muttered to herself as she booked her flight tickets.
Hours later Yoo-na found herself on the soil of Seoul again, but the moment she stepped out the heavens opened and it began to rain heavily, at this point she resented herself and every idea of returning to Seoul, she felt like nothing was going to stop her from booking another flight back to New York at least except her mother's assistant who came running towards her with an umbrella.
" Oh my goodness! You're soaked, I'm very sorry Ms. Chan please forgive me" Mr. Bae said bowing.
" It's fine" Yoo -na replied shivering.
" We should get you new clothes so you don't catch a cold" Mr. Bae suggested concerned.
" I'm sure I'm colder than the weather itself by now" Yoo-na said and walked towards the car, she got in a sat at in the drivers sit waiting for Mr. Bae.
" Ms. Chan you must be really exhausted let me drive you home" Mr. Bae offered with a smile.
" Are you telling me to get down?" Yoo-na asked, raising an eyebrow.
" No Ms. I would never, but if I let you drive Mrs. Chan isn't going to spear me" Mr. Bae said pathetically.
" You have a family right? Take a cab and go home" Yoo-na said and drove off.
Yoo-na got home to meet a lady at the door step smiling at her.
" She made you wait here in this weather, didn't she?" Yoo-na asked.
" Welcome back Ms." The lady said bowing.
Yoo-na walked past her and went straight up to her room, she didn't last a minute before she heard a knock on her door, opening the door she found the same lady smiling at her.
" What do you want?" Yoo-na asked.
" I'm Kim Hanuel, and I have been assigned as your personal maid" Hanuel replied.
" Go home" Yoo-na said almost shutting her door.
Hanuel dropped on her kneels and bowed " Please ma'am I can't loose my job now, don't throw me out please"
" Oh my! Get up right now, you can stay but I don't need you following me around with a smile like that, it's creepy"
" Thank you Ms. Chan, I have prepared a hot bath for you and hot choco to suit the weather"
" Thank you" Yoo-na said shutting the door, she leaned on the door muttering t
"This might be worse than I thought ".
