Jack and Jill were young adults who started as childhood friends and became lovers but life led them on two different paths. She wanted to escape the small-town life and he wanted to get married and settle down. But distance made her heart grow fonder for him, yet her absence made his heart grow colder towards her. When Jill returned to Thornsberry to reaffirm her love for Jack, she was rejected because there was another love in his life, Cindy Von. Jill chose to leave Thornsberry permanently after Jack denied her and confessed his love for Cindy. The night before her departure, there was an assault reported on Jack and Jill, which left them both lying unconscious, but no one knew who was responsible. And there was no sign of Cindy Von.
It was dark and Cindy and Jack were making out by the well. There was a loud thump to the back of Jack's head then he collapsed on the ground and rolled down the hill. There was a dark figure behind Cindy Von, but before she could react or turn completely around, she was hit on the side of her neck and in the back of her head with a metal
object. She screamed out, "Aaaah!" Then she was pushed inside the well, falling all the way down to the bottom, where she passed out.
It was morning and Cindy was waking up to darkness, but when she looked up, she could see the clear blue skies. She thought she was having a bad dream. There was pain all over her body and she had a terrible headache. The well was old and musty with cold concrete at the bottom. Cindy could barely move around, because of the sharp pains she was feeling. She rolled her body over the broken pieces of the branches underneath her. She was trying to remember what happened and how she got inside the well.
Branches and roots were sticking out of the walls of the well, which broke her fall but caused bruises, minor cuts, and pain to her body. But if she had hit the concrete directly, she would have suffered a few broken or fractured bones. Cindy figured she had to be with Jack before the accident happened, but something went wrong.... But what happened, and who was responsible? She wondered where was Jack and if he was the reason she was inside the well. At that moment Cindy's thoughts were a blur, she was scared and confused. She screamed as loud as she could, hoping someone was around to hear her.
"HEEELP! HEEELP! PLEASE HELP ME! SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP ME!!"
There was no answer and no one seemed to be around or near the well. Cindy knew on the weekends the park had lots of Thornsberry residents hanging out, she remembered the first time Jack took her to the park. She couldn't even remember what day it was or how she got inside the well. Her stomach was growling, because she was hungry and thirsty, but that was another problem she had no solution for. Cindy thought about rodents and bugs being inside the well with her in the darkness that would soon fill the well after the sun went down. The daylight from the outside gave some light inside the well but not enough to make her feel safe. She had to use the bathroom but she could hardly see anything so she held it in for a while, hoping someone would realize she was missing and would come looking for her. But Cindy didn't remember if she told her parents or friends of her whereabouts. She lay on her back looking up at the sky, watching as the day became night. She rolled over and closed her eyes so she wouldn't have to see the darkness but think about getting out of the well to be with her family again.
