"You know what Mrs. Simpson is like, you shouldn't be surprised. I keep telling you to study before her class," I reminded her.
"Of course, that's your advice, you nerd!"
"I wasn't giving advice, just saying-hey, get your own chips," I scolded her as she reached for more of my snacks.
I didn't come from a very wealthy family like Elsa. Her father is a renowned chef, and her mother owns boutiques around the world. My father passed away in a car accident, leaving my mother and me with the funds he'd left behind. I used some of it to pay for my college fees.
My mother is a nurse, and I'm her only child. She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, and I inherited most of her features. I have hazel eyes, long black hair that falls to my shoulders, and heart-shaped rosy lips.
Waking up, I checked my phone; it was 8am. I got out of bed, headed to the bathroom for a quick shower, and passed by Elsa's room. I was sure she was still sleeping like a baby-after all, it was Saturday. Heading to the kitchen, I opened the fridge and decided to make pancakes. Once I was done, I covered Elsa's portion and left a note telling her I was going out for a walk. It wasn't the first time I'd done so; she wouldn't be surprised.
As I stroll along the quiet path, the peacefulness of the day suddenly shattered by muffled screams pierces my ears. Startled, I quickened my pace, my heart racing with apprehension.
Following the sound, she spots a gruesome scene unfolding before her eyes.
In a secluded spot off the trail, she sees a dead man lying on the ground, a pool of blood slowly spreading beneath him. Standing over him is an older man, his face contorted with fear, a gun held to his head by another figure whose features are obscured in the shadows.
My breath catches in my throat as i realize the gravity of the situation.
I think I have seen enough I have to leave this place before anyone notices me but I was too late before I could move someone held my arm and dragged me and pushed me to the floor, I yelped when I hit the floor with my ass, how can he just throw me like I was some kind of ragged doll.
"Who the fuck are you?" a deep voice said and i raised my head and my hazel eyes came in contact with a dark eyes, it's soo black I feel him staring into my soul. I need to act smart otherwise i will end up like the two dead men.
"I... I didn't see anything I promise, please don't kill me" I said close to tears, I really didn't want to die, I haven't even explored the world yet.
"Boss, i think we should just kill her to avoid future problems."
"If you kill me, what about the surveillance? I am sure the police are on their way."
"You don't need to worry about that little mouse. You should be more worried about yourself,"
Did he just call me a mouse? he is right. I don't need to worry about that. My life is in danger. God, please help me.
"I promise you I won't say a word to anyone, please just let me go."
"If I hear a word you're dead, got that?"
"Yes, thank you so much," I said and immediately left the place before he changed his mind.
I ran away from there, getting to the apartment I slumped on the sofa. "You look like shit," Elsa said, sitting beside me. "I went for a walk, remember?" I stood up
"Where are you going?"
"To my room, Elsa, I'm really tired,"
Only if she knows what I went through just now, and I can't tell her I don't want to put her in any problem.
Waking up after throwing my alarm to the other side of the room, this is the third time I'm changing my alarm. It's Monday. Oh, i hate Mondays. I stood up had my bath, took out a pair of jeans and t-shirt, wore my shoe a applied my lip gloss that's my make-up I don't really put on make up and Elsa tells me I look beautiful without a make-up on. I let my hair down, did a middle parting, and went straight to the kitchen where Elsa was already there fixing breakfast. As usual, her dressing is top notch she dress's like Alexa Damie she says Alexa is her idol. Elsa knows all the latest fashion trends.
As Elsa and I strolled hand in hand into the college, we were greeted by the bustling atmosphere of students rushing to their classes. Suddenly, a small, feminine voice broke through the noise. "Sorry, do you know where Mr Gibson's office is?" I turned to see the owner of the voice, a girl dressed in an adorable all-pink outfit. From her attire, it was clear she hailed from a wealthy family, her fashion sense mirroring Elsa's.
"Oh my goodness, you look stunning!" exclaimed Elsa. "I'm Elsa, and this is Ceceila, or Cece for short. Is that the new Hermes necklace?"
"Yes, and I'm Theresa, Tessa for short," the girl replied with a smile. "It's nice to meet you both, and you both look amazing."
"It seems like you're new here," I observed.
"Yep, I was transferred here because my overly protective brother wants me to be closer to him so he can keep an eye on me," Tessa explained. "I have to go now; I'm meeting someone about my apartment."
Elsa's eyes lit up with an idea as Tessa mentioned her apartment. "Hey, Tessa, why don't you stay with us?" she suggested eagerly.
Tessa paused, surprised by the offer. "Oh, I couldn't impose like that," she replied, shaking her head.
Elsa waved off her concerns. "Nonsense! We have plenty of space, and it would be great to have another girl around. Plus, it would be so much fun!"
