"This ends when you are entirely Mine, you are running towards a dead end where the only way out is to surrender to me. And trust me, you will get there because I have a thousand ways of chasing, some of which you won't enjoy." His husky, Alpha voice makes my body stiffen, but I shoot him a glare anyway. "Fuck off!" I hiss in a firm voice. ****** Isabelle's life took a dark turn after her pack was brutally attacked by the formidable armies of Silvermoon pack and her family taken captive. ISABELLE'S POV
"Oh, my God!" Look how breathtaking she is!" My astounded servant exclaims gaping at the stunning figure of princess Charlotte as she gracefully steps off her father's royal carriage. Her elegance is unmistakable.
Her styled hair is full of golden beads that match the color of her flowing gown whose long tail is held by her five servants. She looks ethereal. It's so easy to see why the angel prince, Hayden, has fallen for her.
"I am sorry to say this but they will definitely turn us back. You don't exactly look like a royal princess when compared to that elegant lady." My other servant Mandy, observes in a nervous tone and I shrug.
Yes, I look nothing like a princess. That's because I am not one. Princess Charlotte is attractive and beautiful, unlike me. I could not find a grand convoy surrounded by knights and fine carriages adored with fine silks. But I won't let that hider me from getting what I am here for.
It has been five years since the army of silvermoon led by alpha Cedric and his son, Hayden, raided my small pack despite us being allies. My mother, the Luna and the whole pack was loyal to him, yet the bastard stabbed us in the back as if it was nothing.
The army had ravaged through the whole pack plundering and killing innocent people. I myself would have not survived if a stranger had not saved me from the shimmering flames our attackers had set on the packhouse.
Most of the survivors were taken captives and for some of us who managed to escape, we ended up seeking shelter in the rouge's territories.
For years I have been looking for ways to infiltrate into Cedric's kingdom to find out whether my family is still alive. This is the best chance I have come across so far, and I am not letting it slip away now that King Cedric is holding a grand feast to celebrate his son's engagement to princess Charlotte of Black Wolves pack.
His son, Hayden, is the most famous being across all lands. Most famous than all the rich and noble kings of any kingdom. This is because he phased Inyo something extraordinary when he turned nineteen.
There are several different kinds of werewolves that one can phase into after reaching the age of eighteen or sometimes nineteen. But there is no other being that has ever phased into an Angel with stunning wings. Prince Hayden was the first and so far the last person to phase into something so unique and astounding.
All royal men and women that got an invitation for the party are here today. I luckily found out I share the same name with the princess of Arden pack in the south and also managed to make a disguise of their royal crest.
I didn't think that I needed an extravagant convoy to actually look like a refined royal woman. I won't turn back nevertheless, opportunities like this are hard to come by.
I watch as the guards at the gate bow their heads in respect as the famous Princess makes her way in through the open gate, her majestic walk catching the attention of every person in sight.
The front door of the magnificent palace opens and a tall, mascular figure in a fitting black outfit steps out and walks down the steps, two servants and an elegantly dressed woman follow behind. The man looks dashing enough to be the renowned Prince Hayden, the man who lead his father's army to attack our pack.
Who would think that someone so evil would look so strikingly handsome?
"I imagine that every female servant in his father's palace is secretly in love with him." Mandy says. " Does he actually have wings or is it just rumors?"
"Yes, he has them. But believe me there is nothing as angelic about his character." I answer.
He has always been rumoured by people to be a true embodiment of perfection, but I really don't see any perfection in raiding and killing the innocent. What he did was pure evil. A kind of evil no one can ever forgive. Unfortunately everyone is too starry eyed and blinded by his beauty and powers to see the monster lurking on the inside.
"They will let us in, don't worry. I know what to say." I assure my servants before stepping off my undecorated carriage. They do the same and follow behind looking nervous and awed.
"Promise we will turn back at first sight of trouble." Claire's worried voice says from behind me and I nod.
But it's a lie. I have come too far to turn back now. I'm also scared that we might end up being discovered but the pain of loosing my family and not knowing what happened to them is greater.
As soon as we get to the entrance, we are stopped by four guards standing at the front. Seems like Mandy was right, they always respect only those who have good looks, pretty faces and wealth. But I ain't turning back.
"Sorry Miss, the commoners are using the back entrance." One says in an irritated tone looking repulsed by our mere presence.
"I believe you have addressed me wrongly. I am no commoner." I say confidently causing all of them to burst into a fit of laughter.
"We don't care who you are, My lady." One says snidely still trying to stifle his laughter. "We have strict orders to not let anyone pass through here without proper identification."
"I am princess Isabella of the kingdom of Arden, from the south." I say plainly, making sure they'll recognize the royal tittle.
They exchange a look and then burst out laughing again."You expect us to believe that a princess rides with two simple servants and dresses like a commoner? You look nothing like a princess!"
"I am who I say I am!" I insist. "Why would I lie?"
"You are nothing but a commoner trying to sneak into our palace." One says drawing out his weapon. "We know that the kingdom of Arden perished after it was attacked." He says.
"Seems your disguise isn't convincing enough." One of my servant whispers in my ear.
"Then something else might work." I whisper back reaching into the corset of my dress and produce the royal crest of Anders and holds it up for them to see as I subconsciously step forward.
"It bears the embrem of the kingdom of Anders!" One exclaims, their eyes narrowing. "She is an imposter! seize her!"
"Step away from the gate now!" One shouts as the rest immediately draw out their weapons to prevent me from advancing further.
"Oh Hell!" My servants exclaims , loudly backing away at the sudden show of aggression from the guards.
"How dare you treat a royal with such disrespect?" I protest loudly.
"You're no royal!" The guards snaps taking hold of my arms. "We will take you into custody until we can prove your identity."
Their grip on my arms tighten and they start pulling me away from the gate.
"What is the meaning of this? Let her go!" The prince's deep and commanding voice makes the guards freeze and they hesitantly let me go.
Apparently our confrontation has managed to garner the attention of the handsome devil and also of some of the guest who were also coming in, they have halted to enjoy the scene.
I straighten my back and stare at my life sworn enemy. His piercing grey eyes seems to look deep in my soul and his confident strides towards us fills me with anxiety. He moves with grace and fluidity that is almost otherworldly. In simple, he is the most attractive man I have seen in flesh.
Such a shame someone so pretty possesses what I think is the ugliest of hearts. His perfect features are just a mask of his true nature.
"Your highness, this woman claims to be princess isabella of Anders. But we have reason to believe she is an imposter." One of the guards explains pointing at me.
The prince raises an eyebrow, studying us carefully.
"Let me speak with her." He says and the guards step aside.
My pounding heart almost knocks me off my feet as the gorgeous devil takes a couple of steps forward, until he is right in front of me.
Even this close his appearance emits nobility and elegance. But there is something more off. The fact that I have this strange feeling that I have seen his features before. I try to remember where but nothing rings a bell. Maybe I am imagining things.
"Introduce yourself?" He demands, looking at me with a stern expression.
"Your majesty," I bow slightly. "I understand your guards caution but I can assure you I am princess Isabella, daughter of king Edward of Anders."
"Princess Isabelle, you say?" He raises an eyebrow, scepticism vivid on his face. "I must admit that I don't remember receiving any notification of your visit."
"Yes, it was a last minute decision, my Lord. "I say meeting his gaze directly. "My apologies if my visit has inconvenienced the order of your celebration in any way. My assumption was that you wouldn't mind adding one more guest to your beautiful engagement ceremony." I add and he hesitantly nods.
"Her dressing and attitude are not exactly projecting an image of a noble woman, my lord." One of the guards intervenes but the prince holds up his hand and I know this was my best chance to turn the situation into my own advantage.
"I'm sorry your highness. I normally conduct myself with grace as a princess should, but your guards were rude and didn't deserve any of my courtesy."
The prince regards me with astounded eyes for a moment then nods. "Very well, princess Isabelle we owe you an apology." He says his voice softening. His eyes still holds a hint of suspicion but he hides it with a nonchalant look.
"There is nothing to apologize for your highness. I am sure your men didn't intend to offend me." I say.
"Let her through." He nods to the guards and I inwardly sigh in relief.
They all still look skeptical, but they have no choice but to obey their prince.
I feel a sense of relief as they open the gates fully and step aside.
"Please go on in my lady. I'll escort you the rest of the way." One of the guards say and I fake a grateful smile while gesturing at my maids to follow.
As we follow the guard towards the palace court yard I can still feel the rest of them glare at the back of my head.
"I hope my future mate is as beautiful as that Prince." Mandy says and I scowl at her.
"What? The fact that he is a bad person doesn't mean I don't find him physically attractive." She defends.
