CHAPTER 1
Before beginning a new job, I always find myself overcome with anxiety. Interacting with people and helping them feel comfortable while bringing out their finest appearance is what makes me happy. However, I honestly can't do that without that sensation in the pit of my stomach, which overcomes me with anxiety.
A building and design firm hired me to update the company's details across the board and bring me on on-site visits to each of their projects. They are preparing for a fresh launch and would like my creative ideas. I decided to accept the position since the contract will benefit me greatly. And second, it was a great compliment that such a big company like theirs hired me.
One last look over my preparations confirms that the corporate details will go off without a hitch regarding preparation and setup. Looking at the list, there is a lot of corporate information from all the employees and staff.
I was considering coffee at this moment.
As I went to the cafe, I couldn't help but be enamored with the person before me. I have never met men more manly than those I have encountered here. And his complexion is just gorgeous. He might be better than he is. This man is genuinely captivating. What a sight.
The coffee maker has built-in directions, so I can make my own. Coffee that has just been ground. It smells so good! You can refer to me as a coffee addict if you like. However, my taste buds differ on this beverage, and I enjoy the higher-quality varieties. You can tell by the aroma of these beans that they don't skimp on the quality of their coffee.
As I pick up my steaming cup of love, I begin sketching positions in my thoughts. The Chief Executive Officer and the other higher-ups will require more imaginative photographs.
As I get lost in thought, I fail to see someone standing behind me. Someone must have a poor grasp of the concept of 'personal space,' which means they are standing inappropriately close to me. A steaming mug filled with coffee. I am a woman, and I remember hunky men that I encounter. And he is the one earlier: A crisp, white button-down shirt. But lucky for me, because of my stupidity, I spilled my coffee over him.
"Shoot! I am so sorry."
"Damnit, aw!"
This individual quickly tore off his shirt before I could even consider my foolishness. He is hot. Indeed, the coffee I spilled on him was as hot as his. Forgive my stupidity, please.
I'm taking a closer look at him to determine whether or not he has suffered any burns and whether or not I need to get the first aid kit. He asked me something, but I didn't hear it.
What did he say?
Nope. Nothing seems to be happening around me. I am acting in a very creepy manner. Now, I am not a virgin; I have had no problem whatsoever seeing topless men in the past.
But in all seriousness, wow, this should be in a magazine. The gentleman standing before me is clothed in gray tailored pants and shoes with wingtips. He has lengthy legs and is muscular, and his perfume smells nice. The belt is made of black leather and features a silver buckle etched with a wolf. He is in such incredible shape that a V points downward, and an appetizing trail leads down from his naval. He had a stunning six-pack, but the left side of his body was covered in deep scars. It has four distinct, deep grooves. His pecks emanate an aura of ability to induce movement, and the one on his right bears an intricate tribal tattoo that compels one to approach it tentatively with fingertips. His biceps are as muscular as my thighs, and he has a broad yet lengthy neck that leads up to, oh my gosh. I don't even know what to say.
He appears to be very enraged. I'm just saying. The level of rage that he is experiencing is simply oozing off of him. If I look at him sufficiently long, I'm willing to bet that smoke is coming out of his nose and fire out of his ears. Crap.
It's possible it was an accident, but that eye-humping was unnecessary. Having said that, how could I not? I am a living, breathing human being with eyes standing in front of the most dashing and fiercely gorgeous man I have ever seen. To be honest, you can disregard that. On second thought, his facial expression makes me want to run and hide in the closet closest to where I am right now.
I look around, grab a tea towel, quickly soak it in cold water, and dash over to him. I grab his arm and shove the towel into his hand while urging him to wrap the towel around his torso.
When I do that, a loud gasp behind me immediately brings me to attention. Huh? When I turn over my shoulder, I see that everyone else has their heads lowered, and immediately behind me is a young man of about the same age, looking quite terrified. It's as if he were observing my demise in the presence of a lion or something similar. What was it about it that worried them?
I can tell by the direction of his glance that he is looking at my hold on the attractive man's arm. When I look up at the handsome guy, he expresses complete surprise. What is the big deal here? As soon as I've finished clearing my throat, it's time for me to take care of the issue.
"May I ask how you are, sir?" I genuinely did not intend to sound malicious. I then speak again. "Here. Put this on you to help relieve the pain of the burn, and in exchange for your shirt, I'll do my best to save it as soon as possible."
The guy looked at me as if I had asked him a complicated life-related math question. After that, he looked at me for a longer time than before. When our eyes meet briefly, my throat becomes dry, my heart rate quickens, and I feel like a chill is beginning to creep over my palms.
