I walked down the stairs of my apartment with my laptop in my hand.

I know you must be wondering what I am doing….

Well, I am looking for a job.

I have been looking for a job for months now …but all the stupid looking old fools want something from me…

Any first day of new work, the bosses try to hit on me.

Arrghhhh….

Is it that they are séx starved or what?

It makes me sick.

I reached my little sitting room and started operating my laptop as I browsed, hoping to at least see a better job again.

Sorry, my manners, my name is Scarlett Brendan. I am twenty-two years. I was living In Texas but moved here to Italy five months ago.

My family still lives in California, though.

Not really my family but my mother.

My mom is actually a sex worker.

I don't even know my father if you ask me.

My mom hates me so much.

She says I am her worse mistake, but my grandma is a very lovely woman

Her name is Celine.

Whenever my mother hits me, she will be there to save me.

She was like my guardian angel.

My grandma Celine told me my mom wanted to abort me, but she couldn't because the doctor informed her that she might not survive it.

Grandma, Celine, took care of me while I was a child and I love her so much.

I also have an elder brother who is five years older than me, well, mom got pregnant for a man she dearly loved and gave birth to my brother Dante…but the man ran away and never showed up to take responsibility.,so mom went back to being a sex worker and that was how I came into the picture after five years.

My life isn't as good as you might think, though because I am from a very poor background.

Mom has been on my neck to go into her kind of lifestyle, but I will never sell my body because of money.

That is why I am searching for an online job.

The front door opened and my best friend Rosaline walked in.

I met Rosaline five months ago when I arrived in Italy at the airport.

Although she is from a middle-class family, but she relocated because she wanted to be on her own.

So she rented an apartment and we both lived together.

She has been a great friend to me.

“Rosaline, where have you been? “ I asked.

Well, she left the house since morning and didn't tell me where she was going.

“I went to the beach. I wanted to clear my head away from some things.”

I looked at her.

Did anything come up?

Does she have a problem?

Are her parents okay?

“Why….what happened”? I questioned.

“I feel like Frederick is cheating on me. He hardly picks my calls and even gives silly excuse. I'm just tired.” she said, removing her heels.

“Oops!!! I chuckled, she glared at me.

“Sorry…but this is one of the reasons why I told you I will never make a mistake of having a boyfriend. I can't come and be stressing my brain because of one son of Adam that will ignore me later.” I said.

She rolled her eyes at me.

“Girl, you don't know what you are saying. I'm sure that you are just blabbing. You probably haven't seen a man who will steal that pretty little heart of yours yet ….” She said, and I scoffed.

“It can't happen because I don't let guys get into me.” I said and faced by laptop back.

“Yeah, but if you keep living like this because of your mother's story, I'm afraid you will chase away a good guy once he comes, and mark my words. You definitely need a hot, sexy Greek god in your life.” she cheered.

I just rolled my eyes.

“I don't need it. I don't want them. I have better things to do than to give a man my heart.” I said, and continued operating my laptop.

“Fine, fine, fine. Anyway, what are you doing? She asked, coming to seat beside me.

“I am doing a job hunting online “I said and she smiled.

“Let me help you, there is this company I heard about. It's a very nice company and one of the leading companies in Italy and abroad. Ughhmmm, What is the name again? She hummed as she thought for a while.

"Yessss..... I remember now. It's called … ROCCO'S CO-OPERATION….” She said.

I frowned.

“What's ROCCO'S CO-OPERATION? I asked.

“Don't tell me you haven't heard of Rocco's cooperation before? Even a newborn child here in Italy knows this company! It is one of the largest and wealthiest companies in the world.” she said.

“And trust me girl, It takes only brilliant people to work there and since you are brilliant, I'm pretty sure they will hire you. It is even stated here that there is a vacancy and an interview going on next week, so you better be ready to go.” she informed.

Wow.

Really?

I should give it a trial then.

“You said next week, right?”

“Yeah, next week on Monday.” she said happily, and I just smiled.

“ Okay ….thanks” I appreciated her for the information.

“Well, I will only accept your thanks if you agree to go with me to the club tonight! “She said, winking at me.

“Rosaline you know that I don't…"

“No, scarlet, you are going. This is Friday and Fridays are for clubbing. I am not taking a 'no' for an answer period, so just get ready because we will be leaving once it's 7pm.” Rosaline stated as she stood up, which means our discussion was over.

I just rolled my eyes.

She is one adamant girl.

Well, since she helped me look for a Job, I will go with her tonight and this is the only way I can tell her thank you for saving me from the stress of that job thing.

God, thank you for sending Rosaline to me.
