On her 18th Birthday Alice woke up happy and enthusiastic. Being that she was the daughter and only child of Alpha Cronus and Luna Maya the celebration for her birthday was bound to be grand. Alice wasn't looking forward to the celebration itself though she was more enthusiastic about the possibility of meeting her mate. With all the other pack leaders coming to celebrate her the chances of her finally meeting her fated one was bigger than ever. She would soon come to find out that her life was being arranged in a different direction. As her 18th birthday celebration would also turn into her engagement party. And she would be faced with the greatest uncertainty, what is of greater importance, fulfilling her duties as the Alphas daughter and heir or the heart's and body's desire to walk the path Moon Goddess paved out for her.
"Good morning sunshine!" I exclaimed as I clipped my hair into a bun with a hair clip. Amanda, my personal maid, had already opened the blinds to my room and the sun shined brightly through the floor to ceiling windows. I lazily rubbed my eyes and went to grab my glasses off the night table next to my bed, only to noticed that a plate of breakfast was waiting for me next to the glasses. I laughed to myself. My father almighty and powerful, Alpha Cronus, was very strict on being on time to the dining table.
But ever since I can remember every year for my birthday I was allowed to sleep in late and have my breakfast served to my room. As I was finishing up my very heavily maple syrup draped pancakes Amanda ran into my room.
"Miss Alice am happy to see you have finished eating" she gasped for air "The make-up artist and dress designer are here, they are on their way up as we speak"
I smiled at her "Thank you Amie" I loved to call her Amie for short after all we had practically grown together she was only 5 years older than me and she didn't mind. I on the other hand hated when she would call me "miss" for some reason it made me feel old. But she just wouldn't drop it, so I stopped arguing with her.
"Amie I still don't understand why you refused to do my makeup you're great at it." I made a pouty face to her. To which she just looked down, not being able to meet my eyes. And before I could say anything else Cheryl came in shouting to the room.
"WHERE IS THE BIRTHDAY GIRL?" I hated her high pitch voice, it sounded like nails scratching on the walls. She has been my moms best friend since they were in grade school. She has been my makeup artist for the past three birthdays and for the past three birthdays she has done my makeup how she pleases not taking my opinion into consideration. Ugh I was so tired of her but it was all thanks to my beautiful mother that she felt she had the power to doll me up however she pleased. This year would be different though. I put on a fake smile.
"Hi Cheryl it's good to see you so cheerful, however I do believe my mother has failed to inform you that this year Amanda will be doing my makeup. And there is no need for your assistant to be here either as Amanda has my hair covered as well." Her smile faded and her face turned pale. "Ali you can't do that, you know your mother will not approve I have done your makeup these past three years on command of your mother you can't go against her wishes."
"You did my makeup because I had no say, but Cheryl I am finally eighteen and I don't wish for you to do my makeup. If you need an escort to the exit I will gladly let a guard know." She stomped her foot once and turn on her heels, before she closed the door she made one final remark.
"I will notify your mother this instant, and she will not be pleased"
I for once didn't care what my mother had to say about this. I was finally eighteen and she had no say on what I chose to do in preparations for my celebration. I felt happy and pleased with myself I could finally stand up for me.
