Ronnie is a witch who lives with her step mother after the death if her parents. She is treated not much than a beger and is given away as a queen to the kingdom. She married Damon who is the heartless king. She would be the queen till Damon finds his mate. She would either chose to stay or go back to her house.
Ronnie's POV
Why must it always be me who has to have the worst of luck in this life?? Why is my stepmother always making life a living hell for me?? Is it because I am not her real daughter or because my dad is no more?? Of all the things to happen to me, why marriage? Not even with a good man, but with a monster feared in all the land? I ¹1¹1thought to myself as I sat down on the porch thinking about why life would be unfair to me even though I am just 20. Thoughts were suddenly interrupted when Diana, my so-called annoying and over-active stepsister, screamed my name.
"Ronnie, where the f**k is this girl? Ronnie" she yelled.
"Am here" I yelled back.
I went to meet her and what I received on reaching her was a thunderous slap across the face which stung more than a bee sting. I looked at her as tears rolled down my face. I don't understand why she is so mean like her mother.
"Mia, why did you do that", I said in pain.
"Mia, why did you do that? Why did you touch my perfectly shaped face when you know I am nothing but a weak-none wolf?" She said, mimicking me. "I have been screaming your name for two hours now. Where the hell did you hide your ass" she thundered.
"Mia, I was doing the laundry your mom told me to wash. I wanted to finish up so I could go do the other chores before nightfall. Didn't you get it? I don't want you and your mum talking to me the way you please", I replied.
"And what do you mean by that," she said, eyeing me suspiciously.
I sighed. "Nothing Mia", I said.
She looked at me as if I was trash. "Well, good luck on your marriage to Damon, the king of all cruelty and heartlessness. I hope you live a nice comfortable life while bringing some of his wealth to the family," she said sarcastically. "Oh and while you are doing the laundry, go to my room and clean it up", she added.
"Why do I feel like it's my marriage that's your problem?" I asked, sniffing.
She looked at me again and shook her head. "Yeah, your marriage is my problem. Why does it have to be you"? she said.
"Well, maybe if you try to be nice for once in your life, then you might have a bit of luck and find your mate. Wait... Aren't you supposed to be thinking of finding your mate? I wondered about her stupidity.
" You have no right to question what I do with my life" she fumed.
"Well, I don't care, this is my life now" I smiled at her.
"Yeah, enjoy it while it lasts, my dear sister. I just wish you wouldn't screw up while you're in Cistern Palace." She laughed.
"I know I won't, plus I don't want you and your mum, who I call my stepmother, to come to me asking for any favor because I won't hesitate to kick you out of the palace," I said to her utter annoyance.
"So now you think you're some big shot, huh?" She asked.
"Yes, and I would appreciate it if you saw it that way," I said.
"Just wait till my mum hears what you are telling me. You are grounded for a year." She said, stomping her foot on the floor.
I looked at her hatefully as she walked out the door. Why does she always have to be a pain in the ass? I went back to continue what I was doing when I received a phone call from Katie, my best friend. I was so elated she called. I swiped to answer the phone.
"Hey girlfriend, what's good?" I said cheerfully.
"Ron, you and I know there's nothing good. How can that witch set you up with Damon" she said, fuming.
"Come on, you know I am helpless. I can't possibly scream at her or defile her orders or I'll be forever homeless dear. ". I sighed and smiled dejectedly.
"You are a witch darling, you have super superpowers. Are you letting them treat you like a piece of trash??" She said,
I fiddled with my fingers while twirling them. "You know I can't use my powers now, they have not yet been activated. And besides, I need constant practice to even get one spell right. I don't want to cast a spell for invincibility and end up turning into a frog. Now that'll be messed up" I said, smiling.
"I know right, so what's your plan for the marriage? You aren't gonna marry that psycho who kicked me out of his palace because I asked for a salary increase? Like I work so hard in the palace and not one praise from him. I'm not complaining, but at least he should increase my salary. Instead, he said I should work more, as all my work was ineffective. He's terrible, I tell you, very terrible" she said.
At that very moment, Mia's voice rang through the hallway." Do you need all the time in the world to finish up and clean my mum's room too??" she said.
Oh, how I hated her, but I still yelled "just a sec" at her. I leaned back on my phone to continue my conversation with Katie, who was still patiently waiting for me.
"Why do you allow Mia to order you around? You're two years older than her and yet she treats you like a piece of rag" she complained.
"Come on, I don't mind. And besides, I don't want stepmother barging into my room and screaming my name like a lost hound dog", I giggled. " and besides, the last time I was so punished was because I made Mia mad", I added and sighed.
"Enough of the chit-chat. You want to go through with the wedding??" She sounded so f**king serious.
"What do you suggest I do because I don't think I have a choice in this situation," I sighed.
There was silence on the other line which lasted for at least 30 seconds and Katie always had something on her sleeve when she was quiet on the other end. I knew what she was gonna say and that's exactly what I heard.
"Don't worry baby girl, I do have a plan" she said.

"Lucien, let's get a divorce," I said in a peremptory tone that was long overdue, the most decisive farewell to this absurd marriage. We had been married for exactly three years-three years that, for me, were filled with nothing but endless loneliness and torment. For three years, the husband who should have stood by my side through every storm, Lucien Sullivan, had completely disappeared from my life as if he had never existed. He vanished without a trace, leaving me alone to endure this empty, desolate marriage. Today, I finally received his message: "I'm back. Come pick me up at the airport." When I read his words, my heart leapt with joy, and I raced to the airport, thinking that he finally understood my love and was coming back to me. But his cruelty was far worse than I could have ever imagined-he was accompanied by a pregnant woman, and that woman was Carla, my closest and most trusted friend. In that moment, all of my previous excitement, all my hope, and all of our shared laughter and tears turned into the sharpest of daggers, stabbing into my heart and leaving me gasping for air. Now, all I want is to escape from this place that has left me so broken-to lick my wounds in solitude. Even if these wounds will remain with me for the rest of my life, I refuse to have anything to do with him ever again. He should know that it was his own hand that trampled our love underfoot, that his coldness and betrayal created this irreparable situation. But when he heard those words, he desperately clung to this broken, crumbling marriage, unwilling to let it end-almost as though doing so could rewind time and return everything to how it used to be. "Aurora, come back. I regret everything!" Regret? Those simple words stirred no emotion in me-only endless sadness and fury. My heart let out a frantic, desperate scream: It's too late for any of this!
