Maybe, just maybe, Peter wouldn't have done this to her and she wouldn't have to go through this emotional breakdown.
The more she thought about it, the more it dawned on her that her life was over. She was consumed by her sorrows that she didn't realized it was late and recently, there has been news of killings in that vicinity. Still thinking of how miserable her life had become, she heard a gunshot which brought her back to her senses and she realized it was late. She quickly hid behind a parked car and watched the incident unfold before her eyes. As she looked, she saw five men in black suits pointing their guns towards a man and his wife with their little girl standing behind them in tears. Regina was shocked to see this.
"Boss, give us the order" One of the men spoke addressing the tallest man in their midst. Regina began to shiver from the threat of death and the cold night, she looked around and there was no one in sight to help the victim and his family.
With a sinister smile, the Boss barked angrily at their victim,
"Michael, so you think you can sell us to the enemy and be alive?" He said laughing hysterically.
Michael started shivering, "I'm so sorry. I was threatened by the BlackFace Men. They threatened to kill my wife and daughter."
"What makes you think we won't do the same to your wife and kid?" The Boss countered.
"Please spare the lives of my family" Michael pleaded with him profusely.
"You can go but before the count of five, you should have disappeared from our sight, else, you would be shot."
He took his wife and daughter and started running. They haven't gotten far when the Boss pulled the trigger and shot the three of them.
Regina let out a devastating scream at the sight of blood flowing from the victims and just couldn't understand the heartless nature of these men as they even killed the little daughter. Unfortunately for Regina, the men turned towards the direction of the sound.
"Go after her now! Bring her to the place while I attend to this mess". The Boss commanded. Regina immediately took to her heels without looking back. She understood the imminent danger of witnessing a crime scene so she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. The men were also not backing out. They were in hot pursuit and since the first three gunshots may have alerted the neighbors to call the police, they didn't dare risk another gunshot. Regina ran into a narrow street that was lonely and dimly lit by a flicking streetlight. She became scared of her surrounding, it is either she ventures down the street and let the darkness envelope her or she retraces her step back to the road and risk being caught or even killed by those cruel people. She was deep in thought and exhausted beyond limits.
"Hey beautiful", a voice called out. Regina intended to run but it was too late as she was already surrounded by the men in suits.
"We won't hurt you if you cooperate with us. Just go with us quietly and we can consider your safety and perhaps your release" said one of the men with a deep cut across his right cheek.
"Please, don't hurt me, I didn't see anything and I know nothing."
The men laughed at her foolishness as she tried to convince them. As one of the men was about to grab her, she looked up and shouted "Please save me! Save me please" She cried silently to the Universe.
A sudden dark cloud began to cover the sunset sky like a huge blanket. A mighty wind began to blow picking up things in its strength making Regina to quickly shut her eyes. Suddenly, she heard her captors scream in pain followed by a whooshing sound that seemed to surround her. She slowly opened her eyes when she felt the silence around her. Looking at her intently was a tall young man in a black suit, from his appearance, she could tell he would be in his late twenties. Regina felt a bolt of lightning soothing her nerves. She looked down and saw her captors dead on the floor. Her gaze shifted to the tall man staring at her and she shivered underneath his fixed gaze. He began to walk towards her while maintaining eye contact with her. Regina just couldn't break the stare as she felt drawn to it and lost in its intensity. She studied him with a new found keen interest. He was handsome, so masculine with a perfect face. Regina noticed he had red kissable lips and a purely primitive sensation took over her emotions. She shivered from her unholy thoughts and embarrassment washed over her. She unconsciously shook her head to wade such thoughts away. The tall man got close to her with an expressionless face,
"Forget what you saw and only remember before this incident" then he disappeared into thin air.
