Brandon was always the laughing stock of the school, because of his inability to walk. He aid himself with an old wheelchair but he never cared about all of that. He had the most precious gift anyone could ever wished for; His caring and trustworthy girlfriend. Or so he thought. His life took a drastic turn after receiving the biggest heartbreak and shock of his life by his girlfriend. Thinking his life is over and his happiness gone he got another shocking surprise. He found out he was the missing son of the toughest and richest president of the United state. And also the next in line to become a Mafia Lord. Extract from the story/ Prologue; "I've always been your love and I know you still have a soft spot for me in your heart" Her voice held pride in them as she sat on her seat with her head held high. She had full confidence that he's going to take her back and nothing is going to stop her. The man in front of her just stared at her with an expressionless face. He played with the pen in his hands and kept observing her. She had on a red short skinny handless gown. She looked like she's having problem breathing in them. Her boobs where almost almost out and if she bends down you'd definitely see her butt. "Firstly you came into my office dressed like a hooker, then you sat on my chair without my permission. Then you open your mouth and start vomiting trash. Young lady, I don't know you and I don't think I've ever seen you in my life. I can't possibly see myself loving a low classless slut like you. And secondly, I hate love. Now get out!. She flinched back in fear when she heard the tone of his voice. She has never heard any voice with so much authority and coldness before. It felt like she was talking to a stranger. "If I repeat myself again I'd be sending your corpse to your boyfriend" With that she sprung to her feet and dashed out of the office leaving her heels and purse behind.
His heart shattered at the sight in front of him, the pain in his heart suddenly became too much for him to bear, he just couldn't fight it. He let go of his pride as a man as hot tears poured down from his eyes.
He could hear his own heartbeat with the speed rate it was pounding in his chest, making it even more unbearable for him to take in. All he wanted was someone to pinch him so he can wake up in his shabby apartment and find out all of this is nothing but a nightmare that will never come to pass.
But the disdain and mockery in everyone's eyes were so real that it dug more holes in his heart.
"W..hy..y?" His voice broke while trying to speak.
"Uh uh. Look everyone, our crippled lover boy here is heartbroken seeing his crush in the arms of a man who deserves her. Tssk. What a shame" Zack Chan had a victorious smirk on his face as his arms held firmly to Rosa's waist.
This broke poor Brandon. She wasn't his crush but his girlfriend since high school. They're both orphans and he has been the one taking care of her since he marked eighteen and ran away from the orphanage with her. He has done everything within his power to make her happy, even with his condition, he work very hard to put a smile on her face.
He sponsored both her and himself through high school. And he's still doing the same in college. So seeing another man arms around her waist and a smile on her face crushed his fragile heart.
And the lady did nothing to change that. Why should she? She has finally gotten what she wanted and the pathetic scene in front of her meant nothing to her.
"But I gave you everything you ever wanted Rosa, I never for once let you lack anything. Wh....at h..a.a.ve i...i..I done to deserve this?" Brandon was trying hard not to turn his wheelchair around and get out of the mansion, cause everything was happening so fast that it's making him feel dizzy.
He's still wondering how all of this is possible!. Everything feels like a movie to him. Like, wasn't this the same Rosa he kissed this morning before going to the car wash garage, since he didn't have class today?. And isn't this the party he had specifically forbade her from attending?.
But here she's. Not only at the party, but dressed in a slutty way and also has a man's arm wrapped around her waist. He was afraid that she'd get too exposed to the world and lose focus on her studies, but the girl standing in front of him doesn't look like the sweet innocent Rosa he left this morning. She looks more like those hookers at the front of a strip club right across the street.
And from the look of things. This is not her fight time.
"Don't sweat it Brandon. Yes I'd admit you're romantic and dreamy, but only to girls who don't have needs and I've needs Brandon. I do!. Do you think I feel good watching my friends flaunt their new Chanel bags and iPhones that their boyfriends bought for them. Their boyfriend Brandon!" She scoffs as her eyes darkened.
"But what do I get?. Kisses and 10$ for lunch every day like a kindergarten. Those gifts aren't even birthday presents Brandon, they're just gifts given to them out of love. All my friends wear the latest designer dresses, shoes, bags and they eat in classy places, while most of the time I eat noodles three times a day. All my clothes are worn out and my phone looks like it was handed to me by my grandma. And I'm tired of that life Brandon. You can't even get up from that old wheelchair and it's embarrassing and irritating, you're nothing, nothing but a burden to me. So you never did anything for me!. Instead I did. Do you think it's easy being with you, and also doing all the chores in the house while you waste your life at the car wash?.
"So I decided to do something for myself and for my future, cause I'm not going to allow my future be ruined by an unfortunate motherless, crippled love sick dude. Cause if you had left me in the orphanage, my life wouldn't have turned out this way. So Brandon, you did nothing for me, in fact you almost ruined my life, and I hate you for that!" Everywhere became silent as everyone's eyes were fixed on the dumbstruck Brandon.
Everyone always knew he was a loser, but no one knew he was an orphan. And no one also knew that his beautiful girlfriend he always flaunts on everyone's faces also thought he was a much bigger loser as well. The disdain in their eyes grew as they stared at him.
Brandon looked at the woman in front of him in awe. He never for once thought his sweet Rosa had such an impression of him. When he saw Zack's arms around her, his heart shattered but hearing those words from her fixed them. A thunderstorm was forming in his head.
His eyes darkened as he glared at them, especially the woman he worked day and night for, the woman he goes hungry just to see her tummy full and satisfied, the woman he wears rags for just so she could wear fresh clothes. His heart stopped beating rapidly as he glared at her. The tears that were once falling from his eyes already dried on his hardened face leaving tears lines on them.
He grit his teeth in anger and his hands formed into a fist. He clenched his hands so hard that his knuckles turned white.
"So this is your decision? You choose money over everything. No problem Rosa, but I promise you this. You'd live to regret this day" A punch landed on his cheeks so fast that he didn't see it coming. Loud gasps filled the place as everyone stared at a fuming Rosa in bewilderment.
"You're nothing Brandon!. Nothing!. And you'd forever be nothing!.
He was taken aback that she raised her hands at him, though it didn't hurt, but it's still hurt inside.
"Remember this day Rosa" With that, he turned around and wheeled himself out of the mansion.
