CHAPTER ONE

Elsa's pov

After my wedding, years ago when it was announced on Tv, they made it seem like I was Cinderella who wore the silver shoe and got the prince

The whispers flew around few I was able to catch

“She's the winner in the end. The playboy eventually married and returned to her to make a family.”

“Yes, There's one less golden bachelor in the world. How many girls have to shed tears today!” this was a statement from a Tv host or was it a Presenter, I couldn't recall.

“I envy you, dear, a handsome, rich, arbitrary man now married to you! I may have to wait until my next life.” a lady said to me in the mall

And now?

I got an email from an unknown sender and there in the embrace of a woman on the bed was my supposed husband, kissing a woman, I know her so well, who doesn't know the face of the famous supermodel? Lilian.

I sniff and shut my eyes as I bite my lips. I felt a mixture of anger and pain surging all over my body.

I had a sixth sense that something of this nature, such solid evidence would be what was attached to that suspicious email.

Tears filled my eyes as I kept on staring at the image of the two lovers, my legally wedded husband, who made a promise to me on a very sunny day at the beach where we took our vows.

Even with my eyes shut, the tears just keep pouring out, I hope that my Sobs are not loud enough to wake the kids up.

I hold my hand over my mouth, I can't stop myself from crying, all I can do is try to stop it from being too loud.

Ricardo who I gave everything to. I loved him from the depth of my heart and gave him my innocence, my virginity and I was always there for him, but he has chosen to do me like this.

It's midnight and he is not yet home. He has been doing this a lot lately and I am sure that it's because he is busy sleeping with other women that he doesn't care for me and my kids. A playboy will always be a playboy.

I was going to wait for him. I was going to go back to the living room and wait for him to come back and I was going to make a demand for an explanation.

I find it hard to sit down. I paced up and down the room and finally, My husband arrived at the house just a few minutes past two.

I waited for him as he noisily entered the living room and bangs the door shut. He might be walking in steady steps, but I know that he is drunk.

I turn around and my heart skips a beat as my eyes rest on Ricardo. He is tall and very handsome, that's the reason I fell in love with him at that beach.

His black hair is short and keeps falling over his face, that was one thing that made me fall over and over for him. It's all over now, isn't it?

"Elsa?" My name rolled out of s mouth with little or no effort. " What are you still doing awake?"

I don't know if he is asking because he cares about me or because he is startled to find me awake.

I looked at him, and all the while, the image kept coming back to my face. Images of him in bed with another woman.

"Why? Are you tired of me?

" I asked in a tear ladened voice.

He looks confused. He dips his hands into his pockets and sighs.

"I am talking about this. " I tossed my phone into his hand and he grabbed it very quickly just before it reached the ground.

He looked at me and sighed before going through the pictures.

He scrolled through the pictures and looked up at me and shoved the phone deep into his pocket.

"Go to sleep, Elsa. " He yelled at me

With that, he starts to walk towards the kitchen. I am mad right now that he even said something like that to me.

I just showed him images that proved that he is cheating on her and he is going to act like it is something normal? He is acting like I am overreacting to the whole thing. This was what he always does when matters arise always. talk to me like he was talking to a child.

I stormed after him and I caught up with him when he is by the refrigerator, taking a glass of water.

You fucked someone else. " I accused him. " Are you going to pretend like you haven't done anything wrong even when you have just cheated on me?"

"For Christ's sake, I have spent the entire day buried in paperwork and all I am asking for is some peace. I know you don't understand what it's like to spend the whole day buried in work, but let me be this once, please. " He complains and pours himself another glass of water.

I was pissed, I get it. I didn't come from a rich background, unlike Ricardo whose father was the CEO of their Enterprise, it has always passed down to every generation. Now Ricardo is the current CEO and he was putting it to my face.

”So not going to work is the original sin? You ungrateful bastard.”

He just keeps making me even madder every time. He drops the glass and makes it walk past me, but my anger gets the better side of me.

I grabbed him by his suit and hits him across the chest. I hit him the hardest that I can, but he doesn't even flinch. I wanted to cause him pain, but he is not even reacting to it.

He looked at me with a tired and boring look and shook his head.

"Go to bed. " He yelled at me. " You are a nuisance right now. " how could he say such an insult to me each time without remorse for hurting me every time.

“It’s you! You let me become a nuisance now.”

Oh, and that bursts what is left of my self-control. I slapped him across the face, even though he is much taller than me, I managed to hit him just right across his face.

He looked at me with anger, I can see

the angry side of him rising, but I was not scared. “Did you just hit me?” he asked me with anger.

I didn't reply to him with words. and hit him on his face again and I was planning to hit him yet again if not for the fact that he catches my hand mid-air and binds them behind my back restricting me from moving.

I was still raging, I raised my left hand and hit him yet again and that’s the last of it that he could take. He turned around and grabbed my hand and hugged me as tight as he could without hurting me as he gritted his teeth to control his anger.

‘’Ricardo.enough!’’I said with my last breath and he lets go of me

I laid on the ground, crying and trying to breathe as quickly as possible. I could feel the faint taste of blood in my mouth.

Richard had turned into a monster, a cheat, manipulator and a liar. We have been married for seven years and this is how he was going to pay me.

I stood up slowly to look at him, he is just there with his hands folded, his fists by his sides.

“I’m going to leave you,” I said. “I’m going to take my children and leave you. you’re not riccardo anymore". I am going to show him that I could be better without him, I am an independent woman and would strive for myself. This nobody will show him what she's capable of.

"Leave. " He told me without any regret. " Leave and go to anywhere in the world you want to, but know that you are not taking the kids with you. "

I bite my lips as the urge to cry kept growing on my chest. I turned around and left before I was going to burst into tears.

Ricardo watches her. He has mixed feelings in his heart. He has just told his wife to leave him if she wants to, he can't believe that she would. She is just twenty five and her whole life is tied to him, there is no way that she would do that.

Something is telling him that he did wrong and that he should run after her and tell her that he is sorry, but his legs won't move. He is a man with an ego as big as life.

Elsa watches the kids sleep in their beds. The way that Alex holds his sister protectively, even as they sleep makes her heart warm.

She is going to miss them. This is the hardest decision of her life and even though it hasn't been easy for her, she knows that there is no other way.

She has to get away from their father now so that she can find a way to come back to them. She is going to come back and take them away and they will never have to leave each other again.

She gently drops kisses on their forehead. "I love you both. " She whispers to herself.

She stands up and leaves. The tears are blinding her eyes, she doesn't have the heart to take a second look at her kids as she leaves. She might not be strong enough to go through with it if she turns back.

“I will come back to BEAT you down！” she said.
