At my own engagement party, I thought I was finally going to become Collin's wife and truly belong to the Beaumont family after being missing for ten years. But under the spotlight, Collin walked right past me. He knelt and slipped my million-dollar ruby ring onto my adopted sister Ivy's finger-just because she got a tiny scratch from a broken glass. My family didn't defend me. My mother dug her nails into my arm, calling me vicious. My three brothers surrounded Ivy protectively, demanding I apologize for embarrassing them. When I later exposed that Ivy had secretly hired thugs to abduct and beat me, my father roared in anger. He didn't believe a single word I said. Instead, he froze all my bank accounts and officially disowned me, caring only about the thirty percent company shares in my trust fund. I looked at the family I had spent years trying to please. They never loved me; they only loved the fake, manipulative daughter they raised while I was gone. My heart completely died. Penniless and cast out into the cold night, I walked into a diner and sat across from Damian Sterling, the dying titan of the tech world. I looked at the incurable poison spreading through his veins and smiled. "I am the only person alive who can save you," I said. "In exchange, you will be my sword to make the Beaumonts tremble."

Disowned at My Engagement, I Became The Tech Titan's Savior Chapter 1

The sound of shattering crystal was a gunshot in the silence of the Beaumont estate.

Ivy Beaumont, the girl abandoned by Aurora as a child and adopted by the Beaumont family, who regarded her as an "angel" let out a soft, strangled cry as the champagne flute slipped from her fingers. Crimson blood, vibrant and jarring, began to well from a tiny nick on her finger, dripping onto her pristine white dress like a blooming hibiscus.

In an instant, the world tilted. Colin Foley, the golden heir of the Foley family, the man who was supposed to make a lifelong vow to Aurora at their engagement party tonight, jumped off the softly lit stage without hesitation, abandoning the microphone and Aurora without looking back.

"Ivy!" Collin's voice was thick with a panic he had never shown for his own fiancée. He gathered Ivy into his arms, his hands trembling as he cradled her injured finger as if it were made of the finest porcelain.

Aurora stood alone on the stage, the white silk of her gown suddenly feeling like a shroud. Her heart, which had been hammering with anticipation just moments ago, turned into a block of lead. She descended the steps, her movements stiff, and stopped before the man who was her world.

"Collin," Aurora said, her voice dangerously calm. "The ceremony isn't over. People are watching."

He finally looked up, but there was no love in his eyes. Only raw, jagged irritation. "Can't you wait, Aurora? Can't you see Ivy is bleeding?"

"It's a scratch, Collin," Aurora replied, her eyes tracking the minuscule cut.

"Sister, please... I didn't mean to," Ivy sobbed, burying her face in Collin's chest. Her tears were perfectly timed, shimmering under the garden lights. "I know you've always found me a burden, but it really hurts..."

That was the spark that set the forest on fire.

"Aurora! How can you be so aggressive?" A sharp voice cut through the air. Eleanor Beaumont, Aurora's mother and the matriarch of the family, rushed forward. She didn't look at her biological daughter; instead, she gripped Aurora's arm with bruising force. "She is your sister, and she's hurt! You should be more considerate of her feelings instead of worrying about a stupid spotlight!"

Julian, the eldest Beaumont brother and the future head of their conglomerate, stepped forward, his face a mask of cold disappointment. "Aurora, you're being incredibly selfish. Look at her state. You should be more considerate of your sister's fragile health."

"You're becoming more vicious every day!" snapped Spencer, the second brother, known for his hot temper. He stood over Ivy like a shield. "What has she ever done to you to deserve such coldness?"

Even Cole, the youngest, who Aurora had once helped with his homework and cheered for at every game, glared at her with pure disdain. "Stay away from her, Aurora. You're scaring her."

In the distance, Donovan Beaumont, the patriarch, watched with a face of frozen granite. He didn't say a word, and his silence was the loudest condemnation of all.

As the accusations swirled around her like a suffocating fog, Aurora's mind retreated. It fled back to the words Collin had spoken just minutes before the glass broke-words that now felt like a cruel, twisted joke.

"Tonight, I want to thank a special woman."

She remembered the way his voice had flowed through the speakers, smooth as silk, blanketing the elite of New York. In that memory, she had felt the warmth of his gaze-or so she thought.

"She is kind, pure, an angel..."

She recalled how her breath had hitched, how she had truly believed, for one delusional second, that he finally saw her worth. She had stood there, a mask of demure expectation, waiting for him to say her name. But now, standing in the wreckage of the night, she realized the "angel" was never the woman standing beside him on the stage. It was the one now clinging to his neck.

The memory dissolved, replaced by the harsh reality of her family shielding the girl who had just sabotaged her engagement with a single "accidental" stumble.

Aurora looked at them-her mother, her brothers, her father. Not one of them defended her. No one saw the daughter who had finally returned to her family after being lost for ten years. They only saw Ivy, the pitiable princess. And in Ivy's eyes, past the veil of fake tears, Aurora saw it: a flicker of triumphant, ugly provocation.

A laugh escaped Aurora's lips. It was a dry, brittle sound that cut through the family's scolding.

She started to clap.

Slowly, deliberately, her palms met in a sharp, rhythmic beat that silenced the entire garden. The guests, the photographers, the Beaumonts-everyone froze.

She stopped. Her gaze locked with Collin's, and for the first time, she saw him not as her soulmate, but as a stranger.

"A brilliant performance, Mr. Foley," she said, her voice clear, resonant, and utterly glacial. "I see now where your heart truly lies."

She looked at her family, her expression one of polite, distant boredom. "And to the Beaumonts... thank you for reminding me where I stand. It's been most enlightening."

She took a step back, her head held high, her spine like a blade of steel.

"Congratulations on your engagement, Collin," she said, her voice dropping an octave, heavy with irony. "I hope she was worth the spectacle."

Without another word, without a single tear, she turned her back on the lights, the cameras, and the people who claimed to be her blood.

Step by step, she walked out of the garden, away from the lights, leaving the wreckage of her heart behind in that glittering, soulless charade.
