"You're back."Dominic's voice was low, unreadable. Elena tilted her chin, her lips curling into a smirk. "Did you miss me? Or just the woman who let you walk all over her?" His jaw tightened. "You left." "You threw me away,"she shot back, eyes blazing. "And now, I'm here to return the favor." He took a step closer, his presence still suffocatingly familiar. "You think you can destroy me?" Elena leaned in, her voice a whisper laced with ice. "I don't think, Dominic. I know." But then- "Mom?"A small voice echoed through the room. Dominic froze. His gaze snapped to the little boy standing in the doorway. His heart pounded. His world shifted. He turned back to Elena, his voice barely above a whisper. "Tell me this isn't what I think it is."
