oughts and turned to face her. “Yeah, yeah. I am. The guy must be really handsome.” I had to say, Leah would throw a fit if she learn

dmit it— she had tremendous abilities I could only dream of. Anyways, we let her try out nevertheless but she was horrible. She had the dancing skills of a howler monkey and she and her friends tumbled and fell when they tried to make a pyramid. Seems like agility wasn’t a part of her ‘tremendous abilities.’ So because she was bad, the rest of the team and I voted her out and she got so mad and pissed, she was angry and was getting violent. She even threatened to turn into her wolf form and use her powers on us and that’s when it got messy. “You’re all bunch of loosers! I never even wanted to join your team anyways.” Nikki huffed, folding her arms and we all knew she was saying that after bitterness. “But just know I won’t let this slide. I’ll make all of you pay for rejecting me and I’ll start with little miss pretty Leah, who thinks she’s all that. Let’s see how you feel when I tell everyone you sleep with the male teachers to get good grades!” Nikki divulged in a spewing yammer and surprised gasps erupted amongst us, apart from me though. I knew Leah wouldn’t do such and that Nikki was just being petty. Nikki and her friends turned to leave, laughing in a fit of their hysteria and I was completely crossed with them. Leah’s face immediately went red with anger. All the emotions the demeanor on her face carried spelled A-N-G-R-Y in bold, underlined letters and I knew how much Leah hated her reputation being slapped in the face. I wasn’t going to let Nikki go scot free for accusing my best friend of being a whore. “You dumb, fucking bitch—” Leah was about to go pounce on Nikki but I held her back. “Let me handle this.” I offered my best friend and I chuckled, walking over to the door and standing against it preventing Nikki and her friends from leaving. She eyed me down from head to toe. “Move.” Nikki spat. “No.” I declined. “Get out of the way Lena.” “And if I don’t want to?” A chorus of “ooh” and “ahs” followed my response and the crowd gradually backed away from Nikki and I. “Ugh. I don’t want any problems with you Lena. Can you just be mature and get out of the freaking way?” “Again, what if I don’t want to? Are you going to talk down on me like you did to my best friend? I’m sorry that ain’t gonna work on me. And I’m going to make sure I teach you a lesson that’ll make you a crying mess.” Nikki gave out a snotty laugh and sighed after she tapered off, “Remember what happened the last time you and I fought. I’m sure you’re not looking forward to another three weeks in Idaho and besides, you’re a cool girl Lena, what are you doing handing around with a hoeish whore?” How dare she? How dare Nikki insult Leah and I’s friendship? Plus, she even insulted Leah again. No. This is unacceptable. It was at this point I lost it. Every inch of sanity and reasoning was gone. It was at this point that everything began to escalate quickly. It wasn’t me talking anymore, it was the care-for my-best-friend induced anger speaking. And it really meant it. It was ready to help me beat her to a mushy pulp. I snapped, “Leah is not a hoe, neither is she a whore and you
