bly around Fred's age walk out of a little yellow house with a dog. Hopefully she could tell me the way to the school. Knowing I couldn't talk to her, I arranged my features on my face to look really confused. I even turned in a small circle, looking around as if I lost the way. I heard her approach me and stopped. "Are you lost, dear?" She asked while the dog sniffed me. I shrugged. The lady looked at my backpack and said, "Oh! Are you looking for the school?" I nodded and she smiled, raising her hand to point down the road. "Just follow the road that way and eventually you'll see a sign with arrows telling you where each school is. You can't miss it." I gave her a smile, hoping she understood my gratefulness. She returned it along with a wave and tugged her dog away. I pulled my backpack off and unzipped it, taking out my iPod and earbuds. I opened it to my Taylor Swift playlist and smiled as Our Song came on. I placed the device in my pocket and slung my bag back over my shoulder, following the direction the lady pointed me in. It took me fifteen minutes of walking before I saw the sign she told me about. An arrow pointing forward said Elementary School, the arrow pointing left said High School and the arrow pointing right said Middle School. I turned left and walked for another five minutes before I arrived at the school. In big letters over the double-door entrance read "Forrest Hills High School." I pulled the front door open and was surprised to find the halls mostly empty. A few students wandered around, talking to their friends, but other than that, it was quiet. I followed the very obvious directions to the Office and walked in. A short lady with curly white hair and bright green eyes looked up at me, a kind smile on her face. I returned it with a small smile of my own and walked over to her. "You must be Kimberly ------, am I right?" I gave her a nod — not bothering to correct her pronunciation and she reached into her desk drawer. She pulled out a file with my name on it. "I heard you would be coming today. Here's your schedule with your locker number and combination on it as well as a map of the school. Have a wonderful first day!" I nodded once and gave a small wave as I left. I opened the file and saw my locker number was 213. I figured that meant second floor, so I turned to the map and searched for the stairs. I set off down the hallway, keeping my head low and trying not to draw attention to myself. I could feel stares on my back as I passed the whispering students. I guessed a small town meant everyone knew everyone, and I would be the obvious new transfer. Great. Ignoring them, I headed to the second floor, scanning the lockers for my number. I closed my eyes and leaned against a random locker, feeling hopeless. I'd been walking up and down the halls, looking for 213, and I just couldn't find it! "Need help?" A voice asked.Chat MAXWELL on WhatsApp to be added to his story group. I jumped and turned my head around. I looked up to see a guy with fairly tan skin and grey eyes. His brown hair was styled in a way that it was swept to the side while at the same time, it stuck up. He gazed down at me with a smile. I sighed and nodded. I knew if Fred found out, he would probably kill me, but I didn't care if he did. Okay that was a lie. I did care if Fred found out because I would get a beating for it, but that wasn't what mattered right now. All I cared about was finding my locker at this point. "Can I see?" The guy asked. I gave him a small nod and handed him the paper with my locker number on it. He examined my paper for a second. "All the one-hundreds and two-hundreds are on the first floor, not the second. I'll show you where that's at." I gave him a weak smile. He smiled back, "Even better! You have Mrs. Holland for homeroom! One of my friends is in that class. I'll make sure to tell her to look for you!" I gave him a nod, not sure what else to do. He gestured for me to follow and I went bounding after him as he went down the same direction I came from. I had the feeling that if Fred knew about the guy I met and the people I might meet, I would be in so much trouble. But I couldn't think about that right now. I just needed to have a good first day, if that could be possible for me... TBC 👍 * You can't be unfriendly on campus because of Fred 💦💦 * You're gonna get in trouble girl..... We came to a stop after going downstairs and turning right. He flashed me a smile and then scrunched his eyebrows together. "You don't talk much, do you?" I shrugged and didn't meet his eyes. "I'm Cole." He said, sticking out his hand. I gave him a small smile and shook it. "And you are...?" He pressed. I closed my folder and he read my name out loud. Kimberly" ?" Cole asked. I nodded enthusiastically and he said Cool name!" He checked his watch and widened his eyes. "Well I better get to class, but you'll meet Jaycee in your class. Beware, though," he chuckled. "She can be a bit much." He waved before disappearing around the corner and I took a deep breath. I didn't like the sound of this Jaycee girl. A bit much sounded more like too much for me. I walked a few feet down the hallway until I saw the door to Mrs. Holland's classroom. I went inside to see only three others in the room so far. I headed to a seat in the back row and plopped down. I put my earbuds back in and pressed play on my music. 🎶This time, You Belong With Me came on. I smiled and mouthed along to the words, the make-believe concert forming in my head to tune the rest of the world out: You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset She's going off about something that you said 'Cause she doesn't, get your humor like I do... I'm in my room it's a typical Tuesday night I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like And she'll never, know your story like I do... But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts She's cheer captain and I'm on the—🎶 A tap on my shoulder made me jump. I stopped my music and took out my earbuds, turning to the right. A girl with bouncy brown hair sat next to me, smiling so big it almost reached her ears. "I'm Jaycee," she introduced herself. Ah, so this is who Cole told me about. "You must be new, 'cause I don't recognize you, and this town is really small." I gave her a small smile and pointed to my name at the top of my file. We went through the same thing I did with Cole. Eventually she said my name right and told me she knew we were going to be great friends. I grimaced. I wish I could tell her that can't happen. "What other classes do you have?" I handed her the file and she looked through it. "Ooh! We have Homeroom, English, and Gym together. The rest you're on your own." I looked at her, confused. What about Cole? As if she read my mind she said, "Cole, Dexter, Kota, and Sydney make up the rest of our group of friends. You might have a class with them but even if you do, they're likely not to show up. You'll get to meet them today at lunch, though! Oh, and my little sister Eva. She's a freshman." I didn't answer, wishing I could make friends with them. I really hated Fred when it came to things like this. It also made me really miss my mom. "So where'd you come from? What's your family like? When did you move here?" Jaycee bombarded me with questions. I sighed, she never stops talking, does she? I felt bad ignoring her the rest of the period, but I didn't really have any other choice. Finally the bell rang and I shot up and out of my seat like a bullet. I entered the crowded hall and ignored Jaycee calling after me. Soon enough, I got swept along by the crowd and she couldn't see me anymore. I found my next class easily enough and slid into a seat just as the bell rang. I pulled out a notebook and listened as the teacher droned on and on about some ancient Egyptian village. By the time lunch came, I was just ready to go home. I didn't have money for lunch, and obviously couldn't bring my own lunch, so I ended up going outside and sitting against a tree. I pulled out earbuds and a book and tuned out the rest of the world. Movement close to me caught the corner of my eye and I looked up to see Jaycee crouched down in front of me. "Why are you out here?" She asked, lowering my book. I shrugged and then widened my eyes when I saw she wasn't alone. Behind her stood Cole, a guy I didn't recognize with dark skin and a kind smile, and two girls. Jaycee glanced behind her. "Oh, these are my friends I mentioned. There's Sydney," She pointed to the first girl, who's shoulder length blond hair was pulled back halfway with a pretty clip. Sydney gave me a small wave, but didn't smile. It seemed more like she was there because Jaycee made her come. "And Eva, my sister." Now that she pointed it out, the second girl looked very much like Jaycee, just younger and with darker hair and not as much of a tan to her light skin. "And Dexter, and then you know Cole." I gave them a small wave, cursing myself for interacting so closely with them. If Fred finds out... "Kota's inside, so you can meet him if you come with us." Jaycee continued. I shook my head. I appreciated their kindness, but I couldn't go with them. I looked back down to my book. "Kimberly, please?" Jaycee pleaded. "I can tell you're a sweet girl under that shell, and we want to make you feel as welcome here as possible!" I swallowed and closed my eyes, leaning against the tree. Why couldn't they just leave me alone? Usually people just ignored me, weirded out by the "mute freak." So why were these guys different? I heard a snort and opened my eyes. Jaycee stood up and whirled around. Apparently the snort had come from Sydney, because Jaycee got in her face, venom laced in her voice. "Shut it, Syd! If you don't want to be a nice person, go ahead and leave! I don't care what Kota said, I can do what I want." Chat MAXWELL on WhatsApp to be added to his story group. Dexter rolled his eyes. "Have fun explaining this then, don't forget he's your Alpha!" I tilted my head, nervous but intrigued. Alpha? What did that mean? My silent question went unanswered, though, when a new voice joined the conversation. "He's right, Jaycee. You can't just disobey an order like that. She's a rogue!" There they go again. What are they talking about? Alpha? Rogue? That wasn't it, though. The newcomer's voice was deep, sending a shiver down my spine. I peered between Jaycee's and Cole's legs to see who it was. The guy was tall and muscular, but not huge He had dark brown hair and deep green eyes. Jaycee shifted her feet a little and I caught his eye. The world stopped, everything disappeared, leaving just me and him. I couldn't hear anymore of their argument, all my focus was on those green eyes. I was snapped back to earth when the guy let out an inhuman growl, making me jump. "Mate!!!! TBC 👍 * seriously the Alpha has just found his mate 👏👏 * Fire 🔥 on the mountain 🤣 ✍️If you don't understand ✍️my mute mate is about a young woman who has been through a lot, and ends up not talking. Now, things get more complicated when she ends up finding her mate, but she doesn't understand it. 💦HIS 💦 💦 MUTE 💦 💦MATE 💦 By: worthy stories ✍️ Episode: 6💦 (💦 Alpha 🐺💦) Kota's pov💦 I stuck the comb in my dark hair, dragging it to the side and successfully parting it. "Kota" I heard my mother scream from the hall. I grumbled something incoherent and grabbed my backpack. I don't even get why I have to go to school anyway. I just turned eighteen, meaning I was just passed the title of "Alpha of the Shining Moon Pack" The only thing I needed was my Luna, not school! I hurried down the grand staircase and Cole, my Gamma, passed me an apple. He saw my grim expression and laughed. "Don't be so grumpy, maybe something actually interesting will happen!" I rolled my eyes. "Yeah right." I put the apple in my bag and hopped on my bike. "Really, Kota?" Sydney asked. "You would rather get on that death machine than ride with us?" I glared. "Hey! My bike is not a death machine!" Jaycee pokes her head out the truck window. "Well I'm pretty sure the definition of a motorcycle is death trap, so..." I rolled my eyes. "No it's not, you guys are just cowards!" They all grumbled and shut the doors to Dexter's truck. Dexter started it and drove off. I chuckled and started my bike. Dexter was my Beta and Jaycee was his mate, making her the Beta Female. Cole and Sydney were also mates; they were the Gamma pair. I was still looking for my mate. I knew she was out there somewhere, I just didn't know where to look. I'll admit I was a little envious of my friends. In the werewolf world, you can find your mate when you reach the age of sixteen. Since we all grew up together, the minute they each hit sixteen, they knew they were each other's mates. I was like the seventh wheel. I just hoped I'd find mine soon. I arrived at school and parked my motorcycle in my usual spot. I set it on its kickstand and headed inside. Already, I knew something was different. I didn't know what, but I intended to find out. I was walking to second period when it hit me. The smell of a rogue. A rogue wolf had entered my territory and was in this school. I growled under my breath. "What's wrong?" Dexter asked, hearing the sound. "Don't you smell it?" I responded. He looked confused. "No, what?" "The rogue!" His eyes widened and he took a deep breath. "You're right! I can barely smell it, but it's there! What are we going to do about it?" I thought for a moment. "For now, just ignore it. Warn the others to stay away from it too, I don't want it to be near my pack members. I'll deal with it tonight, after school." He nodded, understanding. We couldn't cause a scene in front of these humans that attended the school. The rest of my classes until lunch went fairly slow as I spent most of them thinking about what to do with the rogue. The bell rang and I shot up and out of my seat. I headed to the cafeteria and sat down at our group's table. I waited and waited, but a half an hour into lunch period none of them had shown up. It was strange. I got up and took a deep breath, trying to pinpoint their scents. When I did, I set off on their trail. The scents led me outside and I soon spotted them, crowding around a tree. I growled and stormed over. "-don't care what Kota said! I can do what I want!" I caught the last of Jaycee's words as she yelled at Syd. "Have fun explaining that to him, he's still your Alpha!" Dexter snorted. Jaycee visibly paled a little, especially when she saw me standing behind them. "He's right, Jaycee." I said, making my presence known. They all started slightly and whirled around. "You can't just disobey an order like that! She's a rogue!" Jaycee growled, making my wolf growl back, upset that she was disrespecting us. "She's a nice girl though!" Sydney snorted again, "How do you know? She doesn't answer anything you say!" I growled, trying to break up their argument. Where was a Peacemaker when you needed one? Jaycee turned to fire something back and that's when I saw her. Her electric blue eyes were wide with despair and confusion, her blonde hair flowed down her back, matching her pale skin. I locked eyes with her and the world stopped turning. Everything was gone, like I sunk into this peaceful abyss. I could no longer hear Jay and Syd's fighting, or Cole trying to break it up. It was just me and her. My wolf immediately knew she was ours, and instinctively wanted to claim her. Chat MAXWELL on WhatsApp to be added to his story group. So without thinking, a possessive growl erupted from the back of my throat and one word tumbled out. "Mine!" In hindsight, I probably should've controlled my wolf better, as this just made everything worse. I felt my eyes shift to black, showing my wolf side, and the girl in front of my scrambled up, fear written all over her face. She opened her mouth and made the sound I least expected to hear. A scream. It was high pitched and scratchy, as if she hasn't used her voice in some time. And then she ran. She left her bag, her book, and her iPod on the ground and darted off, not looking back. Confused, I gained control back and looked at my friends. "Nice going, man!" Cole said sarcastically. "You managed to find your mate, scare her half to death, and get her to use her voice all in the span of only thirty seconds!" I growled and he just rolled his eyes. "Now what?" I asked. Jaycee smacked me on the arm. "Go after her! Follow her scent home." I nodded and put the girl's iPod and book in the backpack and picked it up. "Whats her name?" "Kimberly." They all chorused back. I nodded and dashed after my mate. I couldn't lose her now that I'd just found her! TBC 👍 *It's becoming interesting.... the Alpha is going after his mate💦💦 *What do you think will happen next????💦💦💦 between Fred and Kimberly!! HIS 💦 💦 MUTE 💦 💦MATE 💦 By: worthy stories ✍️ Episode: 7💦 Kimberly's pov 💦 heard a scream and jumped, until I realized I was the one screaming. My eyes widened and I turned around abandoning my things and bolting. I ran like I've never ran before, my legs burned but I ignored it and pushed on. I didn't look back as I headed down the street, remembering my way back to the house. For a split second I worried about what would happen if Fred was home, but then an image of that guy's black eyes came back and I continued to run. A part of me, deep inside, told me to turn around and go back to them. That they were what I needed. I tried to convince myself I was running because of his eyes, but the truth stuck, not letting myself use excuses. I knew the real reason I was running was because I'd used my voice for the first time. In nine years. And they'd all heard it. It wasn't the same as talking I guess, but still. I knew tomorrow would bring questions. Questions I couldn't and didn't want to answer. They all knew my voice worked now, which was going to cause a problem for me. I heard them shout my name a few times, but I soon was out of earshot. My thighs began to throb and I felt a growing cramp appear in my side, but I decided not to care.... No way was I stopping until I made it home. And I didn't. I kept running until I burst through my front door, slamming it shut behind me. What I didn't expect was to see Fred sitting there. In the living room Eating a sandwich. Well, crap. He looked up at me and narrowed his eyes. "Kimberly." He said slowly, his voice like ice. "What are you doing home?" I gulped and pulled at a strand in my hair, not meeting his eyes. In a flash, he was in front of me. "Answer the question, Kimberly. What are you doing out of school?" I blinked and looked up at him, jumping backwards when I saw how close he was. His eyes were dark and menacing, while his voice was cold and calm, which was almost scarier than when he was screaming at me. I shook my head. Didn't he get it? I haven't answered a question in nine years! When is he going to notice that he is who made me stop talking? That I probably won't ever talk again? He took a step towards me, making me flinch a little. "Use your voice, girl. I know it works!" I widened my eyes and opened my mouth, but only silence followed. Suddenly my back hit the door. Hard. I cried out as his fist made contact with my face. I sunk to the floor, raising my hands to block my face. Unfortunately, that did nothing, as he harshly grabbed my wrists, digging his fingers in so hard I knew there'd be bruising. Fred yanked me forward and I fell face first to the floor, my nose taking the fall. Suddenly I was being lifted to my feet by my hair. I silently shrieked and clawed weakly at his arms. Fred just chuckled at my attempts...I screeched again and he dropped me. My knees buckled and I fell to the floor again. I watched from my place on the ground as Fred walked away and into the kitchen, leaving me to crawl away to my room. Getting to my room wasn't so hard, he didn't touch my ribs this time, so I was able to stand up and limp down the hallway. I collapsed on my bed in a heap and took deep breaths. I just wish I could get out of here. Seriously, the second I turn eighteen, I'm out. I don't care if I have to live homeless on the streets. Right now, anywhere sounded better than here. I wasn't laying on my bed for very long before I heard a sharp knock on the door. I sucked in a breath and stood up, limping to my doorway and leaning on the frame. I strained my ears as Fred swung the front door open. "Who are you?" Fred asked gruffly. "I'm in Kimberly's class. She left her backpack and I came to return it." Oh no. I thought, suddenly knowing who it was. "Thank you." Fred said as politely as he could. I heard him take the backpack from the boy's hands. It was that scary guy from earlier, with the changing eyes. There w
