Room for You Chapter 10 Hayley's Probe
Angry and annoyed, Erica immediately thought of Hayley, whom she reckoned was the only person who could help her plot against Anastasia. Therefore, she contacted her to meet her at a cafe. When Hayley arrived, she appeared to be in an inconspicuous outfit. Just like what she usually did, she walked toward Erica and sat down opposite her.
"You said you went away for a trip. Where did you go?" Erica curiously asked.
"Erm… It was just a short trip around the city for a few days. After all, I needed a break," Hayley answered in a panicky manner because she didn't want Erica to know that she had been living like a rich woman lately.
"What about your shop? Aren't you going to be back to business?"
"Nah. The shop isn't doing well lately anyway, so I've decided to take a break." Hayley appeared unconcerned despite the worrying situation in her business.
Erica responded in a huff. "Did you know? Anastasia got on my mom's and my nerves today. She is back, but that's not all because—she is now a mother of an illegitimate son."
Room for You Chapter 11 Anastasia's Rage
"Get out of my face! I'm tired of looking at your face!" Anastasia pointed at the door and yelled at Hayley.
"What's wrong? The man didn't please you well because he wasn't strong and fit enough? You'd better treat me with some manners before everyone in the company knows about your dark secret. If word about it gets out, I wonder how you're going to move on in your career."
Soon, Anastasia dialed the intercom and spoke to Grace. "Please come here." As soon as her assistant arrived, Anastasia pointed at Hayley, who was sitting on the couch, and coldly said, "She is not my guest. Please see her out of this building."
"Who says I'm not? I came here because I wanted to engage your service in jewelry designing." Hayley folded her arms, acting haughtily. However, little did she know that the necklace she was wearing was beginning to catch Anastasia's attention as the latter squinted and looked closer.
How come Hayley is wearing my masterpiece? Is the necklace really custom-made, or is it just a counterfeit that looks like a real one? "You'd better get out of my face before you piss me off." Anastasia stood up, speaking impolitely to Hayley.
Room for You Chapter 12 Anastasia's Way Out—Resignation
"Be a good girl, okay?" Elliot gently caressed Hayley's head.
In that instant, Hayley was over the moon, feeling satisfied that she had gained Elliot's favor. Unlike Anastasia, Hayley was flattered by the sudden entitlement that came to her life. However, she quickly decided to stop pressing on due to her fear of the repercussions that might follow her greed.
Furthermore, she was hoping to win Elliot's heart with her meek character. She tried to be as gentle as possible since she didn't have good looks that could make an impression on any man. Thinking she had won the battle, she believed Anastasia was going to be laid off soon and put her mind to ease.
As soon as Hayley got out of sight, Elliot reached for the phone and dialed the intercom.
"Hello." Anastasia's voice was heard.
"Come to my office at once," the man responded with a voice that sounded angry.
At the same time, Anastasia took a deep breath in her office, thinking her fate was sealed while preparing for the worst. Well, I'll just quit and leave Bourgeois if worse comes to worst. Then, she took the elevator to the 8th floor and made her way to the president's office, whereupon she knocked on the door and entered the room.
Room for You Chapter 13 An Invitation to the Jewelry Fair
At the thought of that, Hayley reached for her phone and dialed Elliot's number.
"Hello, does it still hurt?"
"Elliot, I want to attend a jewelry fair. Can you take me there?" Hayley implored.
"What jewelry fair?"
"Let me show you a video." Hayley hung up the call and forwarded the video to Elliot shortly before she received a text message that briefly read, 'Alright, I'll take you there.'
Hayley exclaimed in excitement but accidentally hurt her swollen cheek in the process. As she hissed in pain, she began to curse Anastasia once again. "You're a b*tch, Anastasia! You're a jewelry designer, yet you can't even attend a high-class jewelry fair like this one."
On the other hand, Anastasia stumbled across the same video about the jewelry fair in her office and learned from the others who were invited that there were formal dress codes required for the occasion; otherwise, access would be denied. Due to that, she became worried, not knowing what she should do because she couldn't afford to rent a decent-looking banquet dress.
Room for You Chapter 14 Hayley's Fear
While the jewelry fair was held in a private exhibition hall with tight security, the alleys and streets around the place were sealed with security guards carefully verifying every guest who was invited to the event. Meanwhile, Anastasia heaved a sigh of relief as soon as she went through the security check with her pearl-beaded purse. After that, she was ready to enjoy the privilege a VIP guest should have in the event, as she was ushered by a female concierge to the banquet hall.
Soon, Anastasia found herself in a grand-looking hall where she could see rows of glass cabinets, but since the event hadn't begun, the guests were invited to enjoy a buffet before they went on to take their seats. It turned out that Anastasia's seat was in the sixth row, which was a place that everyone wished they had. However, little did they know Anastasia considered herself lucky because her seat was initially meant for Nigel.
While the other guests slowly filled the empty seats, Anastasia found herself seated next to a man who seemed to be in his thirties. With his shiny hair and branded outfit, it would suggest that he was no ordinary man. At that moment, he fixed his eyes on Anastasia, finding her different from the others, even though there were many other pretty ladies around. "Nice to meet you, lady. My name is John Curtis. Here is my name card." John gave Anastasia his name card that read, 'president from Deluxe Incorporated'.

Chapter 1 Last Will
Erin tossed all her belongings into her room, breaking and smashing them. Exhausted, she quietly wept in a corner.
Her body shook with profound disappointment upon discovering that the man she had loved for years had toyed with her emotions. He had only granted her a few months of solace before delivering the final blow of punishment.
The accusations from people, pointing fingers at her for a sin she didn't commit, persisted. She had borne the weight of guilt since high school, which continued without relief. When would she ever find her justice?
She sobbed as her lips trembled.
"Erin!" Orion's voice echoed as he pounded on the penthouse door. She had already changed the security code, preventing him from entering.
"Erin! Hear me out. Please… Erin!" His voice quivers audibly from the other end.
But her emotions are weary. Her chest felt drained. It isn't easy to love someone who doesn't love you back.
Erin raised the phone to call security and remove the man from outside her door. Tears streamed down her face. She had anticipated Orion hurting her severely, but not in this manner.
She grabbed the cell phone with a cracked screen, and despite her tear-blurred vision, she called the person she knew would keep her safe.

Chapter 1 A surrogate
~ Julianna ~
“Juli are you alright?” I heard my little brother Noah’s voice. I wanted to cry because I’ll never be alright without him because I have no money to spend on his disease. Shit.
“I’m alright darling. What do you wanna eat?” I asked him as he came to me and hugged me.
“I need bread with cheese Juli” I looked down at his small body and my heart tightened because how am I supposed to save him. I love him and I can’t even think about a day without him. I smiled at him and nodded before going into the kitchen. After breakfast I went to hospital with Noah. As I entered the hospital I saw doctor Peterson. He was one who did and helped everything about Noah.
“Good morning little one” He said with a smile and Noah giggled happily because he really liked this doctor Peterson.
“Good morning Pete” Noah joked as he ran towards the doctor. Then he picked up Noah and nodded at me before going into the Noah’s ward. After some time doctor Peterson came.
“Julianna can I talk to you for a moment?” He asked and I nodded but this is the thing that I fear the most in this life. I have no idea what the doctor wants to tell me but I knew it was all about Noah’s health. Maybe the news will be good or bad but I was just scared.

Chapter 1 Pleasant Voice Like Cello Music
In the largest five-star hotel in Carl City, a chandelier hung from the top, and countless spotlights flashed back and forth in the dreamy venue. The engagement ceremony between Jim Smith, son from the most powerful Smith family across Carl City, and Anne Brown was being held.
But the bride-to-be was frantically chased by three, five bodyguards.
"Stop!"
"So hot..." Anne tugged at her collar. There was an abnormal flush on her cheeks.
You wish, only dummies would stop!
Just then, she had a cup of wine given by her aunt, Kate Turner, and then started to feel unusual heat within herself.
She looked back at those in hot pursuit and ran straight towards the elevator. Although she had no idea what was in the wine, she knew it was definitely not something good given her impression of her aunt! Aware of the abnormality, she certainly would run. She was not stupid!
She pressed the button to the highest floor and let out a sigh of relief when the elevator ascended. Weren't those people so great? Could they fly up here?
Only she didn't know that floor was only open to the most distinguished guests of the hotel. Ordinary people were not allowed to show up there.

Chapter 1 Their Baby
"Ma'am, our examination indicates that your uterine wall is unusually thin, making the fetus's position precarious. It's essential to exercise caution with your diet and physical activities," the doctor explained, holding out a piece of paper to Sabrina Chavez. "Here, take this. Go get the medicine."
"Understood, doctor," Sabrina responded, carefully taking the prescription from the doctor.
The doctor emphasized, "Make sure to take good care of yourself. This is a serious matter." A thin uterine wall can increase the risk of miscarriage. It is unfortunate that many women who experience a miscarriage face difficulties conceiving again.
"Thank you, doctor. I'll take care of myself," Sabrina assured him, a resolute smile playing on her lips.
Having been married for three years, she had eagerly anticipated this baby for the same duration, and she was determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

Chapter 1 NO.
[ thank you noctuaries for the beautiful cover, this chapter is dedicated to you ]
Winter's P.O.V
I walk towards my locker and immediately frown when I see the one and only Gemma Hill standing against it, smirking at me like I am a pathetic excuse of a girl.
I ignore her and start to fiddle with my locker, opening it and starting to take my books out for my first class. I close my locker and as I turn around, I notice that Gemma has disappeared. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion but inside my head, I am fist bumping the air.
Is this the day Gemma Hill is done with the dare? Is she finally out of my life? I smile and spin around to walk to my first class but stop in my tracks when I see Gemma's group of friends standing behind the captain of the cheerleading squad, aka, Gemma.
"What do you want, Gemma?" I ask her, my smile gone now. She flicks her blonde hair over her shoulder and hands me an envelope.
"It's Monday remember?" Gemma smiles at me and I sigh, knowing that my daily routine is ruined, just like every other Monday.
I nod and she pats my head how a person pats their dog's head when it obeys it's owner... and that's what I am.

Chapter 1 Meeting friends
They met in the University during a class, a few weeks before their matriculation, yet it seems like they have known each other for years. They were studying the same course - English and Literature and were in their first year with everything still looking a bit strange to them. The three friends - Anne, Josephine, and Naomi were very different individuals with some similarities. While Anne and Naomi were both from Edo State, Josephine was from Delta State. Both Anne and Josephine were Catholics while Naomi attended a Pentecostal church.
They had gathered for a class at a one-thousand-capacity lecture theatre(LT) and after waiting for close to one hour, it became obvious that the class would not hold. The moment the class rep announced that the class had been canceled, the hall became momentarily rowdy as the majority of the students were going out of the hall at the same time.
"I'm going back to the hostel" Naomi announced, standing up from where she sat.
When she received no response from either Anne or Josephine who were engrossed in their phone, she became pissed and left.
The hall was almost empty when the two friends decided to go home.

Chapter 1 1. Brokenhearted
"Let's break up,"
"What? W-what do you mean?" Grace stammered. A cold sweat started rolling down her back.
"I want to end this relationship," Victor said.
"B-but we've only been dating for two months. Why do you want to break up? What did I do wrong?" The girl asked, almost crying.
"I realized that I've been feeling uncomfortable with you." The boy with thin lips let out a long sigh. "I don't know about you, but I really want to break up. Please don't bother me anymore. Live well. Goodbye,"
Grace was stunned as she watched Victor walk away, leaving her alone in the cafe near their campus. Victor Sbastian; her first love, whom she had a crush on for six years - since high school.
Tears trickled down Grace's cheeks. Her chest felt tight, as if she were drowning in the deepest sea on earth. She cried alone, like a stupid girl.

Chapter 1 The Divorce
"I didn't push Hallie."
For the nth time, Jessica Curtis reiterated to Aaron Morley that she wasn't the one who pushed Hallie Gordon down the stairs.
But Aaron was clearly unconvinced.
"So, what're you saying? That she fell down the stairs on purpose? Jessica, just look at how high this flight of stairs is! Hallie even broke her leg! Do you really think she'd do that on purpose?!"
The more Aaron said, the colder his tone became. "This is your fault. You have to own up to your mistake and apologize to her."
"Apologize?" Jessica echoed in disbelief. Smiling bitterly, she couldn't help but ask, "Is Hallie really that good?"
Jessica and Aaron had been married for three years now.
Three years ago, she had given up on her career to stay at home to take care of Aaron. She got up early to prepare breakfast for him, and she wouldn't go to bed until she had finished cleaning the entire villa. Despite being a housewife, she was busy all day. By the time she'd finally get to lay in bed, sometimes Aaron would come home drunk, and she'd have to get up to whip up some warm soup for him.
Her mother-in-law looked down upon her, and her sister-in-law never took her seriously. The two vicious women tried every means to make things difficult for her, rendering her daily life tortuous.
Still, she endured it all—for Aaron's sake.

Chapter 1 Two Million Dollars For A Baby Boy
"Miss, Madame had said that you can get two million dollars if you have a baby boy and five hundred thousand if you have a baby girl." The old lady said softly.
"Okay." Nancy Ning nodded.
She had no other choice, did she? Her mother was already in desperate need for someone to pay off her hospital bills, and she knew for a fact that her father, Clark Ning, would never shoulder any part of the bills, because he didn't care it at all.
Nancy Ning was angry about that, so she didn't want to beg him to give her some just to shoulder off the few debts. Thus, she tried to turn to her boyfriend, Caspar Yue, for help only to find that he'd been sleeping with her half-sister, Fannie Ning.
Desperate times could only bring desperate measures.
Nancy Ning could only sneer, stomping off.
Lightning strike in the clouds above, the skies thundered in reply. Soon enough, rain drops smashed down onto the pavements as her thin clothes were now considered drenched by the rain.

Chapter 1 Marriage Registration
"Don't be so stiff. Lean in closer!" the photographer ordered as he held his camera in his hand.
Mary Lu leaned against the man uneasily.
"Smile." The photographer frowned. He waved his arms around exasperatedly, not satisfied with all the photos that he had taken. "Wedding photos are supposed to be happy and sweet. Relax!"
Well, this wedding was anything but... She didn't even know what the man next to her looked like now. He probably had an indifferent face.
Mary Lu forced a smile into her face as she stared directly at the camera. Soon, the photos were finally taken. The three of them sighed in relief.
When she walked out, Mary Lu could hear the photographer complaining to himself, "I've never seen such a strange couple. They may look like a match, but they act as if they'd just met!"
Mary Lu sighed and shook her head. She really wanted to act natural, but was there really anything natural about the situation that she had just gotten herself into?
Was this marriage anything to be proud of? The only reason she was getting married in the first place was all because of a contract!
