Chapter 1 Return Of The Goddess
In the Golden Lion Hotel of H City
Mr. Shen was slated to be at the dinner party. Even before he arrived, rumors of his date had gone viral. The whole world knew about it. She was said to be the most heavenly beautiful woman.
When the party was already underway, the door to the banquet hall was opened again. The man and woman who walked in caused quite a stir.
As the two of them slowly strode into the banquet hall, the din rose. The guests were gossiping among themselves.
It was indeed Mr. Shen. He was dressed in a black suit with dark stripes and a pair of dark brown leather shoes. There was a beautiful woman on his arm.
The woman wore a black ankle-length evening dress and a set of sapphire jewelry. She had a delicate makeup on her oval face. The guests could feel her presence in the room. No one could ignore her.
When the partygoers got a good look at the woman's face, many of them gasped. They shot glances at Alina Tang, the hostess of tonight's birthday party, and James Xi, the man at her side.
The appearance of the woman in the banquet caused many to whisper among themselves. "Did you see that woman? Isn't that Maria Song?" one said.

Chapter 1 Agreed To Divorce
The rain steadily poured down against the window. Closing her eyes, Sara Huo listened to the steady pitter-patter, a chill crawling up in her heart. Her pale skin was almost ghost-like against the white tunic dress she was wearing.
Raising her delicate chin, she glanced indifferently at the man in front her. Her amber eyes glistened with remorse. The love she had for him was all in vain.
Sara Huo clenched her fists to calm herself down. Her fingernails scratched the palm of her hand, drawing out small droplets of blood.
After calming herself down a bit, she forced a faint smile.
"What's wrong, Jacob? Why do you want a divorce?" she asked, her voice as clear and as cold as the rain.
The man stared at her coldly, as if she was some stranger instead of his wife.
"Your father's company has gotten enough from me, don't you think? I think both our goals have been achieved. With all that said, it is no longer necessary for us to continue this relationship we have, wouldn't you agree?"

Chapter 1 Who Stole Julia's Husband
Today was a very important day for Julia Gu. Her agent, Consuela Shen, had just informed her of the award she'd receive tonight!
Julia Gu just couldn't wait to share the news with Terence Chen.
However, no matter how much she tried, he still wouldn't answer. Unbothered, Julia Gu simply dialed his number again and again. On the fifth ring, he finally picked up. "What?"
His cold voice was almost unrecognizable that she had to look at her screen to check if it was him.
"Where are you?" The moment the video chat connected, Julia squinted at the screen. Just behind him was the large signage of the infamous motel in H City – Double Q.
This place was infamous for people who were looking for one-night stands or a place to entertain their cheating escapades. Adulteries happened very often here, that the hotel had its own nickname: Catching Adultery!
Coincidentally, a new movie Julia acted in was shot on Double Q, so she was very familiar with the place.

Chapter 1 Great Humiliation
In the Phoenix City.
After spending half an hour in the AY Jewelry Store, Sherry Xu finally decided to buy a necklace the shop assistant had suggested.
However, before she could give her bank card to the shop assistant, an arrogant female voice came from behind her.
"This necklace doesn't look very striking. However, it's unexpectedly a limited edition... I'll take it then!"
The woman's voice was sweet and feminine, but it had an arrogant tone to it that was enough to make anyone feel annoyed.
The woman walked over to the shop assistant, her high heels clacking on the marble floor, and stood beside Sherry Xu. The smell of her perfume gently wafted into the air.
Hearing this, Sherry Xu was stunned for a moment, and wrinkled her nose with distaste. Without casting a mere glance at the woman, Sherry Xu handed her credit card to the shop assistant. "Wrap this up, please," she said.

Chapter 1 The Rumor
In the mourning hall, the air was heavy with grief. Heidy Hua stood quietly at the side, her eyes red with tears as she stared at the man in the coffin. There were many people who came to mourn, all of them bowing to pay their respects.
"I'm sorry for your loss," they would all say as they came up to her.
"Thank you," she would reply, her hands gracefully folded in front of her as she bowed back to them.
As she looked at her father lying down on the coffin, Heidy wished with all her might that he was just playing a prank on her, that he was just asleep and that he would soon open his eyes to tell her that he was still alive. However, it seemed more like a nightmare from which she couldn't be able to wake up from. The more she thought about it, the more pain she felt in her heart. But she had to endure it. She couldn't let herself break down.
The ceremony was still going on, and more and more people came to mourn. After having a word with the steward, Heidy went off and walked towards the villa in the backyard. It had been over twenty four hours since she had had some decent sleep. With her head throbbing, Heidy just wanted to have a few minutes of rest.

Chapter 1 Divorce
"Divorce."
A mere pair of delicate paper sheets marked the conclusion of a four-year marriage.
Hannah Moore's slender fingers touched the inked name of her husband on the document. Raising her eyes to meet Declan Edwards's, a tearful glint was unmistakable.
"Is there no chance for us?"
Her voice wavered slightly, strained from emotion and the exertion of household chores. Beads of sweat clung to her forehead, sticking to her thick black eyeglass frames, making her appear awkward and plain.
Anticipating his return tonight, excited to discuss their future, she had gotten up early, handpicked fresh produce, cooked, and tidied the house. Her efforts felt futile upon hearing the gut-wrenching news.
"Our marriage was essentially a business arrangement," Declan snapped, flicking ash from his cigarette. "Plus, Eliana will return soon."
So that was it.
Eliana Patel, the woman who occupied his heart, was the one he could never let go of.

Chapter 1 Groomless Wedding
“Poor bride. She’s been standing there for hours waiting for the groom,” I heard a woman’s whispering voice.
“It’s truly so sad. I can’t imagine how sad she’s feeling,” Another woman replied in a hushed tone.
“Do you think the groom has ditched her?” A man whispered in a low voice.
“That would be too sad. Please don’t say that…” Another woman replied with what seemed to be genuine sadness in her voice.
I stood silently in front of the altar in a white wedding dress that was far too elegant for my tastes and far too heavy for my comfort. The overly high-heel shoes that I was wearing was starting to hurt my feet and my legs were starting to feel sore from standing still for too long. I clenched and then unclenched my hands together for the hundredth time, or something along those lines since I had already lost count.
The sequined lace fabric of the dress that covered my arms in a long sleeve was itchy, not that anyone cared. I didn’t choose this dress. I have never met my groom. I was in love with another man. Most of all, I didn’t want to get married.

Chapter 1 Meeting friends
They met in the University during a class, a few weeks before their matriculation, yet it seems like they have known each other for years. They were studying the same course - English and Literature and were in their first year with everything still looking a bit strange to them. The three friends - Anne, Josephine, and Naomi were very different individuals with some similarities. While Anne and Naomi were both from Edo State, Josephine was from Delta State. Both Anne and Josephine were Catholics while Naomi attended a Pentecostal church.
They had gathered for a class at a one-thousand-capacity lecture theatre(LT) and after waiting for close to one hour, it became obvious that the class would not hold. The moment the class rep announced that the class had been canceled, the hall became momentarily rowdy as the majority of the students were going out of the hall at the same time.
"I'm going back to the hostel" Naomi announced, standing up from where she sat.
When she received no response from either Anne or Josephine who were engrossed in their phone, she became pissed and left.
The hall was almost empty when the two friends decided to go home.

Chapter 1 The Benton Family
A woman in a white T-shirt and jeans walked out of the train station in Douburgh with a suitcase.
Her delicate face turned slightly red as the sun hit her. She tucked wisps of curly hair behind her ears. Under her arched eyebrows were a pair of bright and pretty eyes, a slim nose, and cherry lips. She looked so beautiful even though she had no make-up on.
"Hello! You are Annabel Hewitt, right? I'm the driver sent by the Benton family."
Annabel nodded and followed the driver into the car casually. She was already worn out.
On the way, the driver stole glances at the woman, whose eyes were closed as she rested in the back seat.
This woman was Rupert Benton's fiancee.
Rupert Benton was the most eligible bachelor in the city. At just twenty-one years old, he was already the CEO of Benton Group. He was way ahead of his peers. He was a vigorous, resourceful and no-nonsense person, causing many in the business world to be afraid of him.
His grandfather, Bruce Benton, took it upon himself to find a wife for him. And he picked Annabel, a girl from the countryside.

Chapter 1 Divorce
When Brenda Sanchez left the court, she had two divorce certificates in her hands. However, she was unusually calm.
They had been married for more than three years. Was she sad about the divorce?
Of course, she was. But there was more relief.
Her ex-husband, Miguel Hamilton, didn't love her. Even when he drank too much last night and made love to her for the first time, the name he called was the one of another woman.
Suppressing her depression, Brenda stood by the side of the road and hailed a taxi. After a while, a black Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of her. Through the half-open window, she saw the cold eyes of a handsome man sitting in the driver's seat.
Rich and charming—the perfect description of Miguel.
"The hospital has issued another critical illness notice for Veronica. Come with me to the hospital," he said indifferently after sparing her a glance.
