As the blaring alarm pierced the morning silence, it was clear that today was not going to start smoothly for Orion Blanchard.
"Ugh, why so loud, alarm clock?" she groaned, squinting at the bright numbers on the display. 5:34 AM. Panic washed over her as she realized she was dangerously close to being late for her 6 AM history class, yet again.
Frantically rushing to get ready, Orion cursed her luck and her stubborn alarm clock, which seemed to have a knack for failing her at the worst times.
With no time to spare for grooming, she dashed out the door, hoping against hope to make it to class on time. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve as she faced the daunting task of climbing the stairs in the College of Arts and History, lacking the convenience of an elevator.
Breathless and dizzy from the exertion, Orion collided with an unexpected obstacle on her ascent. "Ouch! What the-Oh my, why, hello there, Sir Padalecki!" she stammered, caught off guard by the handsome figure blocking her path.
"Good morning, Miss Blanchard," his deep voice resonated, sending shivers down her spine. Why did he always have this effect on her?
Trying to regain her composure, Orion attempted a flirty response, complimenting his hair and inwardly cursing her own awkwardness.
But Sir Padalecki remained unfazed, his hazel eyes locking onto hers with a knowing gaze. "Do you know what time it is, Miss Blanchard?" he quizzed, his smirk suggesting he was onto her game.
Caught in her own web of excuses, Orion stumbled over her words, desperately trying to salvage the situation with feeble attempts at humor.
However, Sir Padalecki was having none of it. With a sigh, he revealed the harsh reality of her lateness, leaving Orion with no choice but to accept the consequences.
As they entered the classroom, Orion couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for her tardiness, knowing she had once again let herself down in front of her favorite professor. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being Orion Blanchard, she mused, shaking her head at her own misfortune.
