My little green plum seems to think that I've fallen in love with someone else. While I was crying from the sting of her onions, she comforted me not to be troubled by love. Sigh, she's so naive. If I don't protect her for a lifetime, wouldn't that be ridiculous?
Roger Meyer loved Sylvia Saunders, but he failed to get together with her. When she got married that day, Roger and I went to attend her wedding banquet.
During the banquet, he even used my handkerchief to wipe away his tears.
As we were about to head back to our home, he tilted his head and gazed at the sky. He looked so sad. with tears in his eyes. "It's so hard... We can't go back."
He must be devastated today because Sylvia got married today.
I didn't know how to comfort him.
After pondering for a while, I finally said, "I know... You still can't forget her."
Roger forced a smile and said, "Are you out of your mind? Our carriage got stolen!"

My mother passed away when I was a little girl, and it wasn't surprising that I was raised like a tomboy, as my father was a military general.
The noble ladies in Jasperton excelled in sewing, embroidery, poetry, and all sorts of refined arts. When I was thirteen, I was already chasing hooligans down the street with a broadsword.
Girls my age didn't like hanging out with me. Roger's father and mine were colleagues, so I spent my days trailing after Roger.
As time passed, we grew up.
We were of the age to get married.
When the young man next door got married, I went to the wedding banquet.
The dishes dazzled me as they were far better than anything our family's cook could make.
After I was full, I ran back home and said to my father, "I want to marry a woman as well."
My father choked on his wine, sprayed it everywhere, and asked if I'd gone mad.
I said, "I want to marry a woman and throw a banquet so that I can enjoy endless delicious dishes."
My father rubbed his chin thoughtfully and laughed. "Alright. Go and let Roger marry into our family."
It was a brilliant idea. Roger surely wouldn't refuse to do so.
When I found Roger, he was standing by a refuge shed on the roadside and clutching his sword in silence.
Beside him stood a beautiful young woman. She was ladling porridge and handing out silver coins to the poor.
She was none other than Sylvia, the famous noble lady in Jasperton. Her father was Magnus, one of the top officials.
I waved at Roger, but he didn't see me.
When I ran over, someone suddenly overturned the Saunders. So the crowd was in chaos.
Some assassins had disguised themselves among the crowd. They drew their swords and charged at Sylvia and Roger.
Without hesitation, I drew my broadsword and swung it in a frenzy at the assassins. Though I didn't injure them, I managed to shred their clothes into tatters.
Roger shouted, "Protect Miss Saunders."
I hoisted my broadsword and rushed toward her. Just as the assassin's blade was about to strike Sylvia, I lunged forward.
Unfortunately, I missed it.
I tripped and fell to the ground.
Sylvia stared at me in disbelief, while the assassin behind her raised his sword high. In that instant, blood splattered everywhere, and Roger had shielded Sylvia from the sword.
Magnus's men quickly subdued the assassins. I looked at Roger and panicked as I saw him drenched in blood. "Roger! Hang in there! Please, don't die! Roger, I'll surely avenge you!"
I cradled him in my arms and cried my heart out.
His face was pale as he raised his hand. I leaned in to hear his final words. "I think I'll survive... Just let me go and call a doctor over..." With that, his head lolled to the side, and he fainted.
Roger was tough, and the doctor was exceptionally skilled.
I bought him a ton of health tonics and remedies, filling his room to the brim. He was wrapped in bandages and had bitter medicine as he recuperated for over half a month.
When he saw me, he frowned and said, "Clarissa, I'm not dead yet. Can you stop looking like you've lost your husband?"
"You're mine, little puppy," Kylan growled against my neck. A soft gasp escaped my lips as his lips brushed my skin. My mind screamed at me to push him away-the Lycan Prince who had humiliated me again and again, but my body betrayed me, leaning into him before I could stop myself. He pressed his lips against mine, and his kiss grew more aggressive, more possessive as I felt my legs weaken. What was I doing? In a split-second, I pulled away and slapped him hard across the face. Kylan's eyes darkened, but the smirk on his lips exposed his amusement. "You and I both know we can't fight this, Violet," he said, gripping my wrist. "You're my mate." "And yet you don't want me," I replied. "You told me you were ashamed of me, that l'd never be your queen, that you'd never love me. So please, accept my rejection and let me go." "Never," he whispered, his grip tightening as he pulled me closer. "Soon enough, you'll be begging for me. and when you do-I'll use you as I see fit and then I'll reject you."
