Chapter 1 Revealing The Betrayal

Anne's POV

"Timothy Bones, how do you feel about your big achievement?"

"Well, I'm happy about it, but I won't say that I got here myself." "I want to thank those who cheered me," my husband said, the smile on my face widening, expecting him to call my name, but he didn't.

Still, my heart was racing fast. I knew I had made the best decision by marrying him. "I'm going to prove my brothers wrong now," I said, and walked to the kitchen.

I opened the fridge and started taking out some foodstuffs. I planned on making Timothy's best food. This was exactly what I'd define as from grass to grace.

By the time I finished cooking, I heard the doorbell ring. I quickly hurried out of the kitchen to the front door, without even peeping through the pinhole. I opened the door of the room to see that Timothy was standing outside the door.

"Honey," I yelled and opened my hand widely for him to hug me, but he shoved me to the side,

I paused for a second, wondering if he acted too cold. I watched him a few minutes ago on the news, and he didn't sound like that.

Ignoring his attitude, I trailed behind him until we got to the room,

"Honey, should I prepare a bath for you? I prepared food for you. "I'll dish it before you finish!" I said. But he didn't even turn to gaze at me before responding,

"Don't worry about the food I've eaten."

He loosened the tie on his neck and took off his shirt before entering the bathroom.

I waited on the bed, gazing at him with eyes filled with confusion. I asked,

"Did you have a bad day? Did anything wrong happen?"

"Is this because I don't have an appetite to eat your food?" he asked, but before I could even respond, he said, frowning at me,

"You know what? "Dish the food for me, I guess I'll have just a little," he said, and I hurried out of the room.

I went to the kitchen and served the food to Timothy, ignoring his attitude.

I waited patiently for him to come to the dining room to have his dinner, but when he did, he was all dressed,

"Honey, where are you going?" I asked, confused.

"Since when did you have the right to start asking me where I'm going to?" he asked.

I was confused. Before, I didn't ask where he was going, he would tell me.

I was dumbfounded that my tongues were tied. "Least I forget, I need you to sign these papers," he said and stretched his hand towards me with a stack of white papers on them.

I swallowed hard, feeling a bit taken back. As I took the paper from me and flipped through the first blank white page of the paper, my eyes fell on the word,

"A divorce agreement."

"What?" I asked, confused.

"What's the matter?" Timothy asked, trying to straighten his tie,

"You're kidding, aren't you? "There's no way that you want to divorce me, this must be a joke!" I said, throwing the paper in his direction.

"That's your headache and not mine! "Make sure you sign those papers before I'm back and pack your things. "I don't want you back here!" he said, causing my heart to sink almost immediately.

"You're joking aren't you?" I asked,

"Do you see a smile on my face? "You better stop deceiving yourself and listen to me," he said.

"Sign these papers and get the hell out of my house before the true love of my life arrives!" he said sternly.

I shook my head, refusing to believe his words, "If you will excuse me, I have to get fully ready for my date. My deal calls for celebration."

"We... "We should be celebrating," I stuttered, but he scoffed, "You wish," He glared at me before heading straight towards the room.

"Maybe he's planning a surprise for me and, in fact, both of us are going for the date", I muttered in a low breath, praying that it wasn't what I thought it to be.

I sat at the dining table and began to eat the food that I had served to Timothy. There was still a lot in the pot. I didn't have anything this morning because I chose to pray with an empty stomach to God for his contract to get signed because it means a whole thing to us.

"Anne, don't worry. "Once I get this contract, I'll make sure to expand your gallery," I recalled those words vividly as he just said them.

Timothy had promised me so much, but now that he had the contract, he chose to do something else. "Hell! No!"

Ding! The doorbell outside rang.

I abandoned the food that I was eating and walked to the door. The second I opened it, my eyes fell on Timothy's best friend.

"Kate! You didn't tell me you were coming over. "Thank Goodness you're here," I said, but she frowned. I tried taking her handbag from her, but she pushed my hand away,

Suddenly, Timothy walked into the sitting room. Kate turned to him and asked furiously, "You told me that she'd be gone by the time that I arrived! What the hell is she still doing here?"

I was stunned. Disbelief washed all over me. For a second, I could bet that there was definitely something wrong.

"I don't understand! Is... Wait! "Timothy!" I called his name in a rage,

"Do not make me repeat myself, Anne. I don't want to see you here by the time I'm back. "Sign the agreement and leave this house," he said. A smug smile curled up on Kate's face.

She was the last person I thought would do that.

In anger and frustration, I walked towards the table where the divorce agreement was and signed it,

"Done! I've signed it." I paused and wiped the tears that welled up in my eyes,

"Rot in hell!" I added.
