"Since I was a child, I was abducted by human traffickers due to my parents' negligence. After enduring twenty years of suffering, they found me and said they wanted to take me home. It wasn't until I returned that I realized they only wanted me for my heart, to match it for a sister I had never met. After the surgery, I died on the operating table due to an infection. In my unwillingness to accept my fate, my soul floated above, watching my sister who had already undergone surgery, and seeing the warmth of a family together made my heart ache with bitterness. In this new life, back when my parents initially came to recognize me, I didn't even give them a chance to speak. I directly threw myself to the ground, hugging their legs and crying, 'Wuwuwu, Mom and Dad, you finally came! I have AIDS, and since you're so rich, could you please send me some money for treatment?' Watching the two of them flee in panic, they won't even have a chance to want my heart again in this lifetime."

Chapter 1

I got kidnapped by human traffickers as a kid because my parents weren't careful. After twenty years of a brutal life, they tracked me down and said they wanted to take me home.

Only after I returned did I realize they just wanted my heart for a transplant to save my sister, someone I'd never even met.

An infection killed me on the operating table after the surgery. My soul, unwilling to let go, floated above, watching my sister, now recovered from her operation, basking in the warmth of our family. The sight tore me apart.

Given a second chance at life, I found myself back at the moment my parents came to claim me. I didn't give them a chance to speak. I threw myself on the ground, clung to their legs, and wailed, "Mom, Dad, you're finally here! I've got AIDS. You're so rich, please give me some money for treatment!"

Watching them flee in a panic, I knew they'd never get my heart this time. No way.

I was hauling boxes behind the bar when, unsurprisingly, two people stopped in front of me.

Just like in my memories, they were dressed to the nines, dripping in designer brands-enough to fund a family's dreams for a lifetime.

They seemed caught off guard when I looked straight at them. A flicker of embarrassment crossed their faces before they quickly masked it with expressions of sorrow.

I watched their performance stone-faced. My expression stayed blank, but inside, I was practically bursting with glee.

"Well, well, well, these two old relics showed up just like before," I thought. "Let's see what tricks they've got up their sleeves this time."

Sure enough, after putting on their sad faces, the woman spoke first.

"Are you Jocelyn? I'm your mother. When you were little, you got lost and were taken by traffickers. Your dad and I searched for you for so long." She dabbed at her eyes, which were completely dry.

The man beside her, who'd been acting like it was none of his business, got a nudge from her and quickly mimicked her, wiping his own eyes with a fake look of grief.

Honestly, their crocodile tears were so embarrassing I could barely stand it. My toes curled against the ground in secondhand shame.

I couldn't believe I fell for this in my last life. My so-called mother's words dripped with disdain, blaming me for being "careless" when it was their negligence that gave the traffickers an opening. Apparently, they were blameless.

At that thought, I let out a cold laugh. "You've got the wrong person. I was kidnapped because my parents weren't careful. If your daughter got lost because she was careless, she's definitely not me. You'd better double-check before you start claiming relatives." With that, I grabbed my box and turned to leave.

As I walked away, I muttered under my breath, "These days, people will claim anyone as family without even checking."

I didn't care how ugly their expressions were behind me.

After I shut them down, my parents' faces twisted with a mix of lingering sadness and raw anger, making them look almost feral.

Back in their car parked by the road, my mom Gina snapped irritably as soon as they sat down. "What's going on? Weren't you sure it was that girl moving boxes?"

My dad Garfield was just as confused. In all his years running the company, no one had ever dared speak to him like that. "How should I know? The info said it was her. The photo matched too."
