Down On Her Knees

I stared at the piles of work I completed today and let out a groan. Why me? My neck hurts so bad and I felt seriously tired.

Every single time I think about it, I felt like I have such a bad luck. Last year I got dumped by the douchebag I was dating. I lost my previous job due to my stupid temper and ego and now what- I just got employed into another company as the secretary of the CEO, Mr. Xander James, the ruthless and cold hearted CEO that everyone knows.

'I can now accept that he is ruthless indeed'. I thought as I stared at the Piles of work.

I stood up and straightened my skirt and smooth my messed up hair. Most of the light in the office have been switched off and its dark outside as I stood alone in my tiny office looking so hungry and frustrated. I walk to the transparent wall to the transparent wall of the company and stared into the city.

'Grrrrrr' I sighed and felt my stomach growled at the same time. I looked back and thought, 'Did anyone hear that? So embarrassing'

I groaned and walked to the coffee machine and make myself a cup of coffee. I stood by the table enjoying my refreshing coffee. My days in this office have been so tough and hard. I get the feelings my Co-workers don't like me especially the ladies always looking at me like I'm here for their man. And the CEO always giving me plenty work to do. 'Ughhh'. I gulp down the remaining coffee and bang the cup on the table. 'I hate them all! I hate the CEO!'

My eyes moved to the CEO office by my right side, I grinned and walk towards it. I quietly open the door and stepped inside. The desk lamp was the only light on in the room making the room so dim. I checked to see if the CEO is still around but realize that there is no one in the room. 'Maybe he left early today- but that seems unusual for Mr. Xander James' I thought and walking towards the desk. I have never had the opportunity take a look at his magnificent office properly before, Even his handsome face.

'What if he just burst into the office and caught me snooping around. I could imagine his angry face' I smiled and leaned on his desk picking up the picture frame on his desk.

'This man was born handsome, he even look so handsome in his childhood picture. No wonder his ego is through the roof. I'm sure he will have plenty girls chasing him' I placed the frame back quietly and make my way to the door- I stopped hearing the faint sound of a door closing inside the office. I turned around looking for where the sound is coming from then I realized it came from the private suite in the office- A thief? I quickly looked for something to grab, I picked up a pen from the desk incase I need to defend myself.

'Mia Maxwell, how could you be so stupid and think pen would save you from the thief' My courage starts to diminish and replaced with fear. I placed my ear on the door leading to the private suite trying to hear what's going on inside.

I was about to straighten up when the door suddenly open and I fell into the room. I closed my eyes in fear and screamed when I felt someone dragging me up from the floor. I opened my eyes to see it's the CEO looking down at me angrily. I could imagine smoke coming out of his nose due to anger.

'The CEO!!- I'm dead for sure!'.

"Who the F*** are you?" He asked pushing me into the nearest wall.

"I'm sorry Mr. James, I didn't mean to spy on you. I'm your new secretary, I_I just want to- please don't get the wrong idea" I said rambling and trying to find a good excuse.

I looked up and that's when I get to have a good look at him. He was wearing a white robe and his hair is wet, which means he just got out of the shower. I realized the position we are in with my back against the wall and him standing so close to me. His scent filled the space between us and I could feel myself getting short of breath. I licked my dry lips.

"You want to...? He brought me out of my daze

"I just want to take a look at the office. I didn't realize you are still around" I replied looking down. He stared at me and smirked with his gaze roaming through my whole body.

'What an asshole!!' I thought.

"Why do you want to take a look at my office, or are you planning to do something"

"No! I wasn't planning on doing anything" I replied quickly.

He eyed me up and down and took a step closer, closing the tiny space between us. I could literally feel his breath on my face. I close my eyes in panic and hold my breath.

I heard him chuckle and left me by the wall, walking towards his wardrobe at the far end of the suite while I stood like an Idiot staring at him.

He turned around and frowned saying, "Are you not leaving or you want to watch me dress up?"

"Oh...I..I sorry, I will leave now" I said rambling and rushing out of the room.

'Wow!! That was epic.. I clearly forgot to breath staring at those sexy eyes' I thought taking a deep breath to calm myself down.

I rushed to my office to pack my belongings before he is out of his office. I can't bear to face him again after this encounter. I finished packing up and in some minutes, I was out of the company and on my way home.
