Chapter 1 The birthday party

Julian Robertson is known as the house keeper of the Robertson family by the outside world, only those in the family knows she is the twin sister of Jane Robertson. She has been cast aside because she was born with a rare disease. Her mother Judith Robertson took her to the mountains and handed her over to the monk at the Tunil temple promising to come back for her but in actual fact, she wasn't going to go back for her. She believed that the disease would end sooner than later. She left her address and details with the monk before disappearing into the night where an aeroplane awaits her.

The Robertson were at the peak of their lives and they did everything

possible to avoid the media. If the media finds out they have a child who is born with such a rare disease, it would surely cause an outburst and could plummet their company shares, so the family agreed to send her away. Julian grew up with the monk, she learned so fast and grew up radiating beauty. When the monk waited and saw that Judith ( Julian's mother) never intended to return, he took her to his eldest brother and made her his disciple before he died.

At the Robertson villa, a grand carpet made its way all the way to the living room. It was Jane's 20th birthday party. The Robertson being an affluent family spares no fund as they went out of their way to give their daughter a befitting birthday party. All the wealthy guests were seated accordingly. One can tell how much worth a person is by glancing at their appearance. Mr Robertson senior was the happiest as this party was sure to bring more business contracts. There was the Jake empire who deals with mines, the Scoth family who are in the real estate business, and the Lucas were the richest in Alveron city. Other big families were invited too. While some families came in person, the Lucas sent their younger generation to attend because they were hoping George Lucas the heir would go to find a young miss who will be worthy enough to be called Mrs Lucas .

Jane Robertson came down from the spiral stairs in a grand step, she wore a S signature dress, silver heels, and a diamond necklace which her father Megwel Robertson had bought from an auction house some days back. Her hair dangled behind a slender neck, her fair skin was sparkling. She was an epitome of beauty. She wore a genuine smile on her pretty face. When Jane Robertson came down , she walked to her grandfather and greeted him before going to her parents who were welcoming guests at the entrance of the villa. This earned some murmurs from the guests. The women nudged their sons to make acquittance saying that a respectable young miss like Jane deserved to be their daughter in-law. Their conversation of course did not go unnoticed to Mr Robertson senior who seemed to be smiling from ear to ear. He had properly watched and nurtured Jane to be the best in all of Alveron city.

At the corner of the hall was George Lucas who was accompanied by his butler. He had come in unnoticed by the Robertson family except the security. He wanted to please his grandma who insisted he attends on their behalf or she will never speak to him again. George Lucas loves his grandmother the most, she has always indulged him in whatever he chooses to do. He loves every member of his family but his grandmother was his weak point.
