Blurb Did you think that I would marry you instead of her? Common, you are only an orphan, whom no one knows originated from, Vickson's words kept repeating in Hailey's head, after he had just embarrassed her by choosing her stepsister as his mate instead. As if that was not enough for him, he still forced himself on her. And Hailey is blamed by her adoptive mother, as she forces both of them to get married. Her adoptive mother didn't want to bear the shame of what people would say. But her stepsister, Ava, rather dies than watch the two of them live in peace as husband and wife. So Ava becomes their worst nightmare!
Hailey's POV
Everyone was gathered in the ballroom, waiting patiently for Vickson. But, no one was as anxious as I was. I have been waiting for him for the past two years. I was there to wave him goodbye when he went for his Alpha training. And now, I am here waiting for his arrival.
And today, there was a huge celebration to welcome him. Today won't just be his welcoming ceremony, but the day he will announce his mate and future Luna to everyone present.
The door was wide open, and everything happening outside could be visible. It was as if the atmosphere changed when a white car pulled up right in front of the house. Everyone's gaze was now focused on that white car.
I began to adjust my hair, to make sure that I looked perfect.
I was so in love with this guy, and he loved me even more. He just needed to go for this training, and he promised to come back and get married to me. But, there was one problem. Was he my mate? What if the moon goddess decides to give me another mate? What will I do then?
My mouth widened when I saw Vickson coming down from the car. I hadn't spoken to him or seen him for the past two years, and he looked even more handsome. His looks took my breath away, literally, because I stopped breathing at some point.
My cheeks flushed red when he began to walk in my direction.
"Mate!" My wolf screamed in my head, and I felt the mate bond between us.
I bit my lower lip in excitement when he came close to me, but my heart sank to my stomach, as he walked past me, and hugged my Stepsister.
Right in front of me, they both hugged and kissed. I stood there frozen, as I wiped my eyes. Was I dreaming or something? He didn't even act like he saw me, it was as if I had become invisible.
My heart was beyond broken, as a lump formed in my throat.
"She is my mate!" he declared in the presence of everyone.
Why was he lying to everyone?
My eyes swirled with tears, as I hid my face with shame and ran upstairs to my room.
I slammed the door of my room behind me, as I began to make a mess of everything. I took a flower vase, and threw it in the mirror, scattering my dresser as well.
How could he betray me like that? He promised me that I was the only one in his life. And to do it with my stepmother as well. What did I do to him? I don't deserve this.
I broke down in tears, as I fell to the floor, crying my eyes out.
I turned around to see someone opening my door.
"Get out! Leave me alone you traitor", I attacked Vickson, hitting him on the chest with my fragile hands.
"Don't do that" he held my wrist, stopping me.
"How could you even do this to me? And with my step-sister? There are over a million women in the world and you chose Ava? Why did you have to be so cruel?" I asked him, with tears in my eyes.
He locked the door behind us and pinned me to the door.
"Did you think that I would marry you instead of her? Common, you are only an orphan, whom no one knows originated from. You don't even have a strong wolf to make up for it. You are weak, and will be a liability to me.
You should even be grateful, I dated you in the first place" his words were like a dagger, digging deep into my chest.
I suddenly became weak, as I let myself go, melting to the floor like ice.
He didn't even let me crash to the ground in peace, as he held my wrist, stopping me from coming in contact with the floor.
"But, to be honest with you, I did enjoy dating you. I enjoyed the meals you made me, and the rest. But, you are not just good enough to be my Luna'' he continued to hurt me.
"Then, why did you even give me false hope in the first place? You should never have promised me marriage", I screamed at him.
"I didn't give you any false hope. You just kept forcing yourself on me" he said, caressing my face.
"Get your filthy hands off me". I pushed his hand away from me.
"I've always wanted to know what you taste like. Mate!" He bit his lower lip, and brought his lips close to my neck.
"Don't touch me, you are a monster", I scolded him, as he tried to get even closer to me.
I pushed his hand away, but he was too strong for me.
He dragged me to bed and went on top of me.
"You can't do this, Vickson". I tried to fight back, but he had my legs and hands pinned down.
"Shhh! Don't fight it, I know that you want it just as much as I do. You don't have to put up with this act, when it's just the both of us in one room." he whispered hotly in my ear, and if not for his betrayal.
Then, I would have found it romantic.
But, I was still madly in love with this man despite everything.
And because of that, I found it very difficult to resist him. Even my mate didn't want to let him go, she just kept shouting and begging for him.
He laid me silently on the bed, and came on me. His hands caressed my face, as his lips rubbed against mine.
I blinked my eyes slowly, and just watched, as he took advantage of me.
I let his hands move everywhere, and his kisses still stimulated me like they used to. It was just as I imagined my wedding night to be, it was the perfect atmosphere. But, it was the worst time, and with the worst person.
Yet, my wolf refused to be tamed . She wanted him more than me. And she was in perfect control of my body.
