I noticed that my boyfriend Wang Jun had been acting a bit strangely these past few days, so I kept an eye on him, and it turned out there really was a problem - he has found someone new on the side. Having discovered the fact that they were cheating, I started to take action. I casually befriended Lu Xinxin and even went on a short trip with her; we hit it off very well. Lu Xinxin and Wang Jun were dating frequently, which deeply affected me, and I was thinking of ways to expose their true colors...

Chapter 1

Everyone saw my husband, Sam Rogers, a model husband, yet I suspect he had cheating.

Recently, I had noticed that Sam has been coming home late every day, citing reasons like overtime, business social events, and meetings.

When it came to overtime, I was skeptical. Given his current position, it was unlikely he needed to work late as frequently as before.

He claimed that business social events and various meetings were just another form of overtime.

If it was socializing, then why didn't he smell of alcohol? He retorts, asking if I would prefer him to come home drunk every night.

No matter how he explained it, I couldn't shake the suspicion because there was a faint scent of perfume on him. It was subtle, but as a woman, my sense of smell was naturally keen.

Since questioning him yielded no answers, I had decided to take action and follow him. I refused to believe his nonsense.

I ordered a coffee and waited by the window in a café across from his office, ready to catch him in the act.

After work, a stream of people flowed out of his company's main entrance.

Ten minutes later, even his boss emerged, got into his car, and drove off.

Yet, Sam was nowhere to be seen. Just as I was about to believe he was working late, he finally sauntered out.

He stood at the entrance, checked his watch impatiently, made a call, and then calmly stepped back, leaning against a pillar by the glass door, looking like he was waiting for someone.

Within ten minutes, a convertible racer gracefully pulled up in front of him.

I picked up the binoculars from the table and saw a woman dressed to impress in the driver's seat. He deftly opened the passenger door, bent down, and got in, and the car roared away.

I got up from my seat and hailed a cab to head home.

Our home is a two-bedroom apartment Sam bought with a mortgage.

At the time, I wanted to contribute, but he insisted I keep my money for myself, saying women had many expenses.

We were just one official document away from being married.

He said we'd handle both when he got promoted, calling it a double celebration.

His promotion was a sure thing, expected in three to six months, so I was willing to wait.

I was a civil servant at a government agency, working five days a week with no overtime, no physical strain, and great benefits. I enjoyed my job, even though it could get busy at times, but mostly it was relaxed and respectable.

When I got home, I documented my first day of surveillance in the shared work log on our computer.

This was a habit from when we were in love, sharing our joys and frustrations openly, not just for ourselves but for each other, to prevent repeating mistakes.

But that was a habit from the past. Would Sam even remember?

The next day, before Sam left for work, I discreetly placed a tiny bug in his pocket, securing it so he wouldn't notice or lose it.

In the evening, as I was leaving work, I overheard their rendezvous location and decided to join the game.

As usual, I found a secluded spot, sipping coffee while listening to their whispered sweet romantic words.

These were the same words Sam had said to me over two years ago, now heard again as an observer, offering a different perspective and stirring emotions.

I thought to myself, people could be so easily swayed. Sweet words could be more effective than anything else, easily swaying people with just a few lip movements, making them forget the present.

Then, like any couple in love, they went into a hotel and got a room.

I lost interest and headed home.

I wouldn't burst into their room or disrupt their night.

But in the end, I always paid the debt.
