Emily Cooper had started working at Clubcats as a Bar attendant. It was a part time and contract job that was due the following month. In the past 11 months, she had done nothing exceptional other than serving the normal customers who comes around every night. It was the only job she had managed to lay her hands on after graduating from College and job hunting for two years, so she had worked diligently.
At Clubcats, it was well-known that whenever a contract staff is asked to serve the VIPs, it only meant one thing - full employment and of course, a salary increment because their boss worships his VIPs and will never let anyone come in between them.
As Emily headed towards the dressing room, she couldn't wait to break the news to her best friend, Kristine who introduced her to the job and has been working as a full time employee for more than a year.
Kristine was beyond excited to hear the news but there was only a little time to show excitement. Emily was a beautiful woman in her late twenties, with striking hazel eyes and cascading brown curls that frame her face. Her slim physique and beautiful smile was a plus.
Looking at the mirror, she wore her uniform proudly; serving the VIP came with a different uniform -- a special one than the regulars.
Emily paused at the door, holding a pan and took a deep breath before pushing the door opened. She beamed with smiles as she bent low and softly whispered to the customers at each table if they needed anything.
After a few minutes of going around tables with smiles and soft nods, She decided to take a break and admire the lounge and silently praying she won't be a jinx that night.
"Wow! This is different" Emily exclaimed softly, entertaining her eyes as she rolled them in 360°
"Hey!" A VIP customer called out rudely.
"Me?" She asked inaudibly, pointing her index finger to herself.
The young man furrowed his brows, almost looking disappointed.
"Finally" Emily sighed and whispered to herself before rushing to him. This was her first customer and she was not going to mess things up, never.
"Hello sir, what may I help you with?" Emily politely asked, still maintaining those fake smiles that made her cheeks hurt.
The young man scoffed and threw a few dollar notes on the table and signaled her with his eyes and face, asking her to grab the champagne glass and pour herself a drink.
Emily chuckled at that. "I'm sorry sir, I can't have a drink with you. I'm here to serve you"
He scoffed harder and sighed in disappointment. The man before her was Jason Dafferson, the CEO of Dafferson Empire, renowned for his wealth, power, and authority. As the CEO of the Dafferson Empire, his presence is both magnetic and intimidating. With sharp, chiseled features and a strong jawline, he possessed a rugged handsomeness that is impossible to ignore. His deep-set, piercing eyes reflects a cold, calculating nature, often giving off a sense of detachment that can be unnerving to those around him. Besides being the city's most eligible bachelor, Jason had a notorious social life. If he wasn't in a boardroom making significant decisions, he was likely at a bar, drinking himself into oblivion and tonight was one of those days.
He grabbed the dollar notes with all of his might and threw it before her. "And that is why I'm offering you this...."
He smiled when he noticed the expression written on her face. He moved further and mocked at her. "Why? Does it hurt your pride to accept my offer when you spend your sleeping time working for nothing? Do you even know who I am?"
Using her eyes to count the notes scattered around the floor, Emily was bewildered. Did a customer just throw her a whooping 10,000 dollars like it was nothing?! Her life savings didn't even make up to 1,000 dollars.
She took a deep breath and looked up to him. Mustering every courage and ignoring the voices in her head. "I'm sorry sir but I can't accept this"
Jason chuckled and relaxed casually on the sofa chair. "I see you're one of those cheap sluts who likes to play hard to get."
"Cheap slut?" There was no possible way Emily could take that. No one had ever addressed her as that.
Jason smiled when he noticed the anger in her expression. "What? Are you gonna preach about valuing your worth when you only want me to increase the money?"
She could only fold her hands in a fist and pressed her lips angrily.
"Don't give me that look, you're already ugly, I will only have nightmares looking at you"
Emily jumped up angrily and stormed out. Kristine who saw her leaving the door, ran after her to catch up with her.
"What are you doing?"
Emily fought against her grip and was about to leave when Kristine stopped her again.
"Emily! Get a grip of yourself" Kristine commanded, holding her tightly.
As soon as Emily relieved a sigh, Kristine went on. "This is what goes on here. These folks do not know what to do with the money and spends it carelessly. You can't afford to lose your job over a glass of whiskey"
Emily turned to her friend, a little surprised and heartbroken. "It's vodka!"
"Go!"
