In the middle of my twisting and twirling, rocking to the beat of the DJ, I felt my phone buzz in my purse. At first, I ignored it, I mean I wanted to have fun but the buzzing didn't stop and curiosity got the better of me.
I pulled it out and saw a private number calling, who could this be, I wondered. I decided to pick
"Head to John's house immediately! There's something you must see urgently!" the voice repeated the same statement twice.
I was confused. Who would call at such an odd time like this? at my bachelorette's night? And why would they ask me to and go and check out the man that I am about to get married too? He would certainly be at his bachelor's party so what exactly was going on?
"Okay" I replied.
"I'll just ignore it." I said to myself and dropped the phone back in my purse and continued dancing. However, the more I danced, the more unsettled my mind was and the voice kept on playing in my head. I kept thinking about what the muffled voice was saying until I couldn't take it anymore. I needed to see what was happening.
With a heavy heart, I made my decision.
"Hey, guys. I'm sorry, but I need to step out for a moment. There's something I need to check on." I said at the top of my voice. I mean I had to, otherwise, they wouldn't have heard me with the loud music blaring from the D.J.'s speakers.
"The night is still young. Why are you leaving so early?" Marian asked as she whined her hips.
"It's urgent. Besides it won't take long, I'll come back when I'm done." I replied.
I smiled at them and slipped out of the club. I raised my hand and a taxi screeched to a halt in front of me. I got in the back seat and gave the driver a half smile.
I gave him John's address.
"Yes, that's right." I leaned back on the seat and stared at the city lights as they blurred past. I have been Nervous Ever since I got that call, I felt a sense of uneasiness. I took a deep breath to calm myself yet I had no idea that my life was about to hit rock bottom.
