"Do you forget that I am your husband most times? You treat me with the least respect." I complained in frustration.
"If you want respect Max, you earn it. I have enough to do, do not add to my existing tight schedule." Tiana added as she sat and grabbed her laptop.
"It is always just work to you and nothing else." I muttered still standing.
"Why did we get married in the first place? Our marriage was built around work, and to keep this marriage we need to ensure that our companies are stable, stop nagging like a child and just go for the meeting in NewYork." Tiana replied still focused on her laptop.
"So this is the sacrifice of being the heir apparent? I need to sacrifice my happiness to maintain my company?" I lamented in bitterness.
"In life, we win some, we lose some. That the only way to succeed." Tiana added sarcastically.
"It's fine, I will move to New York for the meeting. That is actually more better than being here with you." I added as I true to walk out.
"Being here with me? Did you just say that?"Tiana asked in anger.
This whole marriage was against my wish. My family forced this marriage on me to stabilize our failing company.
I called my pilot to get the private jet ready.
I got dressed earlier and was escorted to the airport by my driver and security guards.
I got to New York and was escorted to my home by my security guards and driver.
I got into my mansion and the rush of loneliness just clouded my thoughts.
I quickly changed into a more comfortable wear and headed to the nearest club I could find.
"Max?" A female voice called out in the club.
I looked around to find who it was and there she was,
Sabrina! My Ex Lover.
I hurried to her and tried to hug her but she stretched out her hands for a handshake instead.
"It's been so long Sabrina." I said with excitement on my face.
"Max, Is it really you?" Sabrina asked, her voice breaking.
I left her at the most difficult point in her life, I couldn't bring myself to tell her the truth and so I lied.
"I know Sabrina, you are heartbroken, disappointed and in pain. And I take the blame for all that I have caused you. Please can we have a sit and drink while I explain everything to you?" I asked trying to sound as empathetic as possible.
"I do not care for your explanation Max. I almost lost my life for you!" Sabrina yelled in tears.
"I owe you an explanation. We owe each other this, please let me." I pleaded as I urged her.
She finally gave in and we walked to the counter where we got seated and started drinking.
"My family's company was almost going bankruptcy," I started.
"After college, I was told only I had the option to get the company back on its feet, as I was the heir apparent of the company," I continued.
"And why didn't you tell me?" Sabrina asked in confusion.
"You will not be of help at the time. And so the only option we had was for me to go ghost for a long time and fix the company's problem." I lied trying to avoid telling her that I actually got married.
"How did your disappearance fix it?" Sabrina asked confused.
"It's a thing with the top class family. You will not understand as you are from the middle class family. But the good thing is that I am here now Sabrina, and I won't leave you again." I assured her trying to make her as calm as possible.
She was still as beautiful as I last saw her, even more beautiful now.
"I do not care for this conversation, I just want to drink as much as I can." Sabrina added as she kept gulping the liquor until she became so drunk that she was unable to walk.
I tried to get her to tell me her house address but she was far too drunk to think properly, I was left with no option but to take her to my house.
We got to my house and I carefully placed her on the bed and just as I was about to leave the bed, she held my hand and whispered.
"Don't go." Her voice, her face, her body, everything about her drives me crazy, I tried to resist the urge but she kept pulling me closer.
I gave in and leaned forward, placed a kiss on her lips and we every memory, every moment with her kept rushing in.
I had to stop as she was in a vulnerable state, I wanted her to be conscious before I get to devour every bit of her body again.
I carefully pulled back, took off my shirt and cuddled her to sleep.
