The author
She couldn't let his body rot on that wall. He was no traitor. Edgard deserved at leat a burial before the flies started to circle the corpse. She thought she knew pain, but this was like nothing she had felt before. The hundger of long jurneys on dragon back. The loneliness of weeks and months spend among putrid ruins and bones. Birthing blood and flesh, laying half dead in a caves alone. The rejection.. from who should've been her kin, no matter how she tried to fit in, knowing her very existence was always going to be a thorn in their eyes. Somehow, nothing hurt like seeing his lifeless face.
Soflty, she wispered to the beast '' Dracarys''.
There was nothing left for her. She turned around to see the city, the deserted streets she enjoyed roaming as a child freely. Dressed in rags, noone would suscept her of a targeryen princess. But really, how different was she from all the targeryen bastards crawling the streets of the city? If not for her dragon, would Maergor have treated her any differently? She owed her life to the beast, as all targeryens owe their life, their power, the food and wine on their bellies and the clothes on their back. Without them, they would be torn to pieces like common men. Without them... she took one last look at Edgard, or better what was left on him, burning in flames of gold.
A piercing scream echoed through the city and snapped her back to the present. A great number of knighsts was gathering from all sides. She saw something that peaked her interest... a familiar figure. She found it hard to see through her helmet, her sweat dripping down her eyes, her long hair plastered. She took the helmet off, and it shined in the sunlight like pale gold. The knights halted. The rider was undeniably targeryen, and a very beautiful older woman for that matter. Dressed in the finest of armour, it looked to be made of valyrian steel, silver and gold. Her saddle was large and strange, and resembled a scorpions tail. It was also decorated beautifully, lined with soft fur and leather. Confusion rose. Only one rider aproached with his sword drawn.
- UNMOUNT LADY LANISTER!!
She finally recognised the knight. Jordan. A bitter rage overcame her and her dragon roared restlessly.
- You look pathetic! and spit on his direction.
- Lady Lanister! Unmount and I shall escort you to the King. You could be excused for your husbands madness.
The dragon shook violently, as if preparing to lunge at the knight. She pulled the reigns with all her force, contradicting the beast, struggling to make it obey. Soldiers started drawing back, some got crushed by their own scared horses. Even Jordan struggled to contain his own at the sight of the enraged dragon. For the first time in his life he felt weak, powerless. His hands trembled struggling with the reigns. His sword, his newly aquired postion, the favour he had done to the king telling him about the suprise attack, and his help capturing Edgard,... it was all meaningless now.
- PRINCESS, FOR THE LAST TIME, UNMOUNT YOUR DRAGON!! OR I MUST ORDER THE SCORPIONS TO SHOOT!! I know it wasn't your design. Unmount and come with me, I will help explain to the king your husband acted on his own wishes, out of his own greed.
Soldiers started looking at each other equally horrified and confused...
- I will not unmount my dragon. I did not come to shed blood, any more than you have already shed... YOU... YOU BASTARD, YOU TRAITOR!! She could hardly contain the bitter tears and rage that she felt. The pain, the responsibility for this meaningless bloodshed. Allowed to live in her blood for 60 years.
Princess Maegora was born perhaps during the time Maegor was exiled in Pentos. Soon after he userped the throne, he had send for the bastard to be retrieved... or so the men at court say. She had been legitimised during the years of his rule... however... Maegor still did not name her heir. She had spend her life alienated from the rest of the royal family... stalker being her only truthful companion.
Her dragon, was perhaps even more of a mistery. It looked well over 100 years old, however it has hardly spend a day in his life within the dragon pits. The wild dragon had appeared the very near the city walls the night princess Maegora came to the city.
Over their long lives...all over they came to be knows as the Wandering Misery, rarely seen close to the royal city.
Today, they had descended silently in the light of the day, shamelessly, asking for revenge after her husbands failed attempt to userp the throne from Jahaerys and his new Heir.
