Marianna could not help but laugh out loud at her friend's outburst. She was used to Lucia's being dramatic but this one was too outrageous.. and funny.

"Seriously Lucia, I hope you don't break the microphone on setting your eyes on the so-called god" Marianna laughed again while Lucia pretended to ignore her.

After bickering for a while, both ladies started talking professionally about what they were to do that day.

"So what's the press conference all about?"

"It's probably about the new brand that has just been set into motion in the organization," Marianna answered, neatly stacking up some files on her desk. "You know The Blackwood Enterprises is actually going International right?"

"Oh yes! The CEO is quite active and capable, he knows what he's doing. Turns out he not only has the looks but also the brains too," Lucia commented.

"Hello" a small head poked through the door. "May I come in please?"

"Sure" Lucia cheerfully replied.

"Thanks," the door opened to reveal a chestnut brown-haired lady with her hair neatly tucked back into a ponytail. Her hazel eyes, framed by expressive brows, swept the office with great focus. She projected confidence and professionalism while wearing a neat white blouse and cut blue trousers.

"You must be.." Marianna curiously asked, her brown eyes widening unconsciously.

"Emma.. Emma Harper. I just resumed a month ago" the lady introduced. "Mrs.Bennette sent me here" she further explained.

"Oh the newbie?" Marianna exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. "You're welcome Emma"

"Yes" Although Emma didn't like the idea of being called a newbie, she didn't mind. She felt welcomed already. She smiled as Lucia pulled her in and closed the door.

"That's your table over there. Am so sorry we didn't give you a grand welcome. We honestly thought it'll be an entitled obnoxious kid" Lucia explained and thoughtfully shrugged off the feeling of Had it been? She didn't even want to think about it.

"And while you settle in, we have a job to do by 2 p.m which doesn't exclude you." Marianna said, giving her a document. "You know what it is right?"

"Yes. Mr. Blackwood's press conference." Emma glanced through the document as she received it. "Thanks"

"We are taking off by 12 noon, will Kayla be able to make it?"

"She should.." Marianna replied thoughtfully. "And if she doesn't, we have an additional" she smiled at Emma.

Just as Emma was about to settle down in her seat when Kayla, still in her playful mode shoved a stack of files in her face. "Mrs. Bennette asked me to give you this. Make sure to call her too."

"Okay," Emma nodded.

"You're Emma right? Kayla Peterson. It's nice to meet you." Kayla beamed cheerfully.

Just then, Emma got a call from Martha, "Have you gotten the documents?"

"Yes"
